  1. Hello,Decided to refresh my very old idea (I know, someone posted something similar in 2019, but my original idea was from 2015 ;) ).

So I am asking for your feedback, ideas and opinions - would You like to see it in game?

    hzqyGAt.png

    Below gallery and features explained:

How to get them? They would be distributed in few ways:

    Gemstore (gems)

    • Player can buy 'special' singles/sets. They would have fixed price (and possible discount for sets).
    • Sets should have Collection Achievement
    • Postcards should cost around 125 gems, stamps around 75 (since they are minor cosmetics)

    Trading Post (gold)

    • Players would be able to trade stamps and postards which are non-account bound ones.

    Vendors (gold, karma, currencies)

    • Some vendors would provide 'unique' stamps/postcards (buyable only from vendor).
    • Festival Stamps/Postcards (except gemstore ones)
    • New Map Stamp(s)/Postcard(s)
    • Uniques for collection (for example to travel around Tyria to get the most rare ones for collection achievement)
    • PvP Collection
    • WvW Collection

    Open World & Jumping Puzzles

    • Chance to receive random stamp (non-gemstore ones) on Jumping Puzzle (Jumping Puzzle series) completion or Doing World Boss (World Boss series). Maybe stamps/postcards from dungeons? Why not!
    • Other idea is to make [unidentified Stamp/Postcard] - so people would have to 'check' what is this item (from very common to rare and hard to drop one).

Did they would be a single use item? No! Once you unlock stamp or postcard, you can use it infinitely.

Do they will be account bound? Some of will be. The non-bound ones would work like miniatures - as long as you won't add them to your collection ( = used ), they would be tradeable.

    What Stamps/Postcards would provide?

    • Collector's value (Achievement Points in Collections section)
    • New aesthetics to personalize messages
    • Small impact on gold/gems economy
    • New activity (collecting) for players
    • Stamp-Collector title? (for selected achievement)
    • Postcard-Collector title? (for selected achievement)
    • new mail received visuals (see gallery below)

Cool! But can you show example of collection?Sure!"Halloween Collection 1333AE" example (postcard + 6 stamps, 1AP if obtained 1 item, +1AP if obtained 3, +1AP if got all, 3AP in total) - 450 gems in gemstore for set:

    • Halloween in Lion's Arch 1333AE Postcard
    • Mad King Thorn 1333AE Stamp
    • Halloween in Lion's Arch 1333AE Stamp
    • Carving Pumpkins 1333AE Stamp
    • Mad Memories 1333AE Stamp
    • Steve the Chainsaw Skeleton 1333AE Stamp
    • Mad King Says 1333AE Stamp

"Bjora Marches Collection" example ( 2 postcards + 4 stamps, 1AP if obtained 1 item, +1AP if obtained 3, +1AP if got all, 3AP in total):

    • Bjora Marches Postcard (obtained by achievement)
    • Boneskinner Stamp (possible drop from Raven Sanctum Strike Missions)
    • Raven Spirit Stamp (possible drop from mobs on map)// second half added with new update
    • Bjora Marches II Postcard (obtained by achievement)
    • Drakkar Stamp (possible drop from Drakkar)
    • Whisper of Jormag Stamp (possible drop from WoJ Strike Mission)

GalleryqWbc0gK.pnghzqyGAt.pngl0IEx2q.gifJtc3Vdj.gifGwo8n9N.pngtVGnywH.pngfApM5Ch.png[That "popup" also would be Configurable in Settings, so it would be possible to turn it off, and size of it would be around 300 x 150 px]

    1. Pls have training bots in Guild hallI assume you asked for PvE kind of 'Training Golem'? Hmmm, I think it could be doable but... does it is really necessary? Raid Lobby and Fractals Instance have them already. I see some issues with implementations (and DPS tracking and so on), so duh, no idea.

    2. Pls have Megaserver information on Guilds, as it is essential for players to know where they reside before joining a Guild. (NA/EU/OC)This could be really nice and useful (added to list on Trello board). At least it should show region (EU / NA) where account is currently active. I think they will not update informations about servers people are playing, since probably it will be removed when Alliances will be relased.

    3. More exclusive outfits to the Guild hall.I don't know what you mean by outfits. Guild Halls in general as locations? Yeah, I'd love to see more various Guild Halls.

    4. Why is Guild weaponary missing Great sword and Single handed sword??If you mean Guild Weapons https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_weapon_skins I agree they should add missing ones. Also added it on Trello board.

  3. Recent changes:

    • Monetized new Guild Bank Tabs (MARKET category)
    • Suggestion for Food/Utility Consumables - they should show on preview in Guild Panel what stats/effects are granted on usage in (OTHERS category)
    • Suggestion to add missing Guild Siege Weapon Services for Favor (OTHER category)

  4. @"Astralporing.1957" said:It's worse than that. There never was a guild team. All guild stuff was done by devs from other teams, as an one-off project assignments.

Afaik they had assigned team for it, but still, 70% of my ideas could be developed over the "legacy code". That means, most of features have already implementation (or strong basis over already working code on production), just needs some copy-paste as a "new feature" and some modifications (mini merchants, decoration merchants, node upgrades... literally you can use systems for existing ones, just replace data for new offered items/upgrades). Other 10% is easy level job to do (that music player for example, the only challenge would be to synchronize it with other players, but there are many options and ways how to do it). Rest is either new stuff, or requires changes in legacy code to change functionality (example: rank permissions which I mentioned so often in this topic, they're mess and need to have split some checkboxes to precise access for guild members + new log options).

  5. @"lokh.2695" said:You put a lot of effort into this. But guilds will never be a thing in GUILDwars2. The have proven to be hard to monetize and some people feel excluded when they can't play this MMO as a single player game.

I'd not agree with Guild Hall being hard to monetize. I already found 5 ways (two first are on trello boards), examples:

    • Additional Guild Slots (400 gems per each, 1600 per 5), so you can have more than 5 - roleplayers will buy them with "take my money" meme style. People who plays PvX aswell, since they often have guild per each gamemode (or two, or even more). It would be also easy to navigate since we have already /g1 ... /g5, so it would be /g6 ... /g0, then can be like /g11 and so on.
    • Music Console in Guild Hall (you can read more about idea on Trello board). In short, monetization would be additional playlists to play (so people would be able to store holiday playlists, for moods, events etc.
    • Exclusive Decorations (for example quality like Uzolan's Mechanical Orchestra) - it would be interactable and do some cool stuff. Imagine Dance Dance Revolution mat (800 gems), or maybe kind of Metal Legion Stage with playable instruments on it. It would be costly(2400 gems?) but at the same time cool. And for example they'd have included minigames - like doing dancing moves or to play notes as song goes. I think a lot of people would buy them, if they would have nice functionality for social purposes. And it wouldn't kill gemstore instruments, since they would be still bound to Guild Hall.
    • Additional Guild Stash tabs (since tab grant 100 slots, could be for example worthy 1600 gems).
    • Additional Gathering Nodes (LWS currencies? Hunter Contracts? 600 gems per node).

Remember, Guild Hall is huge money sink anyway. If people spend gold on upgrades, it's more likely they will buy gems then for gemstore stuff. Plus, it regulates more or less game economy too.

About excluded people, there will be always group like this. Excluded because they don't play pvp (and how PvPers can have their exclusive rewards, outrageous), don't play WvW(give us new content! oh no, desert borderland sucks, don't give us new content anymore), don't do Raids... and so on. After all, it's MMO and RPG game. There is plenty of single player games for them on market if they want to be anti-social and probably "better" than GW2, if they look for singleplayer content with lore and visuals and all. Guild Wars 2 actually should offer more to guilds - that's why I kinda tried to make Guild Hall meaningful a bit with my ideas (and still be balanced and not excluding much these single player guys you mentioned) - to give some perks for guildies and social activities. Guild Wars 2 lacks of social stuff (when How to Dance vol.1 was relased? hm?) - people plays MMOs mainly to have fun with others to be honest.

Since Arena.net teases about "Alliances"(soon.TM) it would be nice to have at least some stuff I've mentioned on Trello board (under category "Others") sorted, updated and fixed. Because priviliges for members are mess and hard to manage, log doesn't store some crucial informations, and more is lacking some important stuff.

  6. Recent changes:

    • The ability to chang the guilds name!

this. right now afaik to change a guild's name you have you go through support and they have to check if you're the leader or something.

wish they released a UI option tucked somewhere in the guild menu where, as the highest ranked guild member/leader, you pay in gold or gems (but ideally with gold) to change a guild's name.

Yep, I've included it on Trello board as idea in Others. Also made some restrictions to not abuse with too often Guild Name changes. :)

To be honest highest priority would be now to fix permissions for ranks (it's a mess to manage them in current state). That should be the first step to do, if they wanna introduce Alliances. Same with stored in Guild consumables/banners/siege etc. - usage should be on log (separate categories for it?).

  9. https://i.imgur.com/yD1ZWtd.pngWe started our journey in March 2016 as small group of friends on Skype. Now we have around 600++ members in our community! (in-game guild + Discord members)

    • Charr Against Humanity is a guild for Charr players and enthusiasts.
    • CAH is open community, which doesn't require represent and attendance (acting like a 'hub' for people).
    • Guild operates on EU and NA servers. (tho majority plays on EU, because of guild origins)
    • We generally play PvX, which means our guildies plays mostly every game mode.
    • We also like to talk about random thingies and topics (not only Guild Wars 2) in game and on discord server.
    • Additionally, we play on weekends Jackbox Games, Cards Against Humanity and/or other games as social activities.

    https://i.imgur.com/xhqBSW2.png

    • Discord Server - with custom GW2 emotes and separated LFGs for EU and NA
    • Event Calendar - now you never miss incoming events
    • PvE, PvP & WvW - map meta runs (EU), dailies and so on
    • Dungeons, Fractals, Strike Missions & Raids - for these who want more challenging content
    • Roleplay Events - feel free to join or host own one
    • Guild Hall - fully upgraded and decorated
    • Own Wiki - for guides, builds, roleplay purposes and other stuff
    • and more 🙂

https://i.imgur.com/WSQIZib.pngWe organize from time to time various Events and activities for guild and Guild Wars 2 community in game (tho mostly on EU side), for example:

Hmm I think ANet still wanna more or less monetize boosters, so instead would be better to "mill" them for example to:

    • LWS3 Currencies
    • LWS4 Currencies
    • Tome of Knowledge (some people would love them to level up/and/or spend for guild upgrades)
    • Mystic Coins
    • Mystic Clovers
    • Charged Quartz Crystals
    • Globs of Ectoplasm
    • and so on

Limit of purchases per week (for example can spend XXX to exchange for max 3 other thingies - something like festival vendors) and of course "junk items" can rotate - so it would keep economy healthy and ANet can adjust it freely.

And about merchant, I think perfect Merchant would be a Skritt, since they like to collect junk and shinies. ;D

Do this 5 days in a row and you get an achievement. Next week he wants resonating shards, next week aspergus or something.

Could be also possible to implement it as Guild Achievement.

I will update trello board soon with it.

    • More deco's per area
    • Higher decoration cap
    • Fion decoration guy reworkI've already mentioned them on Trello board under "Others" tab. ^^
    • not creating a new guildhall version every time a 5th, 11th or 21th player comes in.Oh yeah, I've forgot about this one. Added to "Others" tab!
    • New guildhall music (i see you've had a nice overview)Yup, and changed it recently a bit (with monetization option).I would love to see a guild stables, with guild mount skins.Expanded Rental Contract cards on Trello for that option, and added idea for skins (glider + mounts). Also more npc's roaming the guildhall (maybe we can set out own path? for guards?) this would make the guildhall's more aliveI was thinking about this one too. It's already on my todo list, just need to figure out 'the best' idea how it would be implemented with the least cost of human resources to code. :)And a reason for people to return to the hall. Quests, or converters for certain currencies. Was thinking about using Favor for it. It's also on my todo list. Maybe something with trading between races (cultural armor and weapons discounts?) or/and fractions (for example Elonians, Cantha, Ogres, Pirates or Corsairs, Itzel or Nucoch, Orders or Pact, a lot of possibilities for implementation).

    Recent changes on Trello boards:

    Guild Hall Upgrades (https://trello.com/b/PUKUbeIY/guild-hall-further-upgrades-guild-updates) :

    • Added idea to change GH instance scalling
    • Improved description of Rental Contract ideas + new functionality (new possible skins)
    • Some minor text fixes in descriptions.

    Guild Achievements ( https://trello.com/b/47fFm1do/guild-achievements-work-in-progress ) :

    • Some minor text fixes in descriptions.
  12. Same happens recently to me, I've installed newest drivers and all, nothing helps. Crash logs says it's Out of Memory problem (000000 & FFFFFFF codes).Tried to change page file (from controlled by OS to set 40GB space at start). Repaired client too, nothing helped. Crashes are totally random. Can be map swap, or just mount up, anything really which is so annoying.

    And my PC specs are:

    • AMD Ryzen 3900X
    • Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite
    • Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x16GB @3600MHz
    • Gigabyte RTX 2060 OC 6GB
  13. @"Marcelo.4210" said:Read it a while ago, and, this is one of the best posts on guild halls, the take is awsome. Most of those ideas have great ideas to add and, not fix but, make the halls an epic place! Other ideas like the change Tag and name with ease, in game would make guilds much more enjoyble to players of the game! Alot of quality of life and improvments that would be awsome to see!

Thanks for positive comment! Glad you like my ideas. :)

To be honest I tried to make small Quality of Life changes which in general shouldn't be too hard to code (like guild hall playlist - for example client can communicate with other's client timer who was first in GH to checkup which track is atm played, so servers doesn't need to handle it if we want synchronize music).

I am thinking about making (probably separated) Trello board with "Alliances" ideas.

    Changes on Trello boards:

    • Added optional Monetization option on Music Console idea: Playlists slots for 250 gems.
    • Additional info about suggested Guild Name changed option (some clarifications etc.)
  14. @"cptaylor.2670" said:You would think they would have incorporated races/strike missions/visions and such into the guild missions, but they never even included adventures or meta events or anything during Heart of Thorns.Well, I had just idea about monthly achievements. :P Tho new kinds of guild missions would be appreciated to be added.

@"cptaylor.2670" said:Seems like they could at least add in a plethora of guild decorations though. It seems like outside of festivals they've just shifted to adding them as purchasable tokens from vendors instead of creating bloated scribing recipes, which is the right decision, but they don't add that many.I think the reason why new decorations are so limited, is 'possibility' of upgrading Scribe from Master (400) to Grand Master (500). Atm Jeweler and Scribe doesn't have Grand Master crafting unlocked yet.

@"cptaylor.2670" said:Also would be nice to get another guild hall option during this season, as they make something completely different from the existing ones. Some old abandoned jotun with snowy mountains and dense Redwood-esque forest would be pretty awesome. I'm already picturing the mini tree houses I could build out of Festival of the Four Winds decorations and beetle race platforms!I agree. I'd like to see something mixed with Charr and Norn themes. So upper areas with snow and corrupted ice / dwarven ruins, some lodges; and for plains area ascalonian scenery with some ruins and ash legion recon camps, small outpost/keep with Iron/Blood and maybe Flame ritual shrine/structures somewhere. Something similar to Grothmar Valley mix with Bjora marches.

@len.7809 said:I'm still using scribe because I craft every year's lucky deco, but it gets more and more dissapointing every year. It shows how less they care about guild hall year by year.I always craft new decorations they add, just slightly improving 'visuals' of already decorated places in GH. But since I've hit decoration limit... well... hard to tell, I don't wanna destroy places which took me a while to decorate. That's why I've also suggested to raise up decoration limit from 2000 to 3000 and local from 20 to 30.

  15. @len.7809 said:They have to make Guild Hall meaningful, I'm in a WvW guild with Guild Hall maxed for a while, all we do with the guild hall is recollect materials, nothing else. Before the pip system, we used to craft guild siege weapons and WvW tactics, but now, you get easily 500 tactics with 500 skirmish boxes making crafting tactics meaningless.Yeah, to be honest as Scribe I've never needed to craft anything else than decorations. They should rework Guild Banquets, PvE Banners and WvW stuff crafted by scribes to actually be meaningfull to be crafted.

  16. @Donari.5237 said:Innnnteresting idea. Back when guild halls first debuted I expressed hope in these forums that we might get Caudecus Manor as a guild hall. Or at least a similar sprawling estate. Though I'd very much want a ballroom added, at this point I could forego that if ANet found it easier to just copy CM over as a hall. Given the story changes to CM, it could even fit lore-wise into letting a guild take over to "manage" it on behalf of whoever is the Minister now.

Racial themed Guild Halls would be awesome. Imagine them with some emptied past 'enemy'-zones for each race, so these enemies for example could 'guard' Claiming Crystals:

    • Human - Centaurs and/or Whitemantle ruins (Centaurs/Whitemantle as enemies to claim GH)
    • Sylvari - Nightmare Court (We have already Mordremoth enemies for Lost Precipice & Gilded Hollow)
    • Asura - Chak, Destroyers and/or Inquest
    • Norn - Icebrood, Svanir, and/or Kodan(runs of their settlement)
    • Charr - Ascalonian Ghosts and/or Branded

Or mixes of two races: Asura-Sylvari and Charr-Norn Guild Halls (with mixes of above stuff).

@Donari.5237 said:Though I've come to feel that the guild halls as implemented fell short of the potential. I'd rather put new customizable areas in the hands of individual players (as seen in the ESO housing system), with a brand new much more robust decorating system (again, refer to ESO for many superb ways of doing it, other than the egregious monetization and resource cost for simple layouts and decorations). I know that's a pipe dream, so tweaking the current guild halls as the OP suggests may be the most we can hope for.

I agree, Guilds and Guild Halls should get some 'fresh air' features. Better decorating system would be nice, but it probably require spaghetti coding implementation to overdrive current one. About 'housing' - I'd prefer to share my creations with guildies, never been fan of player's housing. :P

@"FrizzFreston.5290" said:I would give guild more power to start events(chains) in general. While probably not all of them are suited, player/guild generated events sound pretty cool to me. Of course I haven't seen all too many uses of the world event starters so maybe the popularity is limited, but since that's a daily thing there probably is very little need for it, vs the cost for it. I dunno.

Hmmm that would be indeed cool. Afaik we can launch only three world bosses (Tequatl, Triple Trouble and Karka Queen). I think it should be extended to each world boss. After all, some collections and achievements require specific boss to be defeated - so instead of waiting for sheduled spawn on Event Timer, you could be able to grab few guildies and LFG (if needed) and spawn any world boss.

Also would be awesome if they'd bring Marionette and Breachmaker encounters (in past I had idea to "upgrade" Guild Portal to something like Fractals of the Mists lab, which would allow you to enter no longer available past-encounters like mentioned while ago).

@"FrizzFreston.5290" said:I think the guild missions would or could be more like broad stories that tie a guild to a certain area with a certain (broadly covering content) task, like for example, helping the Kodan, or supporting the Lionguard, or fighting against the inquest. Which probably would need additions to content, additional achievements, maybe even additional events, but could make guilds alot more compelling, goal oriented and maybe coming with an (temporary) identity or goal for themselves.

Basically instead of Guild Missions being fairly meaningless small chores or tasks, it could be a Guild's Mission to help with a bigger objective with more permanence or roleplaying factor.Hmm that sounds like 'reputation' thingy, I wouldn't mind if ANet would implement something like that (for example, players can achieve own reputations with specific groups by helping them via doing events or trading goods, guild could just "boost" them with separated 'reputation', maybe by giving discounts to merchants or for goods).

Maybe, but to be honest I have no ideas how to 'improve' meaning of guild missions to be supportive for whole communities, not only for guild members. I'd have to think a while to invent something.

@"FrizzFreston.5290" said:EDIT: I suppose it could tie in with the monthly achievements for guilds I guess, but I personally don't like the need to come back every month to "farm guild montlies or whatever, time constraints seem unnecessarily limiting usually. That's why I wanted to make 'monthlies' to be... let's say 'daily routine' stuff - you would have super high chance to do them 'just by' - and each member would share their participation by doing such stuff just by being in guild - not even by representing. Making mandatory represent would be bad idea, because many people 'require' you to represent such guild, while a lot of people just wanna be in few various communities, with option to swap between represent as much as they want and/or need.

For period of 30 days it would be enough time to do it casually, and getting rewards at end of each month, wouldn't pressure people to 'let's do them as soon as possible'.

Also, it would have a 'side effect(s)' - because I had idea to increase available guild slots (250 gems for each new) - by doing for example progress of harvesting monthly achievement, you'd benefit each guild you're in.

So people might would be interested to buy some other guild slots (= money for company!) - for example to be in casual pvp/wvw guilds too, to play once or twice to also 'get counted' for categorized wvw/pvp achievements. Plus of that could be, people might try new game modes, minus of it might be people will just leech rewards and possibly creations of 'zombie' guilds which are focused just for rewards (but after all, some massive guilds are like this, so it couldn't do much harm anyway).

Also:Added some new stuff on Trello board + edited few things.

    • New Guild Halls would be indeed nice.
    • Ability of Switching Arena to PvP / WvW / PvE mode is also mentioned on Trello Boards
    • I kinda used some of your ideas for Monthly Guild Achievements (suggested by @Elrey.5472 )
    • Themed by Expansion Guild Missions are also mentioned
    • You can see more on posted links to Trello Boards :)

    Reply to @"hugo.4705"

    • Turning Dungeon "Fourth Path" to Guild Hall would be a nice idea, but I see some troubles and possibilities:
    • Will you have enough space to 'spawn' Mine, Tavern, War Room etc? It would probably require to add some new zones in them
    • Some dungeons are huuuuuuuuge some are smaller (compare TA to ARAH)
    • They have waypoints already tho implemented
    • About Decoration merchant. I have better idea - why to not scatter decos across Tyria? Why?
    • It would require people to re-visit some old places (for nostalgia)
    • It would put some effort to buy desired decoration
    • Would be cool to see set of Dungeon-themed decos, dungeon currencies sounds good to be used to get them

    Reply to @Dino.3680

    • That's why I created (again) that topic :P just decided to go more complex this time ^^
    • Permission rework suggestions are wrote on Trello boards (links in first post)
    • I included idea for guild missions but didn't specifed anything much (yet, - todo stuff)
    • Well, 'fix' for repeatability of Guild Halls would be more different Guild Halls available, I guess? :D
