  1. Which is exactly why I ask him why that line is included to try to make his point, as it doesn't support his point. So he is talking about story because he included this example.
  2. I have written for the creative industry for many years, you don't have to explain this to me. The point is the 'every time you do the story' part, like it's somehow an argument in his case that it happens *every time*. But of course it does, it's not going to get different dialogue. It's not supposed to.
  3. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aellin I need to give him the letter for the hidden achievement, but he just isn't in the spot the wiki says he should be in. At first I thought it might be due to Halloween changing Lion's Arch, but now the event has been gone for some weeks and he still isn't on the map for me.
  4. Wait, is your complaint here actually that the story mission has this dialogue every time you do the same mission? Of course it has, it's only got one option, it's a story mission. You're not supposed to repeat it again and again and expect something different.
  5. Yes, I farmed for a good 2-3 hours to then find out you cannot claim this chest afterwards because it runs into a bug 🥲
  6. I had to buy an associated weapon to be able to find the sigil. Everything was checked right in crafting interface, I tooled around with it bunch, even bought a new inscription karma item to see if I could buy the recipe again but it showed as having been learned.
  7. Yes, it's even greyed out in my wiki (when using account API) to show I have unlocked the recipe. (https://imgur.com/a/lyH9sqb) I guess I'll just have to waste 3 gold on one of the weapon recipes and see if that gets me to the inscription.
  8. Yes, I've even checked multiple of the correct crafting Disciplines (Weaponsmith and Artificer). https://imgur.com/a/LjrB5wQ
  9. So I've unlocked the recipe for Ossa's Crusader Inscription (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ossa's_Crusader_Inscription) but it doesn't show up to be crafted in my crafting bench. I have made all the necessary components as well, but I still cannot make it anywhere. Is this a bug? How do I find this?
  10. It's still just as much a problem, regardless of the weekly. As described by me and others, very frequently you do insane amounts of stuff to hold a keep, and you don't get progress. This hurts your regular achievements as well, and it's tough for your weekly if you don't play a ton of WvW in a week because you really have to scrape to get 3 that count if 80% of them do not.
  11. Yes I know you need to do more than repair since the updates. But if whiping 10-15 enemy players, reviving the lord, repairing outer and inner gates and destroying siege doesn't even give you credit for a keep defense, than all we can conclude is there's some tough bugs out there. Not just for keeps but also for towers. While at other times you get defense participation (and achievement progress) for killing a single enemy attacker.
  12. Because obviously there are fine servers out there, I know many myself and from friends. So if you have consistent problems in the current system because of your server, you ought to move. It's not a "single experience". Just start by looking at the 'likes' in this topic and the amount of people who defend this ridiculous beta and the alliance plans. Sure it sucks you initially put your tent up where the swamp was going to be, but now you guys are just refusing to move your tents, instead wanting to replace the entire camping over it. That's just silly.
  13. I have never changed servers and have never had this issue. Sure, sometimes some guilds leave just like they came, but the core stays, so it's fine and you'll recover quickly. You are conflating bad servers with the system being bad, rather than just a few servers being the outliers.
  14. No matter how many arguments people throw out in favour of this beta or alliances and stuff that would make it good, or claims that this beta was better than a usual week, is the very real on the ground fact that multiple (high tier) 'servers' struggled with population and had large periods of heavy outnumbered maps because no one was playing, in a week where they pushed the double XP event to get players to play. So let me state that again just to be very clear; you are making the bizarre argument that this beta is a success while we have *lower* player participation in a week you're handing out double xp to lure them in. If people don't want to show up in a double xp week, something else must be really bad, wonder what it is, but just maybe, it's the beta.
  15. If you mean what matchup (can't call these 'teams' with bad names servers...) Skrittsburgh. There are no Tiers, because this is a beta without a working tier system.
  16. Matchups on servers / serverlinks I play on are rarely decided by Tuesday evening. Decided as in, the whole server could afk 3 days and still end up with more points, like now, not decided as in, you can fairly predict who wins but they still have to hold their lead. That second one was already the case the first day of this new pairing. If a team on the pairing can take whatever objective they want whenever they want it, regularly outnumbers maps and can keep objectives for many days on end, that is by all means a stomp. Doesn't matter what numbers you bring to the table. Those bars you present are also super misleading to begin with, because they take total score, rather than difference in score. If a test result can be between 520 and 550, and I show everyone's results with the full bar, the differences look very small. After all, a 10 points difference there (while actually massive in reality) looks tiny on a bar of over 500. It's basic statistics manipulation, and either you don't know that, or you do and you just want to use it to your advantage. Either one of them make me value your input in all this very little to be honest.
  17. Your bars look nice in this format but they hide the truth well. Add to that that many of the dominant servers don't care too much about skirmish points because you're not playing towards a next week, so they instead just farm some people or claim whatever they feel like claiming rather than playing smart to win the skirmish harder. Even with that taken into account, being 74 points down on Wednesday evening is what we call a stomp. That means you didn't even need to play these last 3 days out. And pointswise the fact that some small squads do smart PPTing here and there makes it look better than it is. But if you know where to look and how many maps are outnumbered for hours on end, you know what the true story is. Nobody holds garrisons for 5+ days in competitive matchups, period.
  18. You've got to be joking. Almost every EU matchup is a stomp one way or the other. Constantly outnumbered on some servers during evenings/primetime even. You guys have all these delusional ideas about people who complain coming from numerous servers that are used to overwhelming the enemy, but that's not the case at all. These servers get matched with similar matchups very soon and pairings are regularly very close. These weeks, not so much. You know who comes 1-2-3 after two days and it's done and dusted right there. Very bad system indeed, and if players get the hang of gaming that system more, it will be even worse. They'll team up with all roamer/pvp guilds to just stomp on people until much of the population of WvW just moves to game modes they do actually get to play in. Alliances will kill WvW as we know it and make it only appeal to the top 20% or so of hardcore pvp/wvw guilds that want to organize and practice and be hyper competitive.
  19. This is exactly why the current system is a 100 times better than any alliance stuff. Randoms on active servers can learn and become connected. In the new set-up you get new random chaff every couple of weeks. You won't know or recognize anybody, and nobody will make an effort to have them understand WvW better, because some weeks from now they'll be gone and you get new randoms. And it forces you to join a WvW guild or perish. That's quite something to ask of people. Anet mistakenly believes every WvW player to be a dedicated wvw only player. Because all the people that occasionally play the mode and can now always return to familiarity and 'their' server, will get thrown out of WvW with alliances because it's been actively designed to not be for them anymore.
  20. It is very bothering, as sometimes you don't have anything to even do in WvW at that point. All they can contest are base spawn camps. But that happens very rarely. It's not about bullying, you don't understand the basics if you think that. It's about multiple worlds with fair amounts of activity and player base going against each other, which happens pretty fast in the old system because of tier pairings. Here, you just get screwed randomly and there is no system in place to fix or address it. And it will be worse if in all that random screwing and volatility, players get to meddle with it or game the system and move around all the time. It will be impossible to create decent pairings. Seems like all the frequent commenters here that want this sytem happen to be from underpopulated wvw servers atm, so it's understandable they would like a fix. But this begs the question, why didn't you fix this for yourself years ago? You could've moved to a more populated wvw server and just be fine under the current system. You choose not to, and instead clammor for this system nobody but you actually prefers. Why?
  21. I rarely have that issue normally, and you can rarely have that option too, if you just move to an active server. This however, randomly screws people over or not, is completely unbalanced, and will be a nightmare if actually introduced that pretty much ends wvw.
  22. And this one lasts two weeks. Great. Outnumbered on every map, nobody playing in this 'world'. People don't want GvG, and they're making it clear by sitting these betas out en-mass. Please just stop catering to the very vocal 5% who think Alliances is a good idea and what they want, and start making actual content for WvW rather than spending time and resources on a system nobody wants that will only hurt WvW overall.
  23. Nope, nice try. Reading comprehension not leveled yet? Let's not address any of the points raised because you've got no arguments, but just insinuate someone must be new because they bring arguments you don't like.
  24. Yet moving is free outside of it. Right now there is a high cost of moving, which heavily discourages it. If moving around was the issue, nothing is stopping Anet from limiting it now, you don't need Alliances to fix that, so it's a completely false argument.
