  1. does toughness really draw aggro? - generally speakingi know there are some raid bosses that fix on the person with the most toughness - for anything else its been almost a mystery.there is a table of threat with multiple factors for most enemies, but we dont know how it works. toughness is just one part of it for some mobs.as far as i know nobody ever managed to reverse engineer what the game actually calculates. (enlighten me, if i am wrong)my personal observation is - sometimes i tank, sometimes i dont. the very few occasion, where i know it is due to toughness i either shouldnt be running toughness (if i am not the tank for a specific boss) or it is not worth talking about bad traits, because there are so many different encounters where the toughness doesnt matter at all, in terms of aggroing. back to topic.i havent tested anything minion related lately, so i cant really say if OPs observation is true. there is always the possibility of some stealth change happening. (e.g. minions not tanking being a measure against idling aka (semi)afk-farming) actually i am a tiny bit confused by the phrasing.if minions dont hold aggro anymore and everything is on the necro - then minions should last longer, shouldnt they?they receive only a fraction of an npcs aoe-abilities too. http://dulfy.net/2015/10/19/gw2-upcoming-global-changes-to-player-minions/sounds more like the builds that use minions (even meta builds like the power reaper for raiding/fractals) would have been boosted that way.if the bigger issue however is the necro having to tank npcs, then there are options - i am sure - to adapt to that issue while keeping the minions if you would like. either way - necro did not become worthless all of a sudden. atm the opposite is happening. necro did catch up big time with other classes in organized pve-content. for casual playing necro always has been and probably will always be one of the most forgiving profession on top of that. try to give us some more insight.the content you play (open world and events/soloing dungeons/wvw/spvp/fractals/raids)what changed along the way (if it did)? equipment/traits/maps/regions on maps/dungeons/mobs/episode of living storydid you play for hours? or did it happen 4-5 times when you last logged in, compared to what you felt happened the last 2 months."it doesnt work, its broken" is insufficient when there is nothing to count on (patchnotes, evidences and so on). cheers :)
  2. Its not really an off hand choice if you ask me. You can decide if you have a better WH skin or Focus skin for your outfit since you wont use anything of either in DPS phases. I brought a Focus to the last Dhuum raid for Focus5 but other than that I believe it doesnt really matter which one you bring. still using the wh for the extra LF generation IN shroud, to maintain shroud for the full 10sec even if you eat some dmgif i ever feel like i cant get LF up until shroud is rdy again (below 50% that could be an issue during long fights) i am going to switch to focus. experience will tell
  3. good job! i do miss some choices/different approaches on some professions though.but i guess its a compromise - keeping it simple/short and still providing enough information.
  4. just scrap it all and stick to the slow theme.dont make the reaper teleport and jump around like a thief - glue enemies to the reaper instead.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magebane_Tether_(trait_skill)was one of the best skill inventions of all time. unfortunately on the wrong e-spec :3
  5. EU or NA? the routing in EU to the server in frankfurt main germany can be lousy at times (Level3 server issues ... very well known for causing troubles on a regular basis. note: i am not an expert, i can only repeat what i was told(forum users and FAQ on provider websites)/what i can see on a pingplot)using a VPN helped me, when i faced a period of one to two weeks with a ping of 300-900ms (i live VERY close to frankfurt)... most services come at a mothly cost however, which is a big downside. in NA the servers moved i believe from NCSoft texas to amazon servers somewhere else and where/are causing high latency for many players (reddit is full of complains).
  6. i would use that toss elixir u in wvw on gravity wells... ah wait there is a bubble on top of that, that blocks projectiles. rip in general i like the new elixir u. the toss breakstun however is just an rng-maybe-works-on-someone-in-a-blob + quickness. but the quickness is nice!
  7. Masochists. Seriously though because it's fun. what s/he said
  8. Years ago many players tried to warn the community about the cancer of raids...we were not listened raids did not make the game worse. dps meter maybe did a thing, because you can visually minmax situations now by dps, not just by time - hence "ban" professions from encounters.does nobody recall the days of fiery greatsword? x ele + something that stacks might ... or more specifically the dungeon "meta" (the meaning of that abrevation: most effective tactic available) before raids existed? it was as cancerous and toxic as it is today. (to keep it a bit on topic... engineers were never part of any of those metas. if you had an engineer somewhere the profession was a toolkit for fire fields, smoke fields an blasts. all of which could be done (better) by a thief - except fire fields.)
  9. not sure if troll or not. you basically recall what reaper was supposed to be? just minus shroud - the rest sounds so freaking similar
