I hope this post reaches someone in Anet. It's not a good sign how this has been ignored going by historical posts on the topic. I aim to highlight this issue in a way that has it actually addressed. This is not intended to be a rant post for my own catharsis. It needs to be addressed, and it can be done cost-effectively. The Problem
Cheating has been a problem in WvW for a long time. This topic has been covered over the years numerous times, but the problem has not even been remotely addressed.
There is no easy fix for hackers and there's no perfect system that prevents players from clipping through walls and taking round about methods to glitch into keeps that are closed.
However, this does not prevent reasonable adjustments being made to limit the damage it does to player morale and engagement.
When there are guilds who frequently use mesmers who glitch or no-clip there way into keeps to portal in their squads. When even 1 stray thief can stealth indefinitely inside a keep only to effectively 'reset' their squads failed capture. When the map groans in chat when they hear "thief/mesmer in keep", knowing they'll be stuck either playing cat and mouse, looking like Tom against the proverbial Jerry, or essentially surrendering their defending point if they leave.
This is a problem. It does not need to be a problem. Players quit WvW over this. No one wants to play against cheaters that won't be punished. There is a solution.
Proposed Solution
A few lines of code, and immediately the damage done by bad actors drops by orders of magnitude. No dev time needs to be spent in on pruning map geometry. No anti-cheat needs to be used to stop third party programs. There will be less need to report players who do cheat, since it won't be nearly as destructive. The player-base can go back to fighting over points instead of skipping past it all. Jaded players who left WvW might even be heartened to come back.

These posts don't reflect my views but they highlight the ecosystem at play here.
Thank you for reading this far. If I could ask those inclined to write about your experiences in the comments and how it's affected the quality of WvW for you.
