    Thrown elixirs are projectiles. Meaning if theres reflect, projectile destruction or it lands on a player with block/aegis/invulnerability up it won't do anything. It is something id like anet to fix but I dont think they will.

  2. Nothing wrong with BB, their guilds play too early to play in NA (NA prime is like 3 hours after they end) thus they're spanish and too late in EU to face anything much.

    BB gets 2 map queues typically (1 guilds + 1 pug) but typically at least 1 out of the 2 opposing servers has a group to defend against them, sometimes both.

    You can't beat their PPT during night but this is only because they have this 1 dude (the diamond ex-Gcef guy) leading every night until around 4 AM GMT. Any server with chill nightcrew commander that joins teamspeak for a few years would end up having decent night coverage. If you want to counter him, you just need to get a commander that tags up exactly around the time he tags off and reset the things because bb has max 2 players after he logs out. Its just most servers dont have any coverage for several hours in the morning.

    He has the same problems during nighttime if he loses fights, I have seen servers match BB night coverage (I was a nightcrew commander for a few years also) and he ends up with like 10 players backcapping and defending T3 towers with acs. Even his group consists of fairweather players that only play when facerolling/outnumbering.

    I dont know what server you're from but only servers that are fully dead (less than 15 players) every night are something like SFR, RS and Vabbi, every other server should be able to appreciate the farm BB provides every night.

    You can complain about every server: Piken is full of casuals, Deso havent had any super strong groups for a month, Vabbi is full of tryhard bandvagoners, SFR has been terrible past few years, FSP plays only when winning etc etc.

  3. Eh condi scourge gets pretty well shut down by virtues firebrand + rev + holo or shoutbreaker party now meaning scourges cant really run full trailblazer anymore against competent enemies. Also you cant really stack scourges anymore because enemy having a few competent boonshare chronos means them pulling 4-5 scourges every 25 seconds to a bomb due to lack of stab and AoE stunbreaks. Anet did really well buffing the other specs (engi, war, rev) to shut condi meta down and nerfing scourge at the same patches.

    Its still pretty annoying for ranged though because as caster it kind of counters staff eles and revenants due to their lack of cleanse, guess casters just need a melee party and people need to ball up a bit more (and stop playing selfish specs).

Well PvE firebrand uses scepter but the actual dps rotation includes starting on axe, dropping symbol, swapping to scepter, using your symbol+both torch 4s and then enter f1 tome while during scepter and then when tome end, you drop 2 symbol, use Renewed focus, f1 again, drop scepter symbol and then swap to axe and autoattack on axe etc. And swap back to scepter when your f1 tome is ready again. Basically it doesnt include scepter autoattacks.

    In WvW, you dont use scepter autoattacks either because they get reflected (theyre good against siege tho, epic) and you have tomes and other skills like triple mantra to spam.

    The main reason to run scepter is because The symbol is on 6 second cooldown and it only takes 1/4 seconds to cast. It hits twice as many times as other symbols meaning double the f1 procs, even triple (5 symbol, 8 fists) against enemies with big hitbox The autoattack just shouldn't be used that much. But yeah, its pretty much only long range weapon there is for firebrand meaning you just have to be brave and go melee. Stack some protection with f3 tome and go there and punch that enemy in the face with the help of your heal mantra aegis.

    This is how I do high level fractals with firebrand and basically everytime I am scepter autoattacking I just see my dps go down and I am like duh, I shouldnt do this. And no, it doesnt require you to have boonshare chrono or dudu to sustain you. Just today I did 3 dailies 96,98,99 within 25 minutes with 2 necros, warrior and renegade (random pugging, not premade) smashing the enemy in the face by prestacking protection and using other cool firebrand mechanics.

    Also if its group of enemies, you just get your f1 tome refreshed everytime you kill something so ezpz life.

    Gotta love a class that can actually go full dps and stand melee range

  5. Its basically a melee DPS class with some utility. Obviously Ele as ranged is more preferred.

    There exactly isnt lot of weapon choices either .... Lot of the kits are so undertuned for the elite specs.

    Its fun for solo easy content but when you wanna solo harder content, you rather take something that can deal damage while tanking like guardian, rev or warrior, Or run away and deal bunch of damage from far away.

    and youre kitten right bg will complain. why? because they have every right to. everything ever that happened in wvw is always somehow bg's fault. wanna hear a secret? bg isnt as stacked as you think it is.

    Check the graph in the FAQ thread. Anet stated that BG is the one with most population even with being closed for so long. Having 10-20% more playhours is no joke because it makes current linking system hard to balance. Knowing when youre losing for 2 years because enemy has more coverage is different than losing when you know you had the same amount of population at start of 8 week period.

    Also lets say BG was losing a matchup on tuesday. Wouldnt there be thousands bg players to logging in to PPT, theyre just playing PvE/PvP majority of time because "oh bg will win anyways", so theres lot of hidden population there that just isn't active because there isn't competition. I have been on Rank 1 server on multiple times, and it happens from a lot of players...

    EU also definitely needs the change. The germans need to be cut a server and spread to other German servers. Permanent bandvagoning is rampant atm so majority of servers that put priority on quality or fights are dodging doing well at t2 or t1 matchups. And as we know, its the same on NA.

    Is it healthy that the strong servers and veteran players/commanders are not aiming to win with vast majority of other playerbase being also interested in going higher tiers because the amount of people who would transfer to your server refusing to join teamspeak/discord or fight losing fights?

    Going to T1 really has no meaning in EU because 2 out of 3 servers typically in t2 don't even want to go T1, so 1 server is given a freeride on higher tiers, which also leads to lot of players being incapable of playing as much they want because that would obviously lead to higher score. Its the same on NA.

    The fact that you can reset your server every 8 weeks leaving all these casual bandvagoner stranded WHILE being able to aim to win is a godsend to servers that will after be able to play as much as they want and aim for higher score without expecting massive wave of casual pugs transferring from other servers.

    Yes, I know lot of these BG players are being unreasonable because they're afraid of losing afterwards or being left out of the alliance they would want to be in. Which is natural. So yes, its natural for them to complain.

    The members need to mark one of their current guilds as WvW guild every 2 months to get counted towards alliance slot for that particular matching. Members that dont mark the guild as the one they chose to go with to a new world, dont count.

  9. You can get ascended trinkets by doing reward tracks/guild missions in WvW. Weapons shouldnt be a problem because theyre relatively cheap to craft and you will most likely get a box of armor+wep while you get the trinkets. Full armor will take a while but is doable. Only chest and leg armor give ton of stats by upgrading tho.

    The tracks areBloodstone fen reward trackEmber Bay Reward Tracketc. Use guild wars wiki to find themIt takes like 24 hours or 32 hours of WvW time (less with guild booster) to get one of them. Accessories are like 12 guild commendations so you can get like 1 per week if you join a WvW guild.just unlock the tracks in pve in like 30 min and then enjoy your WvW time.

    I can see advantages to this approach, admittedly... but only and exclusively for WvW, which is not even the main focus of the game as far as I can tell. Before anything like this is implemented, you had better heavily consider the impact it will have on the (majority of the) player community that doesn't WvW. This is a death knell to RP, in a game which already makes RP difficult.

    PvE servers are megaservers now and will stay as such. Only lions arch and meta events have enough instances to split the RP server players apart. This will have almost 0 impact to PvE.

    For WvW, it is more like it will help you RP players to make an alliance together and get to same server for free. You just need to set your rp guild to WvW guild and you will get transferred to same server. Then you can invite random RPers you meet from other servers/alliances in PvE/WvW and they get transfer with your guild for free every 8 weeks..

    Dont forget you have at least 3 months, most likely half a year, before this thing will come live so you just need to make some kind of RP community guild and invite every RPer in it with no rules... Just in case..

    Considering there is 15 main servers on EU and 12 on NA, the lowest number servers below top 15 are obviously very reliant on link servers.Top ones most likely include Blackgate [NA], Baruch Bay [sP], Desolation [EU], Jade Quarry [NA], Kodash [DE], Riverside [DE], Far shiverpeaks [EU] and Piken Square [EU]considering they are servers that have been unlinked/full in the past few linkings in about that order. Might be some other NA servers, I am not that aware of the state there.

  12. Regarding EU (showing my support for the change, not a question for anet)

    Boys, I am sorry but EU is experiencing same problems as NA. Of course its not as terrible as Stackgate but the bandvagoning is real on EU ALSO.We have been trying to create friendly "willing to join ts and play decent class when necessary" communities on several places like Piken, Blacktide, Desolation, Vabbi, FSP etc.. But people/commanders just transfer to these servers to get carried in fights and don't contribute meaning we have to leave eventually because there is no fights left to be had and people don't join voice comms anymore.

    Currently it is just a cycle of when you go in t1-t2 with high kdr, lot of bad commanders/players transfer PERMANENTLY to your server. Now it will reset every 8 weeks, meaning we have more control over who comes with our alliance and can prevent it growing to too stacked unless they're willing to pay thousand+ gems every 2 months.

    Now what you will get:

    • Keep your server vocal+scout community by making an alliance
    • More control over who comes and goes from your "server"
    • Balanced servers, No more 80 man riverside morningtrain without them hurting their other timezones.
    • More fighting communities and regular commanders. Lot of commanders quit leading/transfer because someone else transfers to their server just to take their timezones fights.
    • More guilds. PvE guilds can mark as WvW guilds and try WvWing, not all of them will stick but at least you will have more open/closed vocal groups.
    • Chance to derp every 8 weeks with your guild/friends. Wanna go french for free? Do it. Wanna go NA? Do it. Wanna go to a random server for fun?
    • Less stagnancy. Servers wont die from inactivity and people can't complain about other servers having too many players compared to theirs anymore.
    • Possibility for anet to remove extra tiers when WvW becomes inactive and add more during summers when people are active, etc.

    Yes sure you might lose chance of meeting your server friend that hasn't logged in last 6 months. But I feel like he isn't exactly contributing member in past 6 months.

    Just organise it, its not that hard. You dont need to go with 500 people that you dont know if you're not part of any actual community. Make one with your friends. Add a few fun groups. 10-20 people should be enough to keep you entertained for 2 months.

    If you're solo player and introvert, well, you can do your roaming and following commanders stuff with random alliance too...

    Overall this will be positive change for most, only ones that will suffer are the ones that are incapable of organising things like setting discord server for their alliance and inviting their friends with them.

    People qqing about maxing their guilds/having to join a guild:

    • Guilds are pretty cool, barely any guilds have any rules now. You can just gather 20 roamers and never talk to each other (actually lot of talk in guilds go through whispers).
    • Merging guilds is a possibility while staying in old one. You just get invited to one as extra member and you mute the chat in chat or something. If you have 5 terrible small guilds with no space still, well just leave one. Emotional attachment to ingame random 5th most important guild for you shouldn't really hurt that much. Even if it is fully upgraded, you can just join another guild for transfer while your reliable friend takes care of your ex guild and then promotes you to leader again. (Its hard to believe you would be leader in 5 guilds that are fully upgraded with no reliable friends/officers)

    Overall alliances seem pretty okay. Little worried about what kind of security is there against the alliance leader doing something like setting it as "spanish eu server" 30 min before it gets locked and joins another alliance.

    Anyways, new communities are cool and forcing people to form guilds might actually provide the change we need.

  14. Well, its true that WvW doesnt give much gold but who logs in to farm silverwastes anyways. All world bosses are boring, high level fractals are easy and only challenging PvE content in this game are raids that is like 3 hours(?) for full clear in a week, and even that gets repetitive after 1st time.

    If they'd base the rewards on how challenging gamemode is, WvW would be terrible. Everyone farming gold there, PvDing towers, PvE guilds getting farmed by each other for gold. Ok, so would this be fun? Truth is, no. WvW is fun because lack of rewards, first of all people need to be mature enough to not play THE GAME just for gold to enter, secondly you will get full legendary armor eventually from doing WvW.

    What else do you need? Legendary weapons? Tbf, ascended drop rate from WvW is enough to supply for 80% of the asc weps necessary and you really dont want other than celestial staff with energy + concec sigil on staff for guardian etc, which makes the stat swapping relatively useless unless you wanna swap sigils everytime. lets see Bifrost, swappable stats with awful skin, 3000 gold, thats worth 60 ascended staffs, hmmmm.... Ok, think I made my point clear pointing out that bifrost is just expensive gemstore skin.

    If you want enough gold to have LOTS of extra, do that 3 hour PvE raid clear every week, or fractal dailies everyday for 30 min. Simple enough,

  15. Well, I feel like at least on EU, the linkings could be done better.

    • Each international server can provide decent fights except RoF.
    • Theres too many German servers that dont have links, leading into german servers dying because full and stale. Shown by 5 german servers being bottom 6 next week.

    Theres good sides to linkings too tho:

    • Every 2 months t1 changes and you can beat server you never beat before.
    • Plebs get considerably better if theyre linked to t1-t2 server, if they were stuck at t5, they would stay bad.

    I have nothing against current linking system as it keeps WvW alive, merging servers could be next stage soon though. Maybe changing it into 4 tiers instead of 5, would be interesting solution so that RoF and Germans get some love too.
