  1. So I'd like to bump this because it seems rather than addressing the matter, ArenaNet secretly hot-fixed the PVP workaround so it no longer works. (After I spent 10 provisioner tokens on a longbow for my Guardian, yay.) This appears to be something about the Bloodbound weapons themselves, as normal weapons still work through the PVP Lobby workaround.

The act itself is ridiculous, considering it's taking away something that players enjoyed. If it had been this way from the start of SotO that is one thing, but letting us enjoy it and then taking it away? Why? That's what I want to know. Why? And why was the change not communicated to us at all?

I found a QOL (quality of life improvement) that goes with the the PvP lobby work around.

Once you decide on what weapon combination you want to stick with for a character: Get the Bloodbound weapon version of it.

That way you won't need to constantly visit the PvP lobby, every time you want/need to upgrade that weapon. Since the Bloodbound weapons grow with the character :classic_wink:

Obviously its a QOL improvement as well for any new character, since the Bloodbound weapons, are 'account' bound, not 'soul' bound to a specific character.

Awesome tip ,thank you! I am hoping Anet fixes this bug regardless, but a good workaround for now.

Skipped my fracs tonight like "I will never

just like a [fast] guy needs to grind

So I vaulted through the Reach's streets
right for the sound of crumbling and tears, YEEEEEEEAH!
Slid by some canes bearing no fear
and some charrming gal slashed me a /cheer!

She landed lithe upon a 'flake
    goaded me over, grinned
"Gods ain't gon' catch ya, mate"

"Hah; ain't gon' fall," I told her
    dodge-lept past her worn platform
and as her paws lost balance
    the games were truly on!

    Winds howled
    JUMP YOUR ROLLS UP HIGH
    WATCH SKRITTS' SNOWBALLS DEMONSTRATE
    ANet Hitbox causing /map flame
    CAUSING /MAP FLAME!

THEY CAN'T KEEP UP, LET 'EM CRY

  4. I actually don't think the spawns of the mobs or distribution is the issue in most cases. I've found GW2 fairly to very reasonable on it. FF14 was -terrible- for that. Not just placement, but how every mob was hostile. Why are these doe deers attacking me, a loud warrior/whatever, they'd take off at the sight of me.

Anet does this well, with their mixture, again in most cases. I actually think it should also be zone specific. Someone mentioned Orr early on, Orr -should- be a hellscape of undead. Because it is, and the mobs should reflect that. Likewise, a map like Gendarran could do with less random spiders and wargs hanging out in open fields which doesn't seem to vibe with how spiders or wargs/wolves tend to operate, which is sticking to brush/caves/etc.

Changing tents are already in the game and diving goggles already work only in a set range, within specific zones. So it doesn't seem to be a huge task to have what I'm talking about in order to fulfill the "accurate/rational [swimsuits] to the function of anyone who wants to go underwater, sail" request that was mentioned on the previous page/s.

Again, it's just going to be an outfit, if it's an idea at all. The obsession with changing tents just to exert some sort of control over others continues to be odd.

At the end of the day, any opposition to swimsuit outfits tends to just be a matter of 'I don't want anyone to have this'. If it was just a personal taste, the obvious answer is to not support said outfit with gemstore funds. Easy. The idea of wanting to limit people, or just keep them from having it at all, goes beyond that in to 'No fun for people' territory, and it's weird.

Edit: As has been said multiple times, swimsuit 'resources' are already implemented. As are numerous civilian/soldier outfits that we don't have for <insert a reason that actually isn't that valid aside from weird veneration for Anet's decisions despite the fact they're people. Great people, mind you, but people who can make errors.>

Reasons have already been stated on the previous 27 pages. And what do you mean "reasons beyond..."? It clearly doesn't matter how many reasons there will be given when you will keep repeating "what's the reason beyond a/b/c" anyways.

Having them just be an outfit, which is the actual 'normal/rational' solution, is more practical, and actually equates to revenue for Anet through the Gemstore. Unless you want people to spend gems on something you have to find a 'tent' for. Jadebots are already expensive and barely seen, sell that as an outfit to me, really.

At which point am I not geniune?

And speaking of 2-3 people, that's exactly how many of them keep bumping this thread up, with OP literally having more than 2/3rd of his total post count here 🤦‍♂️

    Her*.

Also... Yes? It's my thread. I'm gonna post in it a lot.

Anyway, there very much is a ton of desire out there to see swimsuits implemented! Skiffs and fishing already have our characters interacting more with the water.

  8. You can go to battle in a wedding gown, a chef's outfit, a weird set of fairy clothing, -in- your underwear if you're doing pvp. But woah, swimsuits, in battle? That's the kicker?

Also it's not a 'I think it looks weird'. It looks weird. If you're down to start a tighty-whitey trend at the beach in your local area? You do it, valid, but, until then.

Do you no understand what "they come in different styles" means or did you just decided to skip that part intentionally? Yes that "kind of looks like underwear" can and is also one of the swimwear types whether you like it or not. 🤷‍♂️

😐You're messing with me. You have to be. Not 'looks like underwear'. It is underwear. What is this argument.

Only if you don't understand swimsuits have different styles, which apparently you don't by excluding "this one you dislike".

This one I don't like? Do you- Do you mean underwear? To the beach? You're right, I don't like wearing underwear to the beach. For multiple reasons. It's weird, you look weird, it's uncomfortable, etc.

If it was already in the game, you wouldn't be complaining about it not being in the game.

I'm going to assume you're being genuine here. The issue is that NPCs can wear them, but PCs can't. When using a changing booth, for example, your character is forced in to their underwear. If you've never been to a beach before, I can tell you swimsuits and underwear are not interchangeable.

Also I just realized 'They have other things to sell' - What business works like that?

'Should we increase sales through more products?'
    'No'
    ???

Literal complaint from some people now suddenly wanting to run in panties into battle 🙃

Yet to see a convincing argument for, mind you.

Want to run around Labirynth Cliffs in matching clothes? Use changing tents, which are there for a reason.

Want to jump into water in matching outfit? Use diving goggles and they do that for you in a context appropriate situation.

Want to run around in panties pretending "it addresses style deficiencies"🤦‍♂️? Consider drinking some water if you're that thirsty.

Revenue. That's just one, but probably one of the most important.

    That was easy.

  13. This thread goes to odd places. The simple fact, again, is just wanting swimsuits. Would I settle for dye-able underwear? Yes. Should we have to? No. Though I do find Anet's current trends interesting. When did a liberal company get so conservative in their styling. 👀

Yet to see a convincing argument against, mind you.

"They don't have time." Wrong, they do. Check the gemstore.
"Mah immersion" Magical girl outfits, next
"think of the children" weird American puritanism go away.

  14. Elven Ears. Pointy Elf Ears. Trying to shore up support for the awful Rings of Power Bezos series? You know what, doesn't even matter. If you like the pointed ears, more power to you. Because that's the whole point of this thread, power to those really seeking something.

However. I never ever want to see, or hear; 'Anet should spend their time on something more important than swimsuits'. Or any variation, because clearly, they have plenty of time. The amount of time and energy is not the issue, clearly.

  15. Every year it's insulting to see npcs wearing swimsuits that the player can't touch. That goes for every civilian style clothing option though. I don't get Anet's thinking.

As always, they want/need to focus on more important things is disproved by taking one good look at the Gemstore. They clearly have the time.

From the new Summer Roadmap blog post:

    What do you think, @Altonese.6542?

Depends if they'd like to mend some bridges and make money or not. Finally putting out swimsuits on the gem store is basically the equivalent of deciding whether or not to accept your paycheque, or whether to open your christmas present or just to leave it in the corner forever.

I'd say it's a little bit of both. On the mini map it looks kinda blurry and unfinished. Above the NPC's head it looks too big and doesn't fit the art style of the other icons (like golem banker for example).

Also I don't quite understand why they chose to go for another helmet symbol which makes it difficult to distinguish from the armorsmith. Instead of opting for the more obvious choice of a shield (defense... shield... you get it), maybe an unbroken version of what we had before?

Thats all they really had to do, just red shield.

  18. The absolute funniest/soulcrushing part; fine we can pick up the banners again. You don't even let us have our old abilities back? The charge/inspire/swing with the banner?

THAT was too much for Warriors?? We don't even get to epicly plant them anymore, just, drop.
