  1. No premium versions (did that with a free to play game and it's been a year and a half and they STILL haven't added anything new for premium members but a ton of cash shop crap), no 'optional' subs that are basically a way to gut the main game to make it mandatory. No. Just no.

Want revenue? Give us a free housing instance and put custom furniture and kitten in the shop while allowing access to the rest via crafting the way ESO is set up. (Get the Balthazar furniture set for 1200 gems, includes a statue of Balthy, forged furniture and his dogs to place where you see fit.) Hell, just copy ESO's whole model (I've stated before the Earthtear Cavern carries a $100 price tag) and improve on it cause I know ArenaNet can rock that out so much better than Zeni has. Not only would that give crafting a nice boost with new items to make, it'd give a new way to make gold in game and we can see how creative everyone is with random objects (I still have screenshots of the Futurama plot I found in Wildstar that had Bender fighting the stabby robot!).

  2. Trying to climb the clock tower this year on my new comp instead of my old potato. Also actually seeing textures, details, etc instead of viewing everything with N64 graphics.Actually attempting the dungeon(?) this year.Getting one of the kitties for my home instance.Maybe actually figuring out the race this go around (will prolly use the jackal because I still hate trying to drift on the beetle).Hoarding candy corn so I can hopefully update to the King-Sized Candy Corn node this year.

  3. I wonder if this is a soft release and that more templates will be released for free later on after they make sure this whole thing doesn't break coding in that that someone imputing a build and doing something like consuming a primer before switching to it breaks it in a way that boons never disappear, remaining fully stacked and people exploit the piss out of it or it breaks something else like it won't let you do elite builds. I mean, they put in the casino token consume all and had to hot fix it so it would consume all the tokens and not just one. Just cause coding plays nice on the test side doesn't mean it'll behave when it's live. I remember when the first MMO I played had a simple translation error occur in the coding and suddenly everyone had access to GM commands and were banning people, awarding themselves rare items, etc. So even if it's the same engine as GW1, I can still see being tentative about adding too much pepper to the pot.

Though I'm someone who won't be using it except for maybe having a fractal build and that'd be it as I mostly just main one toon and the rest are storage/prof achievement slaves.

  4. I always thought the prices were par the course and pretty even with other MMOs (WoW $25 mounts, etc) though you are talking to someone who saw Earthtear Cavern in ESO went OMG yes I love it and then saw the $100 price tag attached to it and noped out of that faster than a person shopping for a birthday card and saw the price on the back of the card. So comparing that cash shop to GW2, I can definitely say things feel cheaper on GW2's side of things or at least more in tune with what you get for the price. Add on that you can convert gold to gems, it seems like a better system to encourage both paying with RL money or converting instead of a more one sided just pay with RL money because you'll never get enough gold to gems to get the item.

  5. The Consume All button only counts one token towards XP and then consumes the whole stack, it does not give XP for the whole stack. So consuming all on a 250 stack of tokens only nets you the XP of one token. I used it twice while doing the event and thought that XP was just nerfed until I resorted back to individual clicking to find to that this was bugged. Unsure if this affects the Mastery XP as well (used it on a level 38 trying to level it up) as regular XP.Spread the word, do not use consume all on the casino tokens until it is fixed.

  6. A sub like that is what drove me away from ESO in the first place. The craft bag, which is free to us btw, was the turning point. I started getting kicked, yes KICKED, from dungeons because I didn't have ESO+. I was kicked from the merchant guild I had been in for two years because I didn't have ESO+. For an 'optional' sub they made it damn apparent that they would cripple the base game just enough with an onslaught of new mats every time you turned around to make the craft bag more 'convenient' of a purchase. So I did the math. ESO I paid $15 a month for DLC that was usually just a dungeon or two. GW2 gives that to me for free just logging in and playing. ESO made it a point that if I wanted to make things, I'd need the craft bag to store all the mats. GW2 gives that to me for free as material storage. Expansion of it is a one time purchase. ESO limits you on your home instance of what I can put in it unless I pay the sub. GW2 HAS NO LIMIT. Imagine having to choose only 5 nodes for your home instance but hey if you subbed, you'd get a choice of 10!Now to the fun part. Do you know why they did an optional sub in the first place? Because Xbox and Playstation already had subs to even be online. ESO was supposed to be like WoW and be sub based. They couldn't be that way if they wanted a larger crowd with the console players. So they tailored their 'optional' sub to be something that solely became mandatory. Now the super fun part, do you want to know what it did to the player base? OH boy. It flat put a divide in the community that it became a clear sub vs btp. And the subbers became just like the WoW people. Demanding everything under the sun and oh god if they released something to the base game for free? How dare they, we pay a sub what do WE GET.

Yes, I do dislike that they haven't really added any mount skins or glider skins into the game itself and they are cash shop. But they are cosmetic. It doesn't change the way I play the game. Most of the cosmetics are available to buy on the TP. So yeah, as someone who thought they'd have to be locked into a game that has you sub or is a true pay to Win game (not a waaaa the item I want is on the cash shop, a the best gear in the game is in the cash shop and I have no way to obtain it in game), I appreciate that GW2 does their model the way they do. Adding an optional sub now, would just piss a lot of people off. I'm at the max for material storage so does that mean I get 4k stored now? What about the person who never leveled it and has 250, imagine their frustration of subbing to get 500 only to find they still need to pay for the expansions? So no, please no. I don't want another game where it becomes that the optional sub isn't all that optional after all.

  7. I like the trait overhauls as well. There were some that confused me on their purpose or it was like what should I pick because they are running gs/longbow but I'd like to do axe/torch/longbow. So really enjoy that they are taking the time to refigure things instead of the BS of Warcraft that went scrap all that and completely made cookie cutter builds the only builds.

I also wonder how this will work out for some professions as there are some weapons I just stay away from (sword) so would be interesting to try a few different builds out. I also wonder how most of the revamps will work out as from my experience of playing a Shaman on WoW, something that was a nerf on paper that 'omg killed the spec' wound up being an absolute boon when paired with something unconventional in a build. I still remember and loved the crazy of warlocks tanking with the demonology revamp in MoP.And maybe the tune-ups will help me actually enjoy playing Revenant instead of hate playing it to get the shield and shortbow.

  8. I'm okay with the max price being 10k in the TP and will try in my best to explain why in the second paragraph. Honestly, I'd rather just see drop rates be increased or to have the items added onto their respective map vendors with a large amount purchase (Like the Chak Egg Sac be added to the Nuhoch Vendor and having it cost something like 5,000 ley line crystals, 10,000 unbound magic and 50g) to still make it a challenge to get so if someone wants to sell they can and make a decent profit but we are not solely relying on RNJesus to get it nor being tempt to do a RMT to get the item. In a way that would make the most sense to me to add it to the vendor as it would be a small way to be able to keep the map alive longer as we get further away down story lane.

If they raised the TP limit, the most natural thing that would happen would be everyone would pull all of their sells down and relist. Those that aren't quick enough to do such things will see their stuff get bought out by the richest players in game and relisted at a higher price. If you think that Chak Egg Sac was expensive now? Well just imagine it sitting yet again out of your reach at 20k. The whole pricing of everything would flux out of control for months and possibly years as we players try and decide what an item is worth again and items that were once relatively cheap at 30 copper could suddenly see themselves becoming 5 gold or more. A good example would be Grow Lamps. Not needed for much, sits at around 35g on the TP so reasonable in an area to obtain if going after the skyscale and not wanting to make your own. Now GW2BLTC tells me there's about 150 of the Grow Lamps on the TP right now. If I was a rich player and had the gold, I could reasonably buy out the entire stock of those and set the price to a price I want. Say 1k gold. With the way the system is set up, no one knows it's me, sellers aren't listed. So people won't see that it's me with the listings, just that the price is 1k. Of course I wouldn't put it all in one spot. 5 would be at 1k, a few higher than that, etc to entice people to go okay 1k isn't that bad since this other one is 1.5k.The people making the lamps will go to list them and naturally go, I can dig this and list. They won't do the buy order, why when they could sell it for 1k? And in that simple move, I not only screwed up the pricing of Grow Lamps that will take months to sort out, I would have also disrupted the price of the parts to make it as well because people would be buying up those mats to make more lamps to reap a profit. Thus we now have a market that is in shambles and will take a while to recover. With that 10k limit, it helps limit our crazy selves. It gives us an easier baseline to figure out what is a fair price. Remember the Superior Sigil of Nullification? Sat at around 2 silver for awhile till Sept 10, 2018 rolled up, said hi you're need for something and the price immediately jumped to 13g. Now it's down to around 1 gold because our knees stopped jerking. The same thing happened to cooking with it being updated to 500 and lord Jewelry making is gonna have the same response when it gets that 500 update.

So in essence, I'd rather advocate for a drop increase or my suggestion of adding items of rareness to the map vendors, than seeing another fiasco with WoW's auction house where something that was supposed to be somewhat obtainable suddenly isn't because we are crazy little creatures.

Edit: unbound magic, forgot volatile is POF not HOT

There's also the two musical instruments tied to legendaries (Minstrel and Verdarach) and you can buy the magnanimous bell as well.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wintersday_Red_Musical_Bell_CaseAccording to GW2BLTC, it's going for a few silver (like 15-16?) and it gives you the bell as well.

  10. This please! I've had a lot of newer players raiding my home instance lately and they didn't even know you could get cats for your instance. Some also didn't know that the race you chose to study moved in as well. One was wondering why there were frogs all over the place and not skritt. They thought everyone had skritt.

  11. Snow truffles have a node though.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Snow_Truffle_Harvesting_Node

    So do Ghost Peppers.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ghost_Pepper_Harvesting_Node

I have both in my home instance and would be a little miffed about the gold/money I spent on them was relinquished as moot if I could just plant seeds.

Instead of diminishing other nodes, how bout adding something to make the gem plots more unique? We can already get ingredients to make the primers. That was the whole reason I bought the plots anyway in case I decide to do raiding and is only doable with those plots. How about adding in something that we can make and sell on the TP? The self-style hair kit comes to mind since they no longer drop from the chests. Make a recipe for them so they are sell-able or something. Or another collection added in that once completed and have a 500 cook (something simple like go see Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs and he has you harvest for an item in different maps akin to the one achievement in Elon Riverlands for the Funerary armor), you have a rare chance of getting mystic clovers from the gem plots? Attach another collection for more seeds. Possibility of a bug/worm/butterfly miniature we can sell on the TP if we don't want it.

I don't know, I'm actually making an even profit with my plots though it might be because I didn't put all my ducks in one pile. I looked at what had rough gathering (didn't really have it's own gathering node, like black peppercorn) or was in a frustrating map(s) (cassava roots in HoT) and what I was low on myself in my mass hoarding of ingredients and went from there. So they definitely aren't a lot of 'common weeds' especially seeing that gem plots have a more extensive selection of seeds that the cook plot has.

  12. It will probably see a change eventually if there is call for it in terms of story, etc. WoW is actually a good example for once on this because it took them years to finally fix Stormwind after Deathwing sat/landed on it (Cata came out 2010, Stormwind rebuilt in 2016). So if anything, if they do a rebuild/clean up the tower on that map, I hope they do a 'fundraising' event type of thing instead of just magically change it. Mostly because that'd be a great way for them to kick off any human living story arc seeing all the crap that happened and wasn't really touched (White Mantle, gods abandoned, etc).

  13. I'm curious, is there a system in place that guarantees a drop eventually much like the Mistborn coffers? Like after a 1000 chests you got the gift automatically if it hadn't dropped already.Because this content is a week old, I'm more seeing people putting them up with prices like that on the TP for the impatient people that are more willing to foolishly part with gold instead of waiting it out and watching the price drop to something more reasonable. I mean I did the same thing with the Light of Deldrimor Plate. Said pfaw at the price and waited because I knew the price would crash. I can definitely see the price crashing on the helmet as some will unlock it for the wardrobe and then sell whatever ones they get next. So I'd just be patient and give it more time, hell you'll probably get the drop itself in the meantime instead of wasting gold buying the new shiny. It's not an infusion with a crappy drop rate.

  14. I'd say Taimi but I have a feel that is the reason Gorrik was introduced in the first place, Taimi is going to die soon (probably with expansion or something) and definitely feel like we are being set up for it with Marjory and Kas coming back and us dealing with Gorrik more than her (Skyscale collection, icebrood prologue as examples).

Canach being MIA kinda worries me but we know he's up to something.

So for someone to kill off....honestly Rox would be my choice. She just seems to be there as decoration or a Braham translator at most and while she showed promise, I tend to forget she was an original who fought Scarlet.

Though a solid death and would not care in the least would be Phlunt. You're a wasted baddy and god I hope we find out that you are secret Inquest or something so we can bash your face in.

    .

Yes, so it is as stated earlier: still the same actress, just with different intonation. Can't imagine why she was told to do it differently now - perhaps her performance was considered too sexy for a game like GW2?

Well, Balthazar almost killed her and then the whole shaken faith thing. I didn't get the feeling that it was a different VA, more that it was someone trying to be upbeat and supportive for their partner while also being a bit tight-lipped since a god tried to kill her, that god deals with flames and, oh joy the FLAME LEGION IS HERE. So I wonder if she was given the direction to sound like someone recovering from a trauma and not her voice was too 'sexy.'

  16. @"Ashantara.8731" said:I wonder, since I don't really play any other MMO: are there as many "World of Warcraft 2" and "ESO2" threads on the respective forums as there are GW3 threads on here? It's pretty annoying, I must say. It's like people are deliberately trying to hammer into other people's heads that this game had no future.

There is and not just for MMOs. The Overwatch forums were hideous with it too. Just as there are posts of 'OMG game killer for any new game that dares to exist in the genre. A lot of people can't seem to wrap their heads around the saying 'if it isn't broken, don't fix it.' Therefor that's why WoW has been around for 10+ years and GW2 is nearing that as well with this being year 7.

Frankly, most the time I see these posts, I think the person has a fad mentality unfortunately when it comes with games where they consider something that is 'old' not good unless it boasts WoW 'numbers' (which even then aren't what they used to be and are theorized to be around 5-6 million right now, though they stopped posting numbers back during Warlords where there was quite the exodus of players, myself included while GW2 has been theorized to be around 3 million right now and remaining steady) and not realize that basing things on player numbers is a skewed idea in determining if a game is dying or if the game is slated for a sequel.

There's also the fact that GW2 sort of breaks the mold that there isn't a real gear progression system. What you have is usable for most everything cept for maybe raids, and higher tier fractals and prolly some pvp modes (not too sure on the last as I don't pvp). There is no correspondent urge on getting better gear for the average player to do something as simple as a dungeon, fractal or world boss where as there is a gear check in WoW to be able to do heroic dungeons, etc (it's actually built into the lfd system itself, nothing like being 1 number off and having to hunt to get above the gear check to even queue) that a lot of people are used to. So in essence, people who are used to that look at GW2 and just 'assume' nothing is being updated whereas there is updates however they are under the hood updates or tweaking going on with professions and whatnot. That's my take on it at least.

  17. This. One of the reasons why I've hold off on even buying the scrolls is because of the fact that they'd clutter up the bank, even with them all stored in a 'tome'. I either force each toon i have through the first part of the story to get the first WP or I designate one toon as the 'get everything' toon. Something that had pages (tabs) like the vendors do would be an immense QoL improvement. Though I can just imagine the coding around such a thing so prolly something on the 'soon' table that'll never happen.

  18. Player housing or revamped home instances (let me put trophies down to show off killing Teq! that shouldn't be a guild only thing!)

But honestly....dungeons especially with the new strike missions coming up. Logically we have dungeons that upgrade to fractals and it doesn't really make sense to have all these new fractals and no new dungeons. It'd also help me refresh myself on who half the npcs are anymore instead of having to check the wiki and go 'wait who was Bottica again?', 'who's Agent Kito?', etc. Like it'd have been interesting to get a dungeon in HoT for the Chak and have Gorrik all excitedly telling you about them while you go through and get him data on like the spit, nesting habits, mating habits, and all that while questioning his bug obsession. Or a dungeon with Agent Kito dealing with the Hamaseen and a smuggling den of theirs possibly having some surviving scarab plague or something.

  19. Oh man, if it asked for compensation from every game that had to disable one thing because it glitched. I'd probably still be playing WoW. The amount of times an item glitched, a quest, a mob, a skill, a mount, a boss, etc glitched out, I should have been asking for compensation instead of going 'yeah I can just see them talking to rubber ducks now so I'mma let them just fix it'.

  20. I'm curious on how they will play out but it will definitely help me gauge better on if I want to try raids or not. I'm not gauging my response though on the content but on the players. If raiders here act anything like the ones in WoW did when LFR was introduced, it will definitely help me decide on whether or not I want to raid. It'll give me a good gauge on which guilds are actually helpful and which ones are toxic. An example being, there was a warrior in the Sha of Anger fight that just filled chat with vitriol that was in mythic gear, blaming the healers for constantly dying and linking his recount over and over again showing him top damage and calling everyone worthless, etc. and unfortunately there were plenty others like him. If I go into a few hundred Strike Missions and have people in ascended gear in most of them basically showing this same attitude, I'll decide that I will not touch raiding at all and the Missions will probably be the farthest I go. First impressions, at least to me, do exist in games and seeing a raider act like that in a 'raid lite' basically tells me they act worse in an actual raid. I've dug through too many mounds of crap trying to find gold. I'm not gonna go the distance on something I'm actually interested in just to get screamed at. If I'm doing that, I may as well just wait until my shift at work where at least I get paid.

  21. @"GreyFox.8046" said:I feel like we need more contact with the Dev team. As someone that isn't actively looking in nooks and crannies for what Devs have to say, I present an easier method that gets public attention to the game that is NEEDED, the advertisement scene is lacking. Twitch Streaming with the devs, talking about content updates each set number of weeks, also fun streams that are actually engaging to the community, like Warframe for example. They NAIL the marketing and are so in touch with their community. Please take their game as an example of how to improve yours.

I'm not pointing fingers saying this game is better or vice verse, I'm just applying my perspective from another game that I would like to see in this one, which will gain it benefit. So, if the devs reading are not aware of what I am even talking about, Warframe hosts weekly shows called "Prime time" and "DevStream" and been doing successfully since so since launch. Integrate gem drops perhaps into twitch streams, or any skin rewards or what not to get people to start watching.I just want to see the game flourish into something even more beautiful in the coming months and years.

I understand the feels but I've also seen the backside of this. The Dev Ghostcrawler for WoW. I liked the guy, he was actively on the forums, telling us what's up on the forums. But people would sit there and attack him on anything he posted on. Someone could post about a class question and Ghostcrawler would pop in and explain it only to have subsequent posts be people replying to him about things that weren't even about the question. I watched a post about him answering a question about the ghost crab hunter pet, one of the moves it did and was it an easter egg devolve into the thread being locked/deleted because suddenly there was a slew of people going off topic in the thread demanding fixes for pvp, this class needs a nerf, that class needs a buff, etc.I've also seen things lauded over devs heads. I'm on a discord where the devs are active in talking to people and sometimes, it's frustrating seeing someone @ a dev over and over again about a bug even though the dev addressed it in the first @ and explained they were working on it but it isn't gonna be an easy fix. I've watched these devs talk on a stream and then mention something in the discord just to have someone go well that's not what was said on the streaaam and the devs trying to explain that they had limited time to stream and are trying to explain it better. I've watched these devs go from being active and friendly on the discord daily, to commenting here and there to finally appointing volunteer admins for the discord and only talking when something major is up simply because the fanbase stressed them out. Some fans, unfortunately, seem to think that if a dev talks to you, they will always want to talk to you.

And while Warframe is a great example on what to do to garner interest and interact with the fanbase, also know that we have people right now complaining that they didn't get the Aurene code because the stream happened while they were at work/school/life/etc. The twitch announcement I last had was 3 days ago before the main event. So they do tend to stream quite a bit (I like watching the ones of the artwork and that as it helps keep me motivated in practicing drawing) and if they added codes to that, I can still see people going, I don't want to sit through a 2 hour stream for a code, what timestamp does the code show up or complaining that they missed the stream. The discord I mentioned above always gave codes away during their early streams and gave streamers codes to give away as well....until people just started posting 'here's the codes' on the forums and in the discord itself. Now I rarely see a code pop up that isn't time-gated to an hour after the stream which again would have people complaining that they have work/school/life/etc and they didn't get a chance at a free item. The devs here know they can't please everyone and how their fanbase is sadly and I understand why they do things the way they do.

Also since I mentioned discord, I actually get a LOT of info from discord of what's going on with GW2 which seems to be an easier source of what's going on than following them on twitter or even e-mail (like I got the event emails after the event has been active for a few days instead of the day it started) so maybe they either need to work out some bugs to get everything evened out on announcing or find out what discord is doing as for its algorithm as the dash for that updates daily and I see all the current news for all the games I play in one spot (like I haven't played Terraria in a year and I get a blurb on my dash about the mobile update even though I play PC o.0) .
