I haven't played gw2 since season 5 thus, when I returned one week ago, I was very surprised to see that GW2 forces us (in PvP only) to choose between ascended shards (ascended armor) and to play with friends/guild/team for fun !
If players want an ascended armor to explore the other game modes (FotM) they have to played ranked game with maximum 1 other player ! Even if they don't care about the ladder ! I wasn't expecting this from this game where community, guilds, friends and fun were important.
PvP is the only game mode where players have to choose. In WvW a player can play for fun with his guild and win pips !
Why can't we win pips in unranked ? Even if players win less pips, it is not important to win 10 pips per win, 5 is enough, even 3. The idea is to make accessible ascended shards for players who don't care about the ladder and like to play with friends for fun !
It would sort players who want pips and players who want to grind the ladder, therefore improve the ranked games for the latter.
I hope Anet will do something about this.
During this time, please do not insult me in ranked, I am just having fun with multiple classes while slowly farming my legendary armor.
