  1. Think one of the main problems anet have is not taking on player feedback anymore. Fair enough some are bias but there have been plenty of good feedback with explanations and calculations on why something should be changed/shouldn't be changed. They used to do that for a bit but then stopped doing it for some reason.

That's a single summon that may negatively impact others. That's one summon that could be adjusted to no longer do that one thing, bit otherwise still exist in the game.

What did the parrots do that could negatively impact others? What about my Rock Dog? What about the Halloween crows?

Most of the summons did uncontrollable cc, not too bad in ow but in other endgame content it could be a issue.

edit: apologies it was just golem that had uncontrolled cc. However other issues have occurred from the summons such as parrot having a large argo area and would actively seek out enemies. Again not too bad for ow but for other end game content not good.

For all we know, which is nothing because they don't talk to us, they may simply not want us to play with the toys we had fun with anymore.

This attitude right here is what makes me dislike most of the nonsense on the forums.

Life is unfair, things we liked to play/do get taken away now and then. You know what most of us do? Move on and find something else. The constant whining and victim mentality will not help.

You can voice your dislike, concerns, opinions etc as much as you like but doing so like this most people will not take you seriously.  If you want something to change then give good reason and argument for change.

As I've said before in one of the many threads on this subject, I do feel sorry for those who have lost this aspect of the game but the multiple threads is not doing anything productive.

Could at least add a "weaponskill" volume slider at this point so I don't have to kill off every single sound effect at once just to reduce 1 specific one. Or just make better sounds.

If it's possible for anet to do this then that would be good. But considering that many people have complained about certain weapon sound affects in the part cough dreamer cough I guess its not possible (can't break the spaghetti code).

Best alternative we have atm is skin change and the sound affects bar.

  5. I don't think we would be able to get aurene but if anet implemented a "crystal wyven" pet into the game, maybe as a pet in future expansion. Would also be fun if they could get other elder dragon variants as pets.

  6. Not sure about the other modes (you seem to focus more of WvW side) but for pve more challenging content I don't think this will be viable.

Also why should players be punished for being efficient with builds and boon uptime?

In most pve content boons don't really make or break gameplay, it's only in more challenging end game content that requires boons to be good which kind of goes hand and hand with the expected skill level of these players (being the most efficient/best is not necessary but a certain bare minimum is expected based on the difficulty of the content.)

Most classes are able to perform healboon/dpsboon support in pve now, of course some are better than others, some still need work, but we have a lot more choice now than before.

As I said I can't make much comment on other game modes but it this approach seems like its just catering to those not willing to optimize with the system in the game rather the boons being a problem themselves.

So your best approach is to find a way to overcome your "I only play my main" approach (dunno, maybe role-play as an offspring or something).

From this advise may I suggest creating a "copy" of your main? Other than the name you can create everything to be the same. You could even put your current gear on the clone once it reaches level 80. Just remember to put it back on your main as required and don't delete the copy without moving everything back first.

  8. Think the main problem here is not the vast amount of builds and options but more about finding what you want to play.

Not sure how long you were gone for but things has changed within the game that a lot of classes are now decent to good for certain roles. E.g. firebrand used to be the go to op healer in the game but now you have herald, druid, scourge etc able to stand toe to toe with hfb (for the most part). There's no ,"one size fits all" meta anymore, of course there are some classes/builds that still preform outstandingly, but a lot of other classes/builds are still good that they will still be a good pick for most content. There's only a few specific classes/builds that are required for certain content in this game e.g. deimos hk.

My advise for players struggling to choose a class/build is to focus on these main points:

    - What role(s) do you want to play. Healer? Boondps? Dps?

    - what difficulty level do want the playstyle to be? You want something that's low intensity but still performs well? Or do you want something more challenging with a strict rotation? Something mid?

    - if stuck between a few choices, play around with them in easier content and/or use the training golem to test them out.

Actually the LFG system for fractals, raids and strikes, is quite bad, specially because a lot of people prefer just to stay doing nothing for hours for their insane requirements of kps, ufs, li, etc. Than spend that time trying to do the content with people that probably don't have that quantity of requirements, but that they have done the content a lot. The system has to be improved to make it more automatic, and dont even have to worry about create it from scratch. They can just go to wow and see what they did  and do something similar.

But really is insane that for example in my case,  I didn't know about kps before and I throw away all decoration, and now is really difficult to me do content even knowing the raid mechanics, and having practically 2 legendary raid sets.

I've never seen nor been apart of a group where it takes hours to get people to join because of kp requirements. I have however seen people joining no or low kp groups not knowing the basics or following instructions when given in squad chat (we call this greifing).

The use of kp is there to try and filter out certain level of players because not everyone has the time, patience or want to teach others how to do the content. If they implement a system where parties/squad are created automatically if they don't have a way to measure a player's experience and role you can bet it will be a disaster.

I'm sorry to hear about your particular example of not knowing about kp and how to save it. Best advise I can give is to try to join a guild doing raids or do low/no kp runs until you can get enough kp to be able to join the groups you want. Can also look into running groups yourself with low/no kp.

Edit: have you also tried pinging your legendary armor? I've seen players been accepted in runs with that before.

Our Guild Officers have sent videos of it to Arenanet

If they have been reported and you (or others in your guild) have sent "evidence" to anet then posting on the forums is not gonna progress or guarantee your desired outcome.

The forum is where players go to have discussions, yes forum moderators and devs will look at the forums now and then but the likeliness they will respond or change things just based on forum posts is slim.

    Report, ignore, move on.

  11. Shooting a weapon towards you in game is not an offence unless you're being maliciously targeted in a pvp setting, and even then you need solid proof that person is "attacking" you. Also the sound effect is down to the weapon/game not the person themselves. As many people have suggested turn off in game sound effects if it bothers you.

  12. Though a interesting idea not sure if this would actually solve the issue. Most of the time lfg is empty is because groups tend to get filled quickly. The groups that take time to fill are are the groups that ask for something specific e.g. High kp, a specific role/class, so on. Also those waiting for a group on lfg are usually the people that avoid having to make their own group as much as possible.

Ok I shall respond 1 more time.

Remember the 1st post. it was bound to be unfavorable; but i didnt think it would stir so much up.

Dibit, it seemed just the right thread to bring it up. But Passerbye was picking bits and pieces from my post applying semantics and

bringing my message out of context to reinforce his own Opinion to nullify mine... and that too... is my Opinion.

Anyway; on to the Meat of the rack.

Hello Passerbye, ive read your stuff... it was an.. interesting perspective. People loved it. Atleast ya entertained a few peeps.

But sorry to say, its not mine perspective; all ive witnessed was someone using sneer tactics simply because having difficulty coping with an Opinion that didnt Allign with his Own.

Well; everyone has their own idea's, own Opinions... wich is fine... but nope. You just had to make a point of how wrong my Opinion is... in great Volatile fashion.

Uh ok... i hope it gave you what you wanted.

You don't bite? idk about that, so far you have been pretty snappy.

But really... was my Opinion that scary for ya? Do you really think Anet would consider it even? You either give me too much credit or yer faith in Anet is poor. Wich is it?

Relax; no need to use words like "jabs" and "Confrontation"; or are we having a fight? i thought this was a conversation. A Confrontation also implies an Emotional state of turmoil.

Passerbye... you arent emotional about this... right? Oh dear let me get you a warm blanket and some hot choco.

Also... its not about whats right and wrong... Who decided that? You? All yer fans? If someone makes a choice and ya say Thats the wrong choice and it ends up being the good choice are ya gonna  admit yer wrong? well? no! cause you got your own Opinion. Whether thats Right or Wrong doesnt matter.. its still their own choice.

I shall respect your opinion; but i will still disagree with it.

You shall still disagree with my opinion, but you shall also respect it.

Cause if you dont then your pretty much against the Freedom of Speech.... I really hope you know what Freedom of Speech is.

If you dont respect someone's else Opinion; wich is a keystone of freedom of speech... well thats fine too.

Btw. That last Daily System was Great! Why ya think its gone? Cause is was too good.

Do an official Poll and i think we all know what the outcome would be for the Majority of players.

Anyways; hoped my Original post didnt rile ya peeps up to much; i still think its a good idea.

at the end of the day its just exchange of information.

    o7

Lol dude you confusing as hell.

You call Passerbye out for making jabs then proceed to make jabs thinking you still maintain the high road.

Demand he respect your opinion when you have no power to enforce this. Edit: he is also not obligated to.

Use Freedom of speech to try to avoid people from pointing out your flaws in your "opinion" and then suggest that if he doesn't follow what you want he therefore lacks understanding of what Freedom of speech is.

Freedom of Speech does not mean others can not oppose you. Also it does not stop you from receiving repercussions and consequences, that's why there's laws against hate speech.

My 2 cents, hate or like it. Its an opinion.

I really hope that (like the rest of the playerbase) the primary reason 0.001% people wanna clear difficult/challenging stuff in games is to

be Very Entertained/have lots of fun,  and not todo it out of a sense of obtaining  "Entitled Prestige"...

Factual its an Artificial sense of superiority, lets not be in denial and think we are more special then the other.

Lets not forget; there all sorts of gamers and the majority of those 0.001% is most likely the type that gets bored easily/doesnt like staleness/adrenaline junkies.

They too need to have their "own thing." within GW2 wich is a replacement for their older games.

And If someone wants to Buy the infusion/title... let them be... its their own choice/gold/MC's...

maybe you need the infusion  to complete that look or the title has a nice ring to it; Great! go for it.

Cheating? Hm... not really. their legally hired professional players that provide assistance with difficult content.

If you goto a baker and buy a bread,  your gonna call that Cheating too? cause it was not selfmade? *facepalm*

Ive got more an issue with the fact they add "succesfull CM req" in the Astral Specials tab. I mean....Really guys?

Thats basicly telling Casual players the following:

"We know CM's are kind of a specialized thing for the 0.001% but we dont like the current payoff/numbers...

so dont mind us passively forcing you to play the CM and succesfully clear it.. if you want those Astral points atleast...

or did you really think we would let you avoid CM's altogether?

Sorry but no, You must be reminded that thanks to your own mediocre skills those Astral Points will forever be out of your reach,

so you better Gitgud and start  raising that 0.001% for us."

Team Anet, keep those Astral goals within reasonable boundaries for EVERYONE please.

Let those CM people keep their CM stuff but dont let it seep into the Astral System; that kind of "gatekeeping" is meh.

There's a lot of stuff in the Wizard's vault that people dislike/can't do, we gonna remove those too? It's optional and I'm sure anet's reasoning for adding it was not "we're gonna force you to do it" but "hey you considered doing this?". There's plenty of time and other AA rewards to be had to ensure you get all the rewards and the limited time stuff you can get later with the legacy tab.

The only people that really believe in gatekeeping are those unwilling to be proactive and do things for themselves. Yes there are groups that ask for kp but they don't stop you from being able to form your own group instead.

There's nothing in game that stops you from being able to do content (other than maybe being level 80), regardless of whether you have the right gear, the right build, experience etc; these factors only increase the likelihood of being successful.

  15. As someone who plays both with extra wide screen on my pc and a small screen laptop I do not find hardware to be considered a tactical advantage to other players.

If my reactions are slow/bad or I play terribly with a smaller screen a bigger screen ain't gonna make much of a difference.

Also bigger screen can be hard to concentrate outside of a certain radius of your character/skill bar. Maybe it's a disadvantage instead!
