  1. I'll admit that an easier mode is generally not that effective as a training ground for harder mode. However, it is a way for more people to experience the content, and it would substantially reduce the hostility toward raider elitism. I don't see many people complaining about Fractals T4.
  2. Maybe, but at least raids are experienced by the majority of the players. And there are still dedicated groups for normal mode raids and even mythic difficulty.
  3. Unlike the mount lootboxes that had real ethic problems attaches to them (addiction, unclear pricing, and anti-consumer practices), there is nothing wrong with an overpriced mount skin. It's clear : either you think it's worth it, or you don't. Personally, I'd buy a single mount skin for 1000 gems if I really like it. But most likely, I'll wait for a bundle of 5 skins for 2000 gems that I like. In the meantime, I'm in no hurry.
  4. You can still do it the old way by limiting yourself, as a challenge, so yeah, I don't see this as a huge priority either.
  5. The problem is that if I want one skin among the 30, I can't tell its price. It's something between 400 and 12000 gems, and it seems the amount needed to be guaranteed to have the skin you want is...9600 gems, either by buying enough licenses to have a statistically good chance to have the skin I want, or buying the full pack. 9600 gems for one skin is a bit much, wouldn't you say? But the worse part is that I can't even say it's the real price of one skin, because it's random! Of course, more skins you're interested in means lesser cost. Still, the RNG price makes things very unclear and unnecessarily complex. One skin, one price, deal with it, like the Jackal skin, this is good business practice. You may not like the amount, but you can make an informed decision in an instant. This is not the case with the adoption licenses. RNG means that instead of spending a fix albeit big amount of money and feeling good about supporting A-Net, I spend a little bit, most likely do not feel satisfied, and either stop spending or keep spending little bit by little bit until I've spent more than I intended to in order to get what I wanted, and still feel bad about it. If anything, it's really not in the interest of A-Net to promote such practice, it gives them a bad image, and even if people do buy those licenses to support A-Net, they most likely won't feel good about it! And you're right, it's optional, buying skins is a way to support A-Net. So I beg them to let me support them and not feel bad about it! It's a psychological disaster!
  6. Ok, I don't care if I get some hate for this but...If you don't like something in the gem store, DON'T BUY IT. Before anyone jump toward the sky, no, I don't think RNG lootboxes for mount skins is reasonable, it makes the price for a single skin very unclear, and it indeed predates on some psychological weaknesses...like many frequent commercial practices, if I may add. There is only one real answer : DO NOT BUY IT. I've lost the count of people saying "ho, yeah, it's atrocious, I had 400-800 gems laying there so I bought one-two licenses to test, didn't get what I wanted, and now I'm unhappy." Uuuuuuuuurgh, what? I'm sorry, but if I put a random green on the TP for 10.000 gold and someone buys it, it's not my fault. Of course, in the mount adoption licences case, it's a little more complex, because it does predate on curiosity, impatience, lack of self-control, and straight lack of reflection... I'm sorry, but if you bought one-two licenses to "test", all you can complain about is being manipulated (which many people do, to be fair), but I'm afraid it's a weak weak complain, as NOTHING about those lootboxes was convoluted. People just feel entitled to have more than the default skins and are pissed off when they're too weak to resist some really obvious attempt at manipulating them. Shared responsability at its worse, it's a loose-loose situation. Again, I'm not saying those lootboxes are ok, but I really wish people had more control over themselves, it would make the whole argument against random lootboxes much much stronger than it is now.
  7. Then how do you call the fact that you can buy something and not get what you're aiming for? I want X Skins, but I have to buy Y tickets to get them, where Y is a random number between X and, in this case, 30ish.
  8. Another player, another opinion : as long as there is a reasonable exchange rate from Gold to Gems, I take any complaint about the Gem store practices with a grain of salt. That being said, I'm taking the opportunity to say that I'm not interested in a gambling chance for one among 30 skins. If I want to gamble to support A-net, that's what Black Lion Keys are for, I've already bought some fully aware that they were just that : gambling to support. But cosmetic items, I'm not interested in gambling for. I'll add that I'd be ready to spend as much as 1000 gems for a single mount skin that I can freely choose.
