  1. Problem is stacking is not just for boons, a lot of the time stacking is to prioritise certain positions or mechanics that would be in favor of the players in the fight. E.g. w1 gorseval: stacking behind the boss means you don't sit in orbs around the arena and egg mechanic is in one clustered area so people are less likely to get caught.

Providing boons and being in the right area to give/recieve said boons is part of the cooperation required for the content they are most required in.

  2. Rip thief, mesmer, engineer, ranger who use stealth skills.

And oh man, all the encounters where stealth helps makes this game a bit more interesting or less annoying.

Tbh dude, this sounds like a skill issue rather than a game issue. Anet aren't perfect but deleting it from the game because you dislike it or have problems with it is just dumb.

  3. Some ideas of what I'd like to see plus some suggested class names just for fun (I know we aren't getting anymore elites but it was fun for me)

    Engineer- axe (craftsman)

    Ranger- rifle (huntsman]

    Theif - torch (saboteur)

Mesmer- mh pistol or hammer (marksman/forger)

    Necromancer- shortbow or longbow (fowler)

    Elementist- greatsword (constituent)

    Warrior- focus (taction)

    Guardian- warhorn (motivator)

    Revenant- dagger (conjurer)

  4. Think the main reason they made it one wing per week was to make sure people didn't abuse the system. Emboldened gives the same rewards as normal, so if they had more than 1 wing per week, say 1 wing per day, people would just do Emboldened in each wing for weekly clears rather than nm. There would be no incentive to learn and improve to then do nm weekly clears.

  5. The amount of "I'm right everyone else is wrong, ban those who don't agree with me" is strong with this one.

Understandable you don't want to use third party add-ons, no one should be forced to either, but your arugement was lost to me as soon as you say others that do use it should be banned.

Get off your high horse and let others have fun in the game they want to.

Also just so you know you don't need a third party add-on to give KP :D

  6. Or maybe you could pay attention to the fight and not use said skills when it could get you killed? As many people have pointed out those movement skills are useful when used correctly. A part of these fights are learning to optimize when to do rotation or use certain skills.

Saying people should be fired because of your mistakes and unwillingness to adapt seems very immature and entitled. Edit: You could have even just politely suggested/requested a change.

  7. As much as I understand the intention to draw/keep new players with these suggestions most if not all are not viable.

    1. Buying expansions that players can buy from you with gd will most like be against their current rules based on Real Money Traders (see here:https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011560933-Policy-Purchasing-Gold-from-Real-Money-Traders-RMT) or would probably break the market in game. Also buying and selling or gemstore items could mean people could sell them for lower/higher prices set in the gemstore,  they already make gemstore items accessible with gd in game.

    2. Boss battle sounds good but looks like it might take too much time and resources to implement. The game focuses more on players that are casual who are less likely to be interested in any form of competition. They struggle to satisfy these players with current strikes/raids, and pvp + wvw has rarely seen any improvements over the years.

    3.  Anet already give them raptor 10 hour trail when reaching level 10. Making them enter a level 80 zone when barely knowing how the game works would more likely end with people leaving the game than naturally progressing. Also adding new bosses to old zone would be another big undertaking, they already updated most of the world bosses with new mechanics etc but that did little to change old players returning previous maps other than weeklies and World boss rush.

    4. Anet already run a lot of servers, not sure they have the money and capacity to run more for one game mode.

    5. This could work but I think this would have to be an pvp zone/mode. Also depends once again if they have the time and resources to implement.

To sum this up I get these ideas were suggested to get more new players interested in the game but you need to consider the realistic aspects here. They would not work as a business model and anet may not have the time or resources for them.

I wonder if legendary gathering tools would be acceptable if their crafting process got easier the more infinite gathering tools you 'smelted' into them. Let's say someone has 3 infinite tools on each of their 12 characters for a total of 36 (not sure if that's an extreme number or if there's people that have that) - smelting them would skip like 99% of the crafting process of the legendary gathering tools. Or if you have a total of like 6 infinite tools across 2 chars, smelting them may skip lets say 20% or so of the crafting process. Really just guesswork numbers, devs would have to decide what's appropriate (possibly from statistics of how many are owned by players on average and on the high end). With a minimum requirement of 1 infinite gathering tool being smelted in the process to make per legendary (so 1x pickaxe, 1x logging, 1x gathering tool) - which I'd say is fair since it doesn't require the gemstore to aquire them as you can target farm Black Lion Statuettes through Black Lion Keys from map completion or the guaranteed ones on personal story to obtain them.

Just throwing the idea out there if something like that would make the introduction of legendary gathering tools acceptable for people that have multiple sets of infinite tools already. Though fully expecting lots of confused emojis x)

This would only work if its based on the maximum amount of tools someone can have via account. So far the character limit is 69, so we're looking at 69×3= 207, so they would equal 2.07% or less per tool of skipping the crafting requirement.

Isn't that what legendaries already do? Provide access to things that other players don't have access to unless they go and do that specific content? See: Leadership and dungeon runes being on legendary runes; Living World and expansion stats like Diviner's and Ritualist's; rings and backpacks with full infusion slots without having to do fractals to infuse them; and so on. I don't get how legendary fishing rods, infusions and enrichments would be any different.

Apologies, maybe I didn't explain things clearly. I was mostly referring to how legendary gear does not give more stats than ascended gear. Yes you have access to stat types that you might not have the relevant content unlocked (not sure why this is, maybe coding doesn't allow it?). From ops description it sounds like legendary fishing rods would give additional buff.

With infusions they are accessible but require time and resources or are a rare drop item. They are meant to be a long term goal for fractal goers and those wanting to optimize. Legendary infusions would be a much lesser term goal. (I don't compare this to ascended gear because ascended gear is much quicker and easier to collect, the game will give more ascended pieces than required once you reach a certain point). Also, though only minor, infusions give extra stats so they somewhat need a "price" to obtain some balance.

Enrichments give buffs as well so once again some level of "cost" would make sense.

Tbh people can argue that infusions + enrichments could still be made into legendaries but anet would need to consider at what cost to ensure that non-legendaries are still sort out.

So how would you see legendary infusions as viable?

I mean, there's diferent types of infusions like WvW and fractal infusions, then there's infusions that come with a special effect. And for a full set you'd need 20 or 24 (depending on whether or not you include underwater weapons). So how cost-prohibitive should they be?

I'm really just struggling to see it but perhaps you have some good ideas about this and how it should work.

Yeah I saw the mistake in that and edited my post after.

  11. Some of these won't ever be legendaries as they make previous items obsolete and would give advantages other players would not have access to (most noteably the fishing rod edit: and infusions/enrichments) Also with gathering tools we have unbrakebale tools via the gemstore, I doubt anet will make legendary items that could affect a part of their revenue.

Edit: rest seem viable. I myself would prefer Aquatic Headgear first since its the only armour gear we do not have legendary of yet

As of now, the best way of acting would be using the fractal system on all content, 3-4 tiers and allow the player what does he want to play or allow him access at a certain point, for example, Wings 1 to 4 as of now are exageratedly easy, you can make Sabetha not spawn minimobs, making it so you can't go for the cannons, but in exchange the platform has more health and cannons do a 33% less damage, it changes mechs forcing the players to find different strats based on the tiers, or on Gorseval you can't break the walls/eggs, you either dps rush his nuke or die, and when it comes to the eggs, you need someone else to rescue you.

They have material enough to play with and say "Ok, we can do this and that to offer a better experience" or things like that, because as of now, aside of the 2 last raids and Sabetha, most of the bosses are huge piñatas. And when it comes to strikes, mostly all of them are.

They already implemented emboldened for raids. Also I don't think they can change the raids to that extent. A possible idea for future encounters but current ones tampering with them could cause major bugs and other problems.

You can already slowly progress via difficult tiers by doing easier encounters and slowly working towards harder ones. E.g. Vail Guardian is the go to first raid boss, followed by gorseval, then you move into w4 with Cairn and so forth. These raid bosses are not too complicated or require too much in regards to individual roles outside of squad roles.

The fights are more about self awareness and the individual doing their part to ensure the success of the run. Whether that be doing specific mechanics or making sure they do enough dps to kill the boss in the appropriate time. You can't just zone out and hit the boss because these encounters were meant to challenge the players awareness and reactions. Dumbing down core mechanics will not help people improve and progress.

There are many people and guilds out there willing to help those progress in endgame content such as raids but the player also needs to be willing to put in the effort themselves to go looking for this as well as self improving. You don't need to do pro levels of dps, in fact I find low intensity builds to be more than capable of doing most content. Its takes time and effort so it depends on the person if they think its worth it, but they also shouldn't complain about the difficulty of the content if they decide not to put in the effort and go for it anyway.

  13. They are gd/time/material/achieve sink. If there's cheaper alternatives then go for that then. So far the only person who seems to be complaining about them is you. People either go for the cheaper alternatives or realise the extra strats they get have little to no impact on the game, they're just something for those who like to extra optimize and/or want a long term goal to work towards.

  14. Think one of the main problems anet have is not taking on player feedback anymore. Fair enough some are bias but there have been plenty of good feedback with explanations and calculations on why something should be changed/shouldn't be changed. They used to do that for a bit but then stopped doing it for some reason.

That's a single summon that may negatively impact others. That's one summon that could be adjusted to no longer do that one thing, bit otherwise still exist in the game.

What did the parrots do that could negatively impact others? What about my Rock Dog? What about the Halloween crows?

Most of the summons did uncontrollable cc, not too bad in ow but in other endgame content it could be a issue.

edit: apologies it was just golem that had uncontrolled cc. However other issues have occurred from the summons such as parrot having a large argo area and would actively seek out enemies. Again not too bad for ow but for other end game content not good.

For all we know, which is nothing because they don't talk to us, they may simply not want us to play with the toys we had fun with anymore.

This attitude right here is what makes me dislike most of the nonsense on the forums.

Life is unfair, things we liked to play/do get taken away now and then. You know what most of us do? Move on and find something else. The constant whining and victim mentality will not help.

You can voice your dislike, concerns, opinions etc as much as you like but doing so like this most people will not take you seriously.  If you want something to change then give good reason and argument for change.

As I've said before in one of the many threads on this subject, I do feel sorry for those who have lost this aspect of the game but the multiple threads is not doing anything productive.

Could at least add a "weaponskill" volume slider at this point so I don't have to kill off every single sound effect at once just to reduce 1 specific one. Or just make better sounds.

If it's possible for anet to do this then that would be good. But considering that many people have complained about certain weapon sound affects in the part cough dreamer cough I guess its not possible (can't break the spaghetti code).

Best alternative we have atm is skin change and the sound affects bar.

  18. I don't think we would be able to get aurene but if anet implemented a "crystal wyven" pet into the game, maybe as a pet in future expansion. Would also be fun if they could get other elder dragon variants as pets.

  19. Not sure about the other modes (you seem to focus more of WvW side) but for pve more challenging content I don't think this will be viable.

Also why should players be punished for being efficient with builds and boon uptime?

In most pve content boons don't really make or break gameplay, it's only in more challenging end game content that requires boons to be good which kind of goes hand and hand with the expected skill level of these players (being the most efficient/best is not necessary but a certain bare minimum is expected based on the difficulty of the content.)

Most classes are able to perform healboon/dpsboon support in pve now, of course some are better than others, some still need work, but we have a lot more choice now than before.

As I said I can't make much comment on other game modes but it this approach seems like its just catering to those not willing to optimize with the system in the game rather the boons being a problem themselves.
