They confirmed they are aware of the bug and that will fix it.

Could we tie on swaps effects to the F5 but make them only trigger at the F5? Kind of like overloads but for all swaps effects not just the hand full tempest gets.
The F5 is horrible to reach and rebinding it is also hard, I have everything bound and set already for years now. I was thinking on makroing the F5 into the F1...F4 as a condition sequence just to come around that.

hammer and augments are also pretty boring too taking from other specs. mostly weaver.
hammer 3 is essentially weave self, and augments are essentially weaver stances. the class mechanic is also pretty boring too just being glorified wells. But they added F5 to make it different from how tempest does it without any benefit and only making the class kitten to play to begin with 🙂
There are so many more than 3 major problems here 🙂

I still think 3 main things are almost mandatory and then add further changes down the line:
- Remove Energy and make it the cooldown only
- Bake the F5 into the F1-F4 like Tempest does
- Remove the 10 stack condition on the gm trait
Then what I would further like:
- Increase the empowered elements duration by 33% with the gm trait
- rework some core weapons that dont have good access to finishers to have them
- Remove the 10% dmg reduction from Quickness. You already lose 10% stats AND 10% dmg by not taking the dps traits. Further shafting is not needed.
This would not actually increase top end DPS but would open up the class to a greater audience by removing the pain to play it without dumbing the meta rotation all too much.

Thats what seperates good from Bad weavers. Having the right attunements up at the right time.
While i somewhat like the idea... because... why not... just give weaver something so its more appealing to the broad masses. But then again..... how about.... you just slot Unravel!?
But in general... doubleattuning is not something you should do.... There is very little reason to fully attune except when running dagger.
And in PvE one of the dps traits forces you into double attuning, but that's a limited use case.

Why would you make a condi build with elemental surge and not take arcane power? Also will you ever reach 10 stacks for the 20% boost in stats? At that pont the stab might net more dps.

While I get the sentiment, I also see what Anet are going for with putting alac on Overloads.
If you put it on shouts or auras you really are kinda limiting non-healer Alacrity builds since they either would use up utility slots or pigeon-hole you into running aurasharre (and therefor water traits over fire/air)Yeah but that can be adressed by putting it on both auras AND overloads:
- For DPS, it could pulse 1s alac every 1s +3s upon completion (7s per overload). You need the trait and quite some alacduration and the trait as a downside
- For support, it would do the same, but also on auras (x seconds, would have to be balanced), also needing you doing 1 overload (instead of 2 from dps) to achieve 100% uptime. That way you have more freedom but still enough of a downside from providing alac.

I get a lot of questions about which variant of condi weaver I would recommend most. So, let's start with a brief description encompassing the relative strengths and weaknesses of the two basic variants I use myself in open world.
Fire/Arcane - This variant has strong passive sustain, but less than Fire/Earth. It is a more flexible build with better evasion and recovery, but lower damage than Fire/Earth. It is a bit harder to play on account of relying more on active avoidance, combos, and evasive arcana dodge effects. Recommended for a fun and frenetic play style that can handle practically anything!
Fire/Earth - This variant is more straightforward. It has extreme passive sustain and big, bursty damage, but not a whole lot else in the defensive toolkit. It is relatively easy to play because it can stand toe-to-toe even with hard-hitting champions and burn them down quickly. However, it does not do as well under heavy pressure and does not recover as easily as Fire/Arcane.
Is the weakness from the weaver trait worth more than the additional hp?

I don't like this idea just like I dislike the archer idea.
If you really get down to it, majority of Elementalist builds only use 1 or 2 attunements (i.e. Power DPS Weaver is Fire/Air, Condi Weaver DPS is Fire/Earth). This idea just removes the flexibility given to Elementalist.
Personally, I would like our next elite spec to play with the shroud mechanic.
I completely understand. The issue is that especially weaver feels balanced around some insane 4 attunement switches and to remove this disadvantage of the balancing the idea was to remove access. Ofc a change in balance philosophy would be sufficent enough to solve this issue.

Meaningful core necro and reaper buffs. Deep elementalist reworks, including flat out erasing some utility types and thinking up others. Removal of energy from catalyst.
Yeah right? Energy on catalyst and somehow also the F5 are both totally unneeded mechanics. Put the field on the attunement like tempest and remove energy (a CD does it).
Having the F5 is jsut to make it different from tempest, is so dumb bad design and almost prevents me from playing the spec properly, I really hate it.- 2

And yet it was made by the guy who has 2k axe FB time. Its funny how that balance dev who balances FB and designed Mechanist wanted salt from the fans from the June 28th patch. That discord conversation was something else.
the 2 most broken classes the game has ever seen, both balanced/designed by the same person.
That they dont have (had?) checks in place to prevent such literal trolling I will never understand.

I certainly hope it's not rifle. That suits ele even less than people think hammer does. Hammer at least makes sense with things like earth attunement. Going rifle would turn ele into something like engineer which would be awful. Rather have something like ling or shortbow that would be more likely to see more elemental mage like spells. Rather than something from borderlands.
And because probably many of us think this way it's gonna be rifle 🙂

Glad there is finally some movement on this. Good luck! If I could communicate one thing, it would be this:
- a month is a long time
- 4 months is a really really long time
- a year is an eternity
- 2 years is the entire lifespan of many popular games
Please for the love of this game, don't let things languish for that long
This is actually so kitten important. If pvp leagues need some stable balance Im okay with that. But PvE/WvW could need medium sized tweaks on a 4 week schedule with bigger stuff on a 2-3 month schedule. 1 or 2 balance patches a year for PvE when some things are this busted makes no sense. Also we have seen how much can be done in little time. Push the tempo.

Would really love staff fire 1 getting a projectile finisher to at least make it a bit better on cata. Nothing ground breaking, but also thematically a good thing Id say.
Earth auto could give bleed without being op too.

Playing very similarish builds for many years now, but the song was new to me. Like it, thanks 🙂
If you dont care about max dps potential you can change to 27k hp and be last man standing on pretty much any boss while only loosing about 15% dps, which still is easily enough for any non-cm pug raid, strike or fractal. If you wanna get super selfish, arcane shield is a very solid life safer. And for some dps less the auto stunbreak from tempest adept line is really solid on things like Sloth pugging or open world. Can also now also build in some aegis or stab with the shouts if needed. -

Not only do I hate the way the Jade Sphere works (feels like absolutely nothing when you use it, unlike an overload which feels powerful), I also find it extremely annoying that my magical character that can summon a STORM OF LIGHTNING using his own power needs a piece of ENGINEER TECH to use his abilities.
I'm an Elementalist. When I want to mess around with holograms and junk I play my Engineer.
I absolutely detest using this off-theme piece of mechanical trash to use my own magic.
I can summon an ACTUAL PHOENIX MADE OF FIRE with the scepter, yet you want me to use a piece of technojunk to project a fake picture of a dancing water horse?
Wait until we finally get the ranged weapon many of us want and it is a rifle next xpac....

Maybe VERY UNPOPULAR idea but I just had the "shower though" of a way to make a non/reduced attunement swap ele possible:
Elite spec with the downside that you lose all attunement that you did not have the traitline for.
- You could have a minimum of one and a maximum of two attunements available by design (either take arcane + element or 2 elements = meaningful decision)
- You would get weapon swap as an upside
- Every trait that activates on attunement swap would also activate on weapon swap (just like every effect that activates on weapon swap also activates on attunement swap already)
- The new elite might boost all dmg of chosen attunements and further reduce cd (has to be balanced around this ofc)
I think that this could actually work and change how elementalist plays in a meaningful way. Also it does not need a complete rebalance of all weapons as they are balanced around having multiple attunements availabe. If you take them away you can increase the power of everything with the elite mechanic.

Answer is warrior.
It's funny but some classes have been untouched, lackluster and unplayed in pve for years.
But if warrior get's gutted to that point
- there are emergency patches after days/weeks
- ppl get shifted in and out of the balance team
- the whole balance philosophy get's changed
Not that this is a bad thing, that they said they change their philosophy (we will see if they actually do, one of the biggest targets of that philosophy change should be elementalist) but what happened when other specs were and still are at lower lows than warrior ever was? Nothing

If they introduce new professions instead of new elites with expansions that might be the point where I leave the game behind (unless this happens like 2-3 more expansions down the line 🙂 )

Elementalist, I just like the elements, can't fit into any other class really 😞

Arcane Power: no longer grants stacks "arcane power" (was +75 ferocity) now just grants a flat 10%-15% crit damage buff to you and teammates for 5-10 seconds. grants fury and 5 might for 10s as well
just some extra damage output for the ele and others around them, bit boring but powerful
I am a bit shocked that no one mentiones that Arcane Power combined with Arcane Surge is one of the strongest condidmg utility skills (also incredible burst) we currently have in our arsenal. Removing the stacks like this would completely gut it's dmg. It can be used in fire centric condi speccs, especially great in less complex pure burn tempest setups.

Not really plenty of classes do more damage, i mean numbers dont lie
Numbers on real life average ppl doing actual pve encounters or just top 0.5% players grinding golem?
Edit: Numbers dont lie, but ppl often lie using numbers out of context 😉

Okay I do not get the outbreak. Doesn't it do the exact same maximum potential damage as before, just a bit more potential aoe while less guaranteed single target?! Also the aoe is better avoideable as it seems to be more visible. How on earth is this considered a buff?!
