  1. I totally agree with you, Arenanet promised a lot but failed to deliver and that first impression is lasting for a lot of players that tried the game out at the beginning. Even tho the game has improved for those that witnessed the game at the start, most of them never came back. What makes me believe that Arenanet still has not pushed GW2 forward after all those years and that's why the game was and still is lagging behind the top 3 MMORPG's FFXIV, ESO and WOW.. and I think mostly will never change, like you said just check the quarterly earning reports what a clear indication is that players are not willing to spend money in the cash shop. The thing is reward wise doing PVE and PVP content is just useless and bad, the only endgame is farming gold and converting gold into gems to buy store items and that is the BIGGEST issue with the game. If they had normal gear progression or something that is meaningful to be rewarded with by doing PVE and PVP a lot more players would play the game, also by making all those convenient items by default available instead buying from the cash shop would bring more players in. By doing that they then could stop the gold into gem conversion and just sell cosmetic items only. Players would be satisfied with having real rewards in game that they can work towards instead of crafting items and by having some good banged out new content each 3 months would also help a lot to keep players coming back. On top of that go full out nuts on the cosmetics and only cosmetics in the cash shop that you can buy with money that are reasonable prized and players I think would be happy to spend more because they see the game has regular good content that is rewarding so why not support them by buying those cosmetics. That way a lot more new players would be willing to try out the game instead to be hit immediately with 'I need to buy bag/bank space and so on...'. because my bags are full off all those items that I don't even have a clue what they are for... and as new player you have nog gold so you spend some money on the cash shop to get those convenient items (bag/bank-bags...ect..) and after few days you are like F-this I am out and you never come back because it keeps going on. Maybe I'm rambling but I think players get my point. Heck even I was disappointed and was gone for several years, only recently I came back to check out the new expansion just to be disappointed, but still try to keep myself telling the game is okey but more and more I play I'm like why am I doing this?
  2. You are right, I have been hearing that from other players also. Also that is the only end-game atm in GW2 and has been for a while sadly.
  3. Do you think I'm the only one that thinks the reward system in GW2 is bad and mostly useless? Don't get me wrong I love the game and I like to play it but the reward system is just bad as a lot of other GW2 players have stated on social platforms. I know there is always the hardcore crowd that dislikes changes even if is for the beter because they never knew otherwise and I can't blame them. This is just my own opinion.
  4. Well the game is build around endless achievement grinds. Having at least some grind that puts some meaningful rewards into your hands sounds not that bad to me.
  5. I'm just wondering what direction Arenanet will take GW2 in the upcoming months/years. The EOD expansion was for me not that appealing, quality wise and features wise you can definitely see that the other 2 expansions were way more polished and packed. Personally I would like to see: - New features (Different gametypes PVE/PVP) that are interesting and fun to do that actually have real rewards that mean something, instead of getting loot-boxes of mats that are worth nothing. - Making Dungeons/Raids more meaningful reward wise, instead rewarding players with 2-3gold /LOL whats the point in doing them? . - Let us have some kind of tokens to get items with it like set-item with specific buffs from a vendor, if you are not willing to make truly new gear that have higher stats. Running around for several years with the same gear stat wise, it just feels old and is not exiting. - Adding new classes/professions. - Having a roadmap for new fresh players, more in-game explanation instead to be reliant on 3th party sites for information. - Upgrading the graphic engine? To keep up with the time. - Improving the performance? I know DX11 is here, but is that all? - Adding more CPU/GPU initialization so that new hardware can make use of it, instead having a high-end system that you can't benefit from playing GW2 because of the old engine. GW2 has more potential but somehow it feels like Arenanet is holding back.
  6. Hi All, I just started playing GW2 again on my ranger and was looking for advise for a untamed build and soulbeast build. My gear is ' Adian' atm, the stats are ' power, precision, condition dmg' and I was looking for a build that goes along with it, like Untamed build and Soulbeast build. Could you guys provide me with some example builds including the gear runes and weapon types + sigil's I can use best? /Thanks a lot!
