  1. You guys think Anet will course-correct before release? Or will they say screw the players... it's about the profit? I bet they say screw the players, it takes way too much resources to make 16 unique legendaries.
  2. You can still have a full legendary set themed around Aurene, and maintain the uniqueness of each. You can have one based on each stage of Aurene's journey... when she was in HoT, in PoF, during her battle with Kralk, when she ate "that guy" (that'd be awesome theme for a necro staff). You can get really creative with it, and I have no doubt the Anet crew is creative... which means they got lazy, or were mandated by the top brass to take the easy road for lowest effort and highest profit margin.
  3. So I saw a sneak peak of the new legendary weapon sets... they have an Aurene theme. I personally don't like the way they look, but I understand that liking/disliking aesthetics is subjective so we won't touch that. What I WILL touch on is... why in the hell does the ENTIRE legendary set have a singular theme? These aren't legendary weapons, these are your Black Lion skins with additional effects and footfalls. What happened to each legendary weapon having its own unique flavor/aesthetic? Yes, I can already foresee the arguments on the other side of the coin... about how you can now have your primary and secondary weapon sets with the same theme. Great, so now we can all design our wardrobes around the same aesthetic... we can have uniforms! No, but seriously... having an entire legendary weapon set with the same aesthetic theme feels like anet is getting lazy, and just milking gw2 on its way out.
  4. It's very difficult to set a goal for anything that WvW offers as an end reward because the WvW tempo feels like a slow-burn movie. The vast majority of my time in WvW is spent pulling up the main map, looking to see if any of the home waypoints have adjacent camps ready to be flipped, travel there to flip the camp, then pull up the map and do it again. Otherwise on Eternal Battle Grounds... If you DO happen to find a zerg to join... it becomes a zerg dance between two groups that do this weird back and forth. Generally speaking the outcome is decided without any real contest... the server with more members logged in at that time dominates the map. I'm also unsure if WvW hit the mark in that it's supposed to be more accessible to PvE-centric players, or if it missed the mark because it's sort of a PvP-Lite for SPvP players. It's in this weird spot where some PvP balancing doesn't apply, and PvE attributes are usable. Overall WvW feels like a mini-MMO unto itself where overworld ganking/PvP is allowed... minus the amazing PvE content.
  5. I'm not sure if Anet actually does anything to reports of AFK players in sPvP. But if they do... it isn't meaningful enough to cause any noticeable decrease in its prevalence. I get an AFK player every few games, and I report them whenever I see them. Now you can go into whether or not a specific player had enough reports to warrant action... or any justification within that scope. But the bottom line stands... whatever mechanic is in place to prevent AFK players... isn't effective. I have witnessed more AFK players in PvP in Guild Wars 2 than any other game I have played in the last... well... ever.
  6. The timer for the XP boosters should pause while waiting for SPvP queue.
  7. I don't know if this is an oversight, or intended... but either way... it is very bad. I spent about 45 mins or so in that instance... some of the other players weren't the greatest. One guy died towards the very end and went afk. Worst part, he was afk right where the tank positions itself to harpoon... which made it annoying to enter the tank. After a very long, drawn out fight, I opened the chests and saw the portal and walked right through thinking it would advance the story. No prompts, no "out of bounds" warnings, you just walk up to the portal and boom.... you exit the instance without completing the story and you have to do it all over again. Screw LW... I'm not playing that thing again lol. Once is enough.
  8. Never had this problem before. After the most recent patch (actually the patch before that), random disconnect has hit me about 7-8 times now. At first I thought it only happened during high-FPS moments... but not so. Sometimes happens just standing around in a relatively empty space. Happened during ranked pvp and caused my team to lose and drop rank...which is really annoying to say the least. Just happened a few minutes ago... which finally prompted this post.
  9. WOOOORST PART ABOUT ALL THIS...? Is I have a feeling the Skyscale isn't even worth this much grind. I got a feeling most people will very rarely use their Skyscale. It seems only useful in maps with a lot of very high vertical movement... like Dragonfall, some parts of Desolation, and maybe specific HoT areas. Other than that... the vast majority of people will use it just as often as you see the Jackal used. People who use Jackal as their main mount instead of the Raptor are exceptions to the rule... but not the rule.
