  1. This entire personal story mission is awful and I feel like anyone who doesn't know about it and chooses it over Ossuary of the Unquiet Dead is screwed and unable to progress. It is a known bug that accidentally falling off the stairs on the ship gets your avatar stuck behind a wall, unable to progress and having to restart. It is a known bug that Researcher Maeva becomes non interactable and stops giving you ghostfire to place around to advance the mission and having to restart. Last night, BOTH of those things happened, and my partner and I literally had to quit the game after a couple of resets because it became impossible, due to these bugs, to complete the story. I also noticed a new bug: if you play with someone else, the story can bug out and the player's avatar that is not the owner of the instance can appear in the cutscenes and the NPCs follow and require direction from the person that is not the owner of the instance, even if that person already completed their personal story. This sabotages the owner of the instance's personal story. Please fix these bugs that have been out for a few years. This game came out in 2012 and I think it is a little unacceptable at this point to still have these bugs in the game when they have been known for so long. Some players like to go back and complete old content, but for those that are new to the game it can put them off wanting to play altogether when they come across such gamebreaking bugs, especially if they've been doing the same mission over and over and still unable to finish due to no fault of their own.
  2. "No one is forcing me to buy them" is the oldest argument in the book. Thanks for the constructive criticism, but your argument is shallow and quite frankly overused. It doesn't erase the fact that I WANT mount skins for a game I BOUGHT. It's not a F2P game. I paid for the expansion to access the mount system and all of its features. ALL. OF. ITS. FEATURES. Like I said, which people either skim over or ignore completely, they can add plenty of mount skins to the gem store as long as they have a good supply of ones you can earn in game. You know, playing the game? Furthermore, they should have released these new skins in sets of 5 for 1600 gems (a la Spooky Mounts pack), which doesn't overwhelm the consumer nor make anything RNG. People are making a fuss because the price is outrageous; not because, as you like to assume, they don't have a job, aren't contributing anything to society or don't want to support the company. PS - the definition of gamble: to take risky action in the hope of a desired result.Mount Licenses: " You are guaranteed to win SOMETHING." You don't know what that is. You hope it's something good. You hope you didn't waste your money on a crappy thing you didn't want. Just like Black Lion Chests. Except with skins. PPS- I'm a real consumer working in a professional, non minimum wage career who actively buys things from their store, but not like this. I am a lot more financially responsible than to drop that much money on nonsense.
  3. Let's talk about the new mount skins, available from the Black Lion Trading Co. for 9500 gems, or $120 US, or $153 CDN. Here's the deal with gem store purchases. I'm not against them, but I have a problem when new content is only available through them; and things like new mount skins, which gets everybody excited, is new content. Like I said, it's cool if ANET releases new skins in the store to get some revenue, but they haven't released a single mount skin (as of Nov 7, 2017) that you can earn in game through questing or otherwise. That's a problem. It doesn't feel good to take out my cc and pay for a skin like it does to earn it. Then I can say," yeah I just spent the last hour on this cool quest line that gave me this skin at the end, or this repeatable heart quest NPC has cool mount skins I can purchase with the trade contracts I accumulated from playing the game." It sounds stupid in my head to say, "yeah I just spent $153 CDN to buy the 30 license mount skin pack because I really wanted this particular one but it's random number generated. I didn't want to gamble, and paying for them individually costs even more in the long run so...." It's not "just aesthetics." No one wants to look basic while playing a fantasy game. If every new aesthetic they release is just something you need to buy, it gets old real quick. Guild Wars 2 is, sans core version, a buy to play MMORPG game. To me this means I'd like some rewarding content to incite me to keep playing; to have goals to work towards. I don't mind spending a reasonable amount of money here and there (let's say $10-20 a month) on cosmetic things in the gem store to show my love and support for the game and all the effort put into developing it, but I will never spend $153 all in one go; that's more than the Ultimate Edition of their newest expansion and then some. Don't think I haven't noticed these skins are available for "only 7 days," creating an artificial urgency to impulse buy. Add some skins acquirable through playing your game to off set the ones purchasable through the gem store. Yours truly, Player, Emissary of the Mad King Who Won't Indulge These Ridiculous Prices PS - On a relatable note, glider skins are in the same boat. There are currently only 3 available glider skins, not including basic glider, that are available to earn in game as of Nov 7, 2017: Warbringer (PVP rank 6), Ad Infinitum and The Ascension. Heart of Thorns released in 2015. Let that sink in.
  4. I would like to see the raven mini make a return. I've been waiting for years to complete my Ranger look. I may have to settle for Oxidacimus this Halloween season.
  5. The free to play player base are not at a disadvantage because there is no area in core Tyria that can't be reached without a mount. Mounts are a mechanic in PoF due to the structure of the new maps, and needing mounts to transverse the landscape and reach these areas. We've been playing GW2 for years without mounts; there is nothing mounts provide that is an advantage over anything in core Tyria. It just gives players better quality of life of not having to walk everywhere. The F2P version is more of a trial to try out the game with an indefinite time limit. I don't think anyone is meant to play GW2 for free without upgrading at some point.
