  1. Greetings. Can anyone confirm whether individuals actually ever get banned when they are accurately reported? Just had a teammate rage-quit because he kept running into groups of enemies on his own and then proceeded to swear at us while idling. Then he was matched with 2 of us again in the next match so he afk'd the entire match to focus on swearing at us. again. -.- It would help with my perseverance if I knew people could occasionally, actually, get booted from pvp if appropriate?
  2. The two things I'd really like are utility items, not fashion. I'd love a black lion salvage kit storage box - which just let you store all your bls kit charges in a single shared inventory slot. That and a home instance node near the entrance which gave a 10 minute buff on activating which gave quickness and super speed for 5 seconds every time you started harvesting a node or opening a container - to help you loot all your home instance nodes a little bit faster.
  3. Yes. On how to play my class and what other classes were supposed to be good at. Though I'm guessing thats a vote towards me just getting worse at the game 😛
  4. *A crotchety old man limps up to the bar* A question for all you young whippersnappers: Has it become harder to compete in SPvP over the seasons? I've been playing GW2 since the Karka queen event and I've gone from (at my prime) Upper gold rank to (in PoF) lower gold rank and finally (EOD) to getting summarily crushed in conquest. Seriously, I'm dragging myself through pvp as a way to get legendary medium armor and I'm consistently losing 3 out of 4 matches - and given the exchanges in those matches, I'm just being carried in 1 of 4 rounds. The most obvious answer to my plight (and the pugs matched with me) is I've just gotten too old to compete... at the ancient age of 30. That aside though, it feels like not only are the new elite specs more powerful but they have a much higher skill cap then the builds of old - even for players at bottom silver. I used to stick to fairly simple builds like necro/reaper, guardian/dragonhunter and occasionally revenant/smork but it seems one now has to consistently pull off much more complicated combos to even dent the hp of other players. Not sure if its just a load of bots, if all the worse players fled in prior seasons or if I've just gotten really bad at computer games. I was personally hoping I'd drop to copper where I seem to belong but I keep winning half of my kitten ranking matches and getting placed mid-silver over and over again -.- So back to the question: Is playing PvP more complex at all levels then it used to be - or do I just need to be wheeled off to a retirement home?
  5. The infinte lure seems odd for two reasons. First off it seemed like an obvious way to give jewelcrafters ascended and legendary recipes. Secondly, really don't like top stats being tied to a gem item - as thats coming uncomfortably close to pay to win - and woe unto you should consumable lures come out with catch stat bonuses higher then 100.
  6. The cores being individual specific makes sense to me. It would be nice if there were more expensive versions of the jade bot modules which were account bound though. Hopefully Anet will introduce ascended or legendary jade bot modules later with stronger effects and one time unlocks - and you'll just have to research salvage the durman priory to afford them 😛
  7. I wish there was a valid reason to use it but as is, its just a damage decrease which prevents you from tagging mobs for loot in group content. If they gave the main rider the ability to fire the cannons as well (on a separate ammo count) it would be fun enough to use despite the dps loss. As the only mount you can use in battle, I feel the most novel niche which could be developed for the turtle would be as a commander "chariot" which got stronger the more people there were in the commander's squad. For instance, give four 15 minute cooldown abilities with each consecutive one being unlocked for every 10 people in the squad - then flavor the abilities to actually help casuals learn group mechanics. These abilities would not be designed to be reused multiple times in a single event, rather they would allow a commander to sufficiently mitigate a boss fight mechanic a single time to help people learn what to do. 10 in squad ability: Jade Shell: Creates a defensive dome around the commander's turtle mount (with green arrows pointing down to it) for 10 seconds and gives everyone inside the dome protection and a stability. Will res up to 4 players downed in the dome while its up but will unsummon the commander's turtle in 4 players are ressed. 20 in squad ability: Choya Style: Gives everyone superspeed, aegis and a low gravity jump for 10 seconds. 30 in squad ability: Prismatic renewal: Extremely large area healing ability - double the healing of regen per second (including to downed players) but completely drains the turtles stability bar in 10 seconds - which will cause it to de-summon. 40 in squad ability: Contingency Waypoint: In a massive swirl of sparky fx, the turtle summons a jade tech waypoint above its head for 10 seconds which anyone in the squad can port to. After 10 seconds the turtle unsummons. 20 in squad passive: The turtle mount can receive boons and be healed by other players.
  8. Thanks. Looked for the portal in the ocean for a while but couldn't find it. Eventually just asked a stranger to help me with a teleport-to-friend.
  9. Greetings! Finished the EoD story and have the arborstone scroll for reaching the Cantha regions for alt characters. There doesnt seem to be a way to get to Seitung province by foot though :p. Do I need to use a teleport to friend (need to be social for that) or is there some way to get from the echowilds to Seitung province on my own?
  10. One simple request and two more complex request. 1) Seeing as we unlikely to ever get a black-lion-Salvage-O-Matic or an Ascended-Salvage-O-Matic for economic balance reasons, I'd love a gem store purchase which allowed me to put all my black lion salvage kits and ascended salvage kits in a single inventory item respectively. So the idea would be to have a black-lion-kit-tool-box which could consume any number of black lion salvage kits to gain equivalent salvage charges - and then those charges could be consumed to salvage items with the same bonuses as the baseline black lion salvage kits. So this is purely to reduce inventory clutter a bit by compressing all your black lion salvage kits into one item. And obviously the same could be done for ascended salvaging kits. 2) I'd really like a black lion utility belt. I've been collecting black lion power-ups, black lion merchants and exp boosters for years. While they all fairly useful in extremely niche situations, I'm not wasting 20 inventory slots to carry them in the off chance one may be useful. The idea of the utility belt would be a separate (horizontal) inventory tab you could access by pressing some button on screen that could only house black lion consumables. So you'd be carrying all your odd utility items in your utility belt. Like batman 😛 3)The cost of using waypoints tears at my soul. While you obviously can't just add a gemstore purchase that just reduces the cost of teleporting to waypoints directly (cause economy), a more involved discount system may be viable. The idea would be to get an inventory item which can track how much experience you've gotten on a given map. If you leave a map by any means the experience charge is lost but if you generate 1/4 of an experience bar without leaving the map, the next waypoint teleport you make will have its cost halved. You could call it something like an "Auxiliary teleportation harmonizer" with a description that reads "Makes waypoint teleportation more efficient if given time to perform calculations and absorb ambient magic". It would probably also work well as an enrichment slot item as opposed to an inventory item - as losing 20% extra magic find for this bonus seems a worthy trade-off to ponder.
  11. The friends I used to play guild wars 2 with ditched the game during the first living world season - when once off events like the Lion's arch karka invasion were in effect. HoT was such a mess up they passed it by but when PoF released, I practically preached about how well the game had been fixed up. Three of them started playing and then this gambling fest is shoved in. I am literally ashamed to have brought my friend group back into this. We are at a point in gaming where inquiries are being launched into the morality of gaming loot boxes with the ends of changing the definition of gambling to encompass them - then Anet drops this nonsense? Like 25 of these mounts are re-skins with particle effects glued on top. Half hour creations which could have been done by graduate interns and yet they are being priced higher then most items in the game? 2000 gems for a mount skin - which from what ive heard isn't even included in the rng-contract table? MMOs arent just stores, they places where communities invest huge amounts of time in a virtual world - usually because they have some love for that virtual world and faith in its general direction. When a company drops this sort of cash grab on the community the soonest moment they can, people dont just question the morality of the current con, they question the direction of every decision to come. I thought devs were wondering whether they were going to even going to make mount skins - apparently they went from that mind-frame to creating 2000 gem items in the period of two months. This has been the only MMO I've played for 3 years. I'm fairly invested in it but at this point I think I'm going to start looking for a new place to sink my time into - preferably with the pay-model mindset Anet had from vanilla to hot.
