I am actually shocked that someone still crafts or buys ascended gear. Thought people will be complaining about legendary kits.

HOT still stands as the best expansion ever. Unique and fun metas , great map design - I mean I play this game for 5 years but still if I make 10 steps from waypoint in Tangled Depths - I am lost. Good story that feels personal and tense.
After that we had POF - hot pile of steaming garbage aside from mount system. I hate everything about it - colors ,. flat maps , setting , enemies , story.
And EOD is just mediocre. Better than POF , metas are decent , personally I like final meta it feels really epic. Jade tech visuals and concept are also nice. Story is , again , decent. I don't hate it , even liked Mai Trin part.

Dunno I like EoD metas.
They feel like a proper events not like HoT 3-5 minutes faceroll.
All we need is a little bit more players doing it.

I mean mob placement in gw2 is not as bad as it was in Tera for example ( I am talking 60 + areas packed with mobs ) but still annoying sometimes.
Like come on , we all know that road blocks , traps and mobs with slow and cripple abilities exist only to annoy you , slow you down and make you spend more time playing.
But as I said above it's not so bad it could have been so I am ok with it.

Ultimately I think ANet bit off more than they could chew with a cosmetic reward and horizontal progression system. They cannot come close to producing cosmetics, nor introduce meaningful masteries, at a rate that satisfy the desire for rewards that dont feel like just another few coppers en route to that 1k gold purchase.
As a person without a single legendary I can understand.
My whole bank is like 800g in mats and 300 in cash.
And in order to make that gold you need to farm group content like t4 fractals or spend many hours in Drizzlewood or something.
I don't want to do either of those things.
So I just kind of gave up on legendaries.
But I still like gw2 loot system.
One of the healthiest economies I ever seen.

Or people just play one class because heal mech is meta right now ( and not easy to play ) , quick scrapper and power holo is a thing again, and mech is giga chad in open world and really useful for someone who wants to do solo bounties.
For me biggest problem with pMech is not difficulty but nearly perfect dps application because of invincible mech and pew-pew rifle while other classes have to deal with timings , positioning , mechanics.
Something from low difficulty , high damage , perfect application had to go.
Dunno if devs did a good job I don't play pMech I play condi in OW.

I did it one time to see what it's like.
It was long and unusually hard for gw2 meta ( like TT only x2 )
And people here saying it was even harder ? Whoa
But I guess it's fine to have one such meta.
I mean all hot metas now can be done in 2 minutes. Total faceroll.
So having one more or less challenging event is fine I guess.

I mean pretty much any open world build aimed on doing bounties and metas solo uses celestial , trailblazer or any other gear with defensive stats.
Pure viper or berserker is for masochists. Not to mention that for certain classes celestial and berserk have comparable damage.

I remember people were crying that balance update is not going change anything.
Meanwhile reaper gained 5k dps and even listed as "viable" build on SC.

I don't think this is completely fair.
Having tp scrolls already HUGE alt-friendly QoL feature.
Most games are not going to offer you even that.
And shared slots add even more convenience to it.
So it's kinda win-win situations imo.

Who knows ? Maybe it's supposed to be group effort. Maybe you will get more essence with mastery ( if you don't have it ) but in any case rift hunting looks incredibly dull for now.
