  1. I'd prefer to be able to hide or cycle through them. The mini collector achievements are the ones sitting at the top for me and right now I have no desire to complete them, I'd much rather see the other achievements that are almost done. That or maybe code it by zone where it shows achievements that are almost done in that zone. Might encourage people to revisit old zones as it'd be easier to see what was almost done and kinda goad them into completing it.

  2. I've submitted a ticket and the post seems to be gone but the post violated a lot of the forum rules so that mileage may vary. I did 'report a player'; 'my problem isn't listed here'.Under subject you can put 'violating forum coc' or something similar.Description of issue this is the format I used:Post in question: of course a link to the post itselfViolates: list what it violatesReason this is being submitted as a ticket:THE REPORT FEATURE IS BROKEN.

For reporting the player, simply list the forum name next to the post. I included a screenshot as well to show that the part where the post went off kilter.

I'd only go this route if the post goes way beyond what would be acceptable on the forums which is probably the only reason I submitted a ticket in the first place. So I'd use this as a last resort if @ ing a mod/dev to the post in question isn't working.

And not really get the result you are looking for. Reason is kinda sound however forum mods exist. The mods here will simply look at this and go 'this goes in the bug forum' and move it there or just delete it since there's already a post in the bug forum about this subject.

Higher visibility would be better accomplished by simply posting on the post that already exists in the bug forums. Honestly the more additions to that single post would have better effect than posting on other forums as they can have all the info in one place with what is going on than everything scattered willy nilly.

And trust me they do read the bug forums. My post on the bug forums only got 2 responses and it was fixed next update.

I appreciate what you are saying but there is a difference between a “bug report” and a “complaint.” Bug reports should go in the bug forum.

This is a complaint. This has been going on a month or so, recent threads to the contrary, with no statement or apparent attempt to address it. The problem has gotten worse as well, not better.

Visibility is helpful at some level.

Only if the visibility goes to the right people. Posting in the original thread for the lag shows an ongoing problem for Anet and would keep it on the front page as a 'hey this is still happening'. As someone who did bug hunting as a side thing for a small indie game. It was so much easier to just go to the dev and say 'here's where the complaint/bug originally was reported, here it is still being reported a month in, and these are the different maps/events of when they noticed the lag (high time, low time, popular event, etc.) and here is the link to the thread cataloging all this and responses for your review. Something is borked and needs fixing. Having to search through posts spread about a website to find what people are saying is counter intuitive.

Honestly, just adding a quip at the end of your post: "Posting here to see if people are having the same problem, if so, post what you experienced with the lag on this thread: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/108240/pof-lws4-maps-are-still-lagging-during-meta-events#latest. That way the bug team has more information on what's going on."

And to anyone that is experiencing the lag, please do this. Go to that link and tell them I was playing at so and so time on so and so map, doing this event/etc and I'm on a US/UE server. It does help the bug team that monitor that forum to be able to tap a dev on the shoulder and go 'heeyyyy just so you know....'

Also to those that play Pvp/WvW as well, go on that thread and report your lag as well. It could be a server being naughty for all we know or a string of code spilling it's coffee on the keyboard when the right random parameters are met.

  5. Honestly, that was one reason why I liked Shamans in WoW was because of the race differences between the totems. I'd actually enjoy having that reflected in engineers for this game. Though I think maybe instead of a change by race, maybe have it be something cosmetic like the gathering supplies. That way people can choose what they want.

And then that brings an interesting prospect, since most would gnash their teeth at more cash shop items, that the best way to implement would be some type of class quests no? I mean Eclipse, Favor of the Colossus and Scion's Claw were fan skins added into the game. It'd be interesting if they added another design contest for turrets/gyros, along with contests for other professions to add cosmetic changes to your toon in this way. Only have the NPC offer the achievement for it if they are that profession, have it be something not as long as doing a legendary but has them traveling around (sort of like the way the skyscale collection was done) as to at least make it something not a hop, skip and a jump done.

The coding and implementing it in game side of it would of course take the longest part but interspersing it with the design contests would probably help move things along in terms of designing and seeing what people actually want. IDK, I for one really want more choices (STOP WITH THE BUTT CAPES) but also know that time and cost wise, it might not be feasible in a 'corporate' setting.

  6. The only way heroes would probably work in GW2 if they took a page from WoW's garrisons from Warlords and incorporated them as followers.

    • It would add a reason for having Eye of the North as a hud that would be revisitable.
    • It would give people something that could gather resources depending on the 'heroes' levels.
    • It could make choices in game actually matter. Priory, Whispers, Vigil would all have their unique followers and missions. Choosing Joko, Sunspear or Amnoon would matter, as again, they'd have unique followers and missions. Over all it could easily add a subset of new content and possibilities where instead of fighting the RNG to get Rhendak's Signet for the achievement, it could pop up on the mission board etc with a possibility of the drop as well.

It would also be a huge resource and development bundle for Anet itself which is probably why the hero system wasn't set up in the first place. The cons on getting the system to work prolly outweighed the pros.

Still, if I was given the choice between garrison followers from WoW or the Hero system from Nightfall....the garrison followers would win hands down. It is an easier system to navigate if new, added more depth into the world (at least for me) and gave me a chance to sort of strategize since some followers had better synergy with certain missions than others (like say you had a stealth mission, it'd be better to send Agent Kito than Braham, where if you had a mission to blow something up, it'd be better to send Canach than Lord Faren).

  7. The model they have now seems to be working and shouldn't be screwed up with with some ESO garbage. Optional sub that isn't really optional, DLC that's just a dungeon and that's it for $20 unless you do that 'optional' sub but hey if you cancel that sub you lose access to all that stuff. The business model of ESO is basically what drove me away from the game and I sure as kitten don't want to see that model in GW2. Also, an optional sub didn't help Wildstar, why do you think it'd help here?

  8. Advocate dungeons? Once you unlock the collection of the weapons/armor, there's not really a point to go in there anymore so maybe add on buying mystic clovers or whatever else you are lacking with those currencies? It would be something uniquely pve but not really infringe on the WvW crowd.

  9. Sooooo your whole thing has already been implemented in another game. Elder Scrolls Online. Your whole model is basically their ESO+ system. The system that ultimately made players like me leave the game because it basically ended up being that anything that was a QoL improvement became locked behind that 'optional subscription'.

Locking material storage behind it, would kill a lot of the playerbase super fast since that was something that was free to have in the beginning and would be seen as a loose P2W cash grab.Locking templates behind it when you already have to pay for more templates would be ripped apart by the PvP/WvW crowd as forcing their hand into having a sub to be able to play their favorite game mode.We already get living world for free for the months, MONTHS, that they are available as current content and you don't even need to play through the story. Just log in, log out. And seeing as they are offering the icebrood saga for free yet again albeit on a shorter time frame shows that Anet is quite happy with the model of if you didn't get it when it was current, please pay for it. And again, this was something that has been around for a while. Suddenly having that pulled away would also drastically knock out the player base if they found out they now needed a sub to get it.

If it isn't broken, DON'T FIX IT. It's pretty clear their current model is working fine if they are able to announce that there will be a third expansion. My only gripe is that there should be mount skins in game to be able to collect. Honestly would have preferred mount skins to emotes I'll never use. That'd entice new players to want to keep up with the story along with buying the PoF/HoT expansions (also seeing that buying PoF gets you HoT for free).

Overall, the ESO system you described is more detrimental to new players than what GW2 is and well, if you read articles, the lack of a subscription, optional or not, is what makes GW2 appealing for people to try. I mean, I have friends that play WoW and do not enjoy the game at all anymore however they still play because of the money they sunk into the game. Same thing with the friends who play ESO. They don't really enjoy playing anymore but because they need ESO+ to have access to QoL things that should have been in game in the first place, they feel obligated to continue playing. I like that I can play and then ignore the game for a few days/weeks/months. I like that if I get a messed up schedule where I can't sit and play, I can log on and then log off and know I can access that story at a later date and time when I'm not a headless chicken. I do not want to go back to my WoW days of logging on after work and playing for 4+ hours because I'm spending $15 a month on the game. I do not want to go back to my ESO days of spending $15 a month on having storage so I wouldn't get kicked from dungeons for having full bags. Or the frustration of knowing the sub was ending and having to pick and choose what materials I should store in my bank and remember just how unfriendly the game is to having alts.

  10. I can redo hero points that have you fight something for a reward, one reason why I usually join HP runs even though I already have everything unlocked on my ranger and a few others. Having to redo those tasks to unlock the vendor, to be able to buy something I forgot for a collection and my only reward being unlocking the vendor over and over again, is a poor design. If they want us repeating the same motions over and over again, they should just add a reputation system in ala WoW and have the items tiered. Honestly that was the only reason I prolly spent more time than I should have in Mists of Pandaria was building up the rep to get mounts and gear. It would also lean in better for having mount skins being available in game if they did a tiered system like that so that you had to work on getting the item you wanted and once hitting max tier, have that work get translated into something like a hero box daily or the like to continue participating. That would motivate me helluva lot more to actually completing the hearts instead of doing what I do now. Which is nothing because I already got what I needed from the heart vendors in Crystal Desert for my main and alts so they sit stagnate as I farm HP points for their daily reward and then leave the maps for the other dailies.

  11. I'm surprised they didn't update the Hall of Monuments Portal Stone.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments_Portal_Stone

It would have been a nice solution. They could make it like the Spearmarshal's Plea where it could take you to Sun's Refuge (once you unlocked it) or the Griffon Sanctuary. The same thing could have been done with the Portal Stone. Present it to Aurene after completing the story missions to have her modify it or something.

I noticed it doesn't auto-kick you out of the tank when you are out of ammo and am wondering if maybe that's providing some frustration on everyone's part as well. I mean, that tank is an afker's dream if there isn't a safeguard in place. Get in, get escorted and protected throughout the whole mission, get loot at end. Has anyone noticed if it kicks you out after a certain amount of time? I honestly thought it'd kick me out after using all the ammo but it didn't.

No. Even if there was one for the tank, someone could just AFK at the start of the zone and take the WP once everyone else reached the boss.

Bummer, that's one big oversight then on the devs part then. I hope they can do something to fix this but probably be a low on the ladder.

  13. As someone who suffered through 40 man LFRs in WoW. About the only thing that would improve the strike mission to make some people stop griping is to tweak the lava guy fight. DO NOT NERF IT! I mean tweak as in, letting the group know you can enter the kitten tank. I didn't know you could until we hit that fight and someone said, 'All in tank to harpoon and keep pressing 3!' So a better prompt on that part or a line saying 'Recruits, get in the tank and fire those harpoons!' would be a QoL improvement.Other than that, I'd do strike missions over LFR anyday. Yeah sometimes it took forever to take down the lava guy, but better than repeatedly wiping on a boss because a hunter had path of daze on to troll.

This just leads to homogenization of classes, and you just have to look at WoW to see why you wouldn’t want that. Pretty much everyone will be able to do everything, and that kills class identity. Oh, but you want “just one more”? Sure, I believe you.

So shamans in WoW can wield swords now? The problem with WoW was pure and utter ability bloat and no separation of that. When you have to have four 10 key ability bars on your ui to be able to actually utilize your class on top of, boss mods, gtfo, recount, healium or whatever was the preferred healing addon at the time, and still be expected to be able to play with half of your screen being taken over. No the bloat was atrocious. Here, you have a lot of skills yes, but you cannot use them all. You are forced to select which skills will work and cannot switch them while in combat. My engineer cannot use the flamethrower if she has her grenades selected, etc.

Then you have ESO. You can wield anything and wear anything regardless of class. Sorc tanks were big when I started playing. Yet they don't have a problem with homogenization that WoW does, each class has it's strengths and weaknesses. Why? My explanation is simply they don't have people playing every class on team. There was a reason it was called World of Roguecraft or World of Magecraft. There is a reason they still don't have vaild aggro dump on shamans after 15+ YEARS. They simply don't know what they want to do nor how to balance anything anymore. Part of it is also there is no separation between pve/pvp so they sit there trying to balance skills around both forms of play which gets tedious, which means that they'd rather have each class be closer to the same for their sanity then trying to do two separate skill sets where tanks can still tank in pve but be able to be taken down in pvp. I remember a long stint of only being able to tank for family/friends because they nerfed guardian druids to the point pugs would not take them because they were 'too squishy'. And it was all because they were unstoppable in pvp. GW2 recognized this and tweaked it that some skills/traits will be different between the two game modes.

Overall, I think it's more that people want access to weapons than anything else. Rangers cannot access rifles nor pistols. Longbows are only accessible to 3, 3 professions. Guardian Dragonhunter, Warriors and Rangers. A guardian can wield a sword in their main hand but not their offhand. Some of it makes sense, some of it does not. Either way, the reason most ask for elite specs, at least why I ask, is because I'd love to be a mace wielding engineer and probably the only time I'll ever see it will be as an elite spec.

As for killing class identity.....no, it won't happen because engineers will still have their turrets, rangers will still have their pets, etc. Honestly the most homogenized thing, and most frustrating, is the STORY. Where is my warband? Why have me choose between them only for them to be completely ignored after level 30? Why have me choose between the Priory, Whispers and Vigil when they are ignored after Orr? Why did I not get unique dialogue from Almorra through her interactions when she knows my ranger? The things that set your character apart from others on what you did do not matter at all and it's maddening. Sylvari still don't know what's up with Malyck. If there is any homogenization going on in the game, it's us being the Commander, not the professions.

That is probably one of the worst examples to use for content requiring gear. It's a very easy fight unless you choose to throw away the very useful magical sword.

......You do realize there is an achievement on that fight that fails if you use the 'very useful magical sword' right? Depending on how you are geared and your profession, that achievement can easily be a pita to get.

  16. Utilize your dodge/endurance better. If you know you can't get out of that aoe ring off the bat, time it so that you dodge and it misses you. Don't dodge just to dodge.Actually read your skills and passives. Getting downed a lot because of poison/burning? Look at your skills/passives to mitigate it.Still being downed? Look at some builds from https://metabattle.com/wiki/Open_World/Soloing. They have builds for everything. I linked solo but there are fractal/pvp/wvw/raid builds as well. They go into detail about what you need and what you should focus on via rotation, food, glyphs/sigils, etc.Still being downed after all that? ASK. FOR. HELP. As someone who loves the kitten out of Engineer, there is quite a few things that can be not that friendly to the profession if you are still not geared (Oh god that last PoF fight). I asked in map chat. I've never had anyone be abrasive about it when asking for help. I know this is more PvE than PvP though. For PvP, look up some videos where people are doing WvW zergs online. Watch what's going on. Sometimes you can learn a trick or two about staying alive and others it may help you identify a movement faster for you to be a step ahead of it. Like how the elementalist moves and starts to float doing a channel skill, you get used to seeing how each class moves from watching the vids, you might have an easier time locking down who to attack or stun.
