  1. Hello everyone. I have played Guild Wars before but with long, long breaks, much to blame on new games like Elden Ring being released xD In Guild Wars 2 i have never raided or have done the so called fractals and since i have been away from it for so long i am probably like a complete noob than a returning player. I have been wondering if this is a good time to come back or to do so at some point? Probably after Elden Ring :) , i'm asking this because i have read some posts here where it seems that people aren't happy about how things played out with the release of End of Dragons, some have said that it is a lazy expansion and a poor work by ArenaNet? I always enjoyed Guild Wars 2 but i would love to know what you think about the current state of things and if it would be a god time to come back if i do take that decision. Thank you for reading this and i wish you a great day.
  2. Hello everyone and good morning to all As a new player to GW2 and as someone that enjoyed crafting in other games for example WoW, or even in single player games like Skyrim, how relevant is crafting in Guild Wars 2? Can you make good items, gear or weapons for your character or even to sell those at the trading post? I'm asking this because even if i used to like WoW, crafting always felt kind of irrelevant except for potions, glyphs to name a few. I was listening to a video yesterday about being able to craft Legendary weapons in GW2, is this true? And are they crafted through the normal crafting ways or is it another process? These legendary weapons, are they still relevant to this day? I have a question that is off topic, it's about the keys for the Black Lion Chests, how can obtain these keys? P.S.: I'm loving Guild Wars 2, I'm sure that it has come a long way since 2012, but it feels refreshing as a game itself, one thing i noticed compared to WoW, for example, is that GW2 respects my time as player. Thank you for reading this, i wish you all a great day
  3. Hello everyone and good morning As a new player to the game i have been wondering about the dungeons...i noticed that i have been in a few zones that have dungeons because of the icon on the map but i don't know if i can go there or if there are quests that takes us there, i am now level 36 and i think i'm missed something maybe? Am i doing something wrong? By the way how many dungeons we have in GW 2? About the gold as currency in the game, how hard it is to make gold in GW 2, knowing that there is a possibility for players to trade gold for store gems, did they made it harder to farm for gold in the game? Is there any advice about how to farm gold efficiently? Is there a profession or professions that are better to generate income? Now, we all know that much of MMORPG's end game evolves around fashion i know that we can dye armor in GW2 but can we dye the weapons?
  4. Hello everyone. As a new player i didn't had much time to sink into the game as much as i would like to but i was wondering something. The game as a cash shop, mount skins, weapon skins, even armor skins and other stuff is there to anyone that wishes to buy them of course, in terms of the gear and weapons i would imagine that those are to make the character look cool or even a kitten , i was wondering if by playing the game itself, going through dungeons, raids and other content one can obtain good looking gear and weapons or the most flashier ones and even the most cooler ones are only in the store itself and all the other stuff obtainable in the game looks and feels bland? Sorry for asking this but as a new player and before i do invest myself entirely to GW 2 i have to know how much they monetize the aesthetics of gear and weapons compared to the ones that a player can farm or obtain in the game by doing actual content.
  5. Hello everyone. I started playing Guild Wars 2 a few days ago, I'm really enjoying the game so far the world really feels alive, dynamic and always something happening around me. This isn't meant to be a negative point towards GW2 but having played World of Warcraft once i started my journey here this feels so different, i mean yes it is an MMORPG but compared to WoW it feels so much less stale and alive and much less boring. The idea in WoW of events are these world quests which mainly serve a farming spots for XP or some kind of rep towards a faction in GW 2 yes you get XP, rewards but they have cool stories into them even some funny ones. Knowing that probably the most of you have been here for a long time, and for those that played WoW at some point, what are the major differences that you see between these 2 games and if it's the case, what made you switch from WoW to GW 2? For me personally, at first i was enjoying so much playing Classic and The Burning Crusade because i never played those versions of the game, i got to understand at least a bit a part of the nostalgia for so many and it was really enjoyable, even the road in Classic, the LONG road to level 60 was refreshing for me compared to the retail version of the game, i guess i was just tired of farming for some kind of "power", or to go into this "infinite dungeon" just to be able to craft my legendary, 1 legendary by farming and grinding through a specific material, as an MMORPG fan, the story plays a big part, WoW has amazing lore in my opinion, some of it unfortunately can be found outside the game, through books or comics. I was also part of a great guild filled with helpful people, funny individuals and really nice people and when i was around level 68 in Burning Crusade the guild came to an end because people felt the lack of progression in raids, unlike other guilds that were managing to do more than one raid per week and clear it, the guild i was in was having a hard time so they came to the decision that things had to come to a conclusion sadly. All this, plus the fact that as a Blizzard fan for so many years, i have supported them in every game they made except the first Diablo i have all their games to this game, but seeing and watching the recent events that have been going on i just couldn't keep supporting them, i do believe that human principles are more important than any game. I have read a little bit just to know a bit about Guild Wars 2 and were it came from and i learned that many of the developers, back in 2012 when the game was launched, they came from Blizzard apparently? Is this true? If so, why the parting of ways? What compelled these people to create the vision that gave birth to GW 2? As MMORPG's go i tried a few between WoW, like Elder Scrolls Online didn't really caught my attention, Final Fantasy XIV was very good i have over 600 hours in it but i was really looking for a high fantasy game, of course i do love dragons and Guild Wars 2 well i had a chance to try it a long time ago because some of my friends were playing it but at the time i was really sunk into another game and now that i have started it a few days ago it feels like a breath of fresh air, the world so far in the zones i have walked through have a really cool vibe, the music is good in my opinion and i love the art style and the fantasy vibe that the game has been offering but again i wonder this often since the game was released in 2012 and each game is different in terms of development and content influx, am i late to the party? I know that a new expansion is coming but with the name End of Dragons one can wonder if it means that could be the end of the line for GW 2 since i don't really know much about the dev team and how much they care for the game and it's survival and it's thrive as time goes on. I apologize for the long post but the community here either in game and so far in the forums has been really welcoming and that's a big plus in any game a huge boost. I really want to stay here and so far i have no reason to feel otherwise, it may feel overwhelming because i'm learning a new game but that's also a big attractive to me to keep pushing forward. I wish you all a great day.
  6. Yes but i can't do them as a level 2 character i think, correct?
  7. Hello everyone. So i got the game with all expansions when i bought the Collection Standard edition, is it possible if i want to to upgrade for Ultimate edition? I was trying on the website after the purchased of Standard and when i went to Ultimate it asks me to pay the full price of 99.99. About the living story, so we got these chapters that can be unlocked with gems, my question is you really have to buy them or they automatically unlock at level 80?
  8. But they all unlock at level 80 correct? Also they are content only doable at level 80.
  9. I know that i have made this post but honestly i don't see that as pay to win, people that buy the expansions and support the game and wish to have access to new features etc should be able to distinguish themselves from players that stay on F2P accounts no?
  10. Hello everyone. I started playing GW2 a few days ago, i bought the pack with all 3 expansions but i wonder how the living story works because i saw on this page https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/living-world-season-5-return-the-icebrood-saga-begins-next-week/ near the end that, and i quote, "You’ll need to own Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire™ to play episodes of The Icebrood Saga, but you can unlock them to play later if you haven’t upgraded your account yet.", i don't understand the part where it says that i can unlock them to play later if i haven't updated my account? If i'm correct the living story becomes available, all of it, at level 80 or if i want to i can buy the episodes at the store correct? Or am i missing something here?
  11. But this something i don't understand, i need to buy the story parts or they will be available at level 80? Also, there's a few of them that aren't possible to buy at all, why is that? Is it considered kind of a legacy content?
  12. So i can still get the expansion content like the gliders and mounts right? About the living story is there a correct order than i can follow if i wish to go through all the lore or stories?
  13. Greetings. I don't have access to the living story? So what do the expansions bring to the table? How can get access to the living story?
  14. Hello and thank you for the feedback everyone, i should have referenced that i am on EU
  15. Greetings everyone. I just started playing a couple of days ago because a friend of mine that also loves MMORPG's started playing here. I just had this question cross my mind because of the in game store and so much stuff in it that i had no time yet to see it all but i was wondering if this game is P2W in any way?
  16. I have to learn so much about this game. If may ask yet again Veprovina is there a good youtube channel you would recommend for me to watch about guides for this kind of stuff, builds even etc? I was also wondering in what server you play or if you play on EU, could always use to add some nice people .
  17. So in the crafting like armorsmith or weaponsmith we can go as high as legendary items?
  18. Wait...we can craft legendary items in GW2? That's the best tear or can we craft beyond that?
  19. Hello everyone i just joined GW2 a couple of days ago, it was very highly praised by a friend of mine so i decided to give it a go, so far i'm enjoying it and i also bought all the expansions plus the one that it will be released next year. I am in no ways a hardcore player, i'm just enjoying the ride and having fun, since i joined a friend of mine that's also playing i joined his server Underworld. I tried to post on the guild forum but it seems that's not easy to get feedback in there to join a guild, are there any other ways to look for a guild to join?
  20. Hello GW2 community, hello everyone. I am a new player to the game, i started playing with a friend recently because i got burned out of another MMORPG and i have been searching for a fresh start, a reset. I am playing in the Underworld server, i don't know if it's a good server or not, i went there because my friend is there so let's give it a go. As a player well i'm not hardcore not because i don't want to but because i can't play everyday or for hours on end, i would love to do the hard content in the game but we will see if i get there. I don't care for drama or toxicity, i really tend to stay away from that, that's why we got mute or block options in games like these, i'm just a player looking for a good time and to have fun and progress at the same time, i think that there can coexist without any problems. I'm looking for a guild that i could call home. I wish you a great day adventurers.
  21. Hello thank you for the welcome to the community. Regarding the picture i posted with the trading post restriction, when i created my account i followed all the steps, i validated my email i also secured my account with the 2 step authentication (i got a nice pet). I guess that, as some other people told me, that 4 day period is jut a normal thing and to avoid bots or people spamming at the Trading Post. I was also wondering because i did some research about the game, many things seem go around dragons in GW2, i saw just one video to avoid many spoilers, people fighting a huge dragon, are there more of those or other big/powerful bosses and can players still gather to try and defeat them? I was also wondering about gathering professions, how many can 1 character take at once and should i start grinding those gathering professions as soon as possible? I also noticed that there are episodes/seasons of the story only playable at level 80? I saw those in the journal screen. Finally, and i really apologize for all these questions, i wonder how the devs are? I mean do they really interact with the community, do they care for the game? I remember a friend of mine had the game since release and he told me that back in the day the game didn't had expansions or things like mounts and all these years down the road that has changed, i wonder how those changes and more were taken by the community?
  22. Hello and again thank you everyone you all have been very helpful. I was also wondering why i can't sell blue or green items in the Trading Post? I posted an image i hope you can see it from the message i get when trying to sell items, i have bought the expansions as well. https://imgur.com/ISWoeGW
