  1. I am still not sure whether to buy the expansion or not. Either way, I haven't logged into GW2 in a long time. Got burnt out. The changes to Scourge is terrible yes but at least they are fixing it in the follow-up patch no? We will have to wait and see. But it is really bad optics. It is as if nobody in the balance dev team even play Scourge to make those changes so blindly. But I have seen the incompetence of the balance team throughout the years and this is no surprise to me anymore. Balance has never been something Anet is good at. Remember the June balance patch last year? What I am interested in the expansion is the open world legendary armor. I have yet to craft myself any legendary armor set aside from Fractal wings.. And maybe having a Legendary set will allow me to change up my build a little more easily whenever balance goes to hell.

  3. Love the old animation too! The double swing feels weighty and impactful compared to the current one.
  4. I think I have figured out what's Obtena.7952 gameplan. His avatar being a Mesmer and all, everything that has been posted by him is an illusion and his goal is to confuse all of us, devs included. This is the reason why necromancers never get any meaningful buffs/changes. It's the mesmers all along. Yes, first you said "You don't think it is a bad thing that devs buffs Reaper DPS" then you said "It's bad to balance Reaper by giving more DPS" Reaper has NOTHING going for them besides DPS. It is a selfish DPS spec end of story. Everything about the spec, class fantasy and traits screams DPS. Do you actually believe Reaper is supposed to be a utility tank class because of second healthbar now? Or the age old meme about how "Reaper being good is based on how bad your team is"?
  5. So you have finally let the cat out of the bag with all your refutes. You just don't want to see Reaper in end-game instanced PvE content, okay gotcha. I swear some people in this necromancer forum has a hidden agenda against Reaper.
  6. And what is this supposed to achieve? You do 23k DPS as a selfish DPS (with full boons support) and you can't even do 35k DPS on a stationary golem.
  7. I do play reaper in WvW. I use it to flip camps, towers and kill veteran monsters or NPCs. But if I so much as see an enemy player running 500 yards away in my direction? I GTFO for dear Reaper life. The moment anyone land a CC on me esp those roaming rangers, I am pretty much a free walking punching bag at that point. If running with a Zerg just use Scourge to tag stuff.
  8. Saw a comment somewhere on Reddit. I believe there are two camps of people regarding the whole "Shroud is a second life bar" argument. Just give us a new trait one that is the best DPS trait for Reapers which removes their "Second life bar" in favour for one that is similar to Harbinger Shroud. So yeah, you sacrifice your second life bar for 35 - 38k dps. That is good enough for me. Let those people who want to TANK with their second health bar go ahead. 😆
  9. Thanks @Westet.3068 for this video. I can only hope the devs finally open their eyes and watch this video. These changes are just number changes and should make it to the upcoming Nov 29 patch.
  10. What a load of rubbish. Builds that perform a similar role (in this case, DPS) NEEDS to be adequate in that role it is supposed to perform in. (Give or take a 10% margin of difference is ok) This is the same reason why Anet is reworking Firebrand because they want to give other supports a more even playing field. The same philosophy should definitely apply to DPS. I don't mind doing 10% less DPS than a well-played Elementalist. But not 20% - 30% less DPS as a SELFISH DPS that offers nothing to the team. Vulnerability? Few stacks of might? LOL Why play anything else as DPS when you can play Virtuoso and top DPS from 1200 range away, have great sustain (on condi), great utility and easy rotation? Don't need to be optimal? Ok next time go and have fun with a team on CM instanced content with a core Reaper DPS pet build and see if you don't get kicked ok?
  11. "Deal increased strike damage while downed. Inflict vulnerability when you strike a foe below the health threshold." Yes this is a downstate damage modifier. This is the one trait I was expecting a rework on the November balance patch if the devs were indeed seriously looking to buff Power Reapers as it is a traitline every power damage Reaper takes. It has been 5 years since the last (PvE) update to this trait and it still hasn't gotten reworked. How long more does Necromancer need to wait before we get a real balance update?
  12. I feel this. Here are some changes that comes to mind. Pathetic changes like this as an example. Only took them 5 years to buff Life rend's coefficient by 0.025. Noice. Life Rend August 23, 2022 (PvE only) Damage multiplier increased from 0.875 to 0.9. November 07, 2017 Increased damage by 25%. February 22, 2017 Increased damage by 17%. Rending Claws December 12, 2017 Increased damage by 13%. May 16, 2017 Applies twice as much vulnerability while your target is below 50% health. October 18, 2016 The damage of this ability has been increased by 15%. September 29, 2015 Increased the range to 900. Increased damage by 10%.
  13. I would like to know this too. The Reaper changes are pathetic I was expecting changes to shroud, shouts, traits maybe even throw in a new elite signet and make the elite shout skill better than golem elite? What about Lich form? Not even an update to spite signet? Argh there is just too many things that needs to be addressed.
  14. I am reposting this quote so that this informative post does not get lost in the sea of comments in the official thread. I hope Reaper gets more attention. Just like how the community managed to get Arenanet to revert the scrapper well changes, I am hoping we can get some real changes done to Reaper and not this weak sauce update that doesn't even touch on it's outdated traits and shout skills. @Westet.3068
