RuneScape, Final Fantasy 11, Everquest and Vanilla WoW were all pretty challenging with a decent populace while requiring a ton of time invested to do a lot of the content, but the whole "Been there done that" from the more hardcore crowd and the "I got 17 full time jobs and 37 kids" from casuals started to warp content design around 2006 -2008. It is also the reason the Moba Genre exploded about 2 years later. I am not entirely sure what is even being discussed in this thread anymore. Raiding in this game compared to other MMO's is entirely optional and it should stay that way. Difficulty tiers already exist with the different wings thus making an easy mode which would equate to pretty much just instanced world boss mode is a waste of developer time. Adding new content to keep people playing is nothing new in any game.

No one really goes to an MMORPG for Challenge alone anymore because of the design direction most of them have taken.

Well since the old forums got deleted I can not find the post but they already said they do not want raids to be a good gold source for players or the best way to get ascended gear. I agree with this concept because it breaks away from traditional MMO's of raids being the end all for the best gear and gold gain. I mean look at the weekly shard cap and the small amount of gold that drops from bosses (depends on rng with certain exotics and possible precursors). They finally nerfed 40 farm probably for the same reason so if you want to grind for gold there is RIBA, Lake Doric and Istan.

If you do not want to spend a ton of gold you are going to have to wait. Complete all the wintersday exclusive achievements in the collection and wait until Rune/Sigil prices are under 2g during the summer and finish it then. Alternatively you can buy the rune and sigils when they are low and flip them during the event for a massive profit which is what I did. Since this item takes up a shoulder slot I have no interest in it other than easy gold for when the demand skyrockets.

Not being able to have this and the scarf on at the same time should be a crime.
