I voted crystal/geode dragon because it sounds dope and brings me back to my Heroes/Might and Magic days.

Waiting for the griffon flying community to come in and be bamboozled by this post.

@Rubi Bayer.8493 (apologies with lobbing you with another question, as I'm sure you're up to your eyeballs in them right now)
Just seeking some clarification about the legendary backpack.
Is it open-world, or is it earnable in raid? Site lacks a definitive answer as to its obtainability; I figure spear is open world at the very least. If it is raid earned, does the open-world event version contribute towards it or na?

My only thought and concern here are two things.
A: they're going to use homesteads as the new monetisation guinea pig (which, free to play game, that's fine and all- they need to make money somehow- as long as there are in-game earnable homesteads we can collect as well. I'm kinda broke here man.)
B: my contribution to the alt problem is give us "loadouts" a lot like the equipment or build templates so if we switch characters, we can somehow swap the appearance of the homestead without compromising the account-wide benefits of the system. Might come at the cost of loudout slot limitations but its better than being stuck to the one across account. My OCD brain would prefer that than having to sit there and deco each individual character's home, because for me it feels micromanagey at that point (it's purely a me issue. I know I could just *not* do it but brain says no).

My question is: why does this hurt people so much? I get immersion is great and everything but wha?
Wouldn't they need a huge list of things to tick (maybe through the bank/account vault) in order for something like this to work? (Legit curiosity. I'm no tech savvy person.)

*puts my tinfoil hat on.*
Wouldn't it be something if that's the feature of next expac: just a complete graphic overhaul.
Nah, honestly I think the current graphics are holding up just fine despite being a 10+ year old game.

Adding my voice to the chorus. Just got this achi, but stuck at 2/11. Ditto for Skyfarer.

I just had a fail on Umbriel at his 1% split phase that jebaited everyone and got us all killed. I've never hated this boss more than what I do now on public.

I just had a total 1% wipe on Umbriel's split phase and I've never hated this boss on public more than I do now. That was a 30 minute waste of my time with a 3 hr time gate on my suffused rune.

It sure does seem like its spears on land. I'm honestly chuffed, but I need to see the rest of the expac before they sell me. Though its very close to tugging me by the collar with the possible woodland cascades hints... ha.
The "feature we've been asking for for five years" could also elude to a few things. A new raid for one. Hell, I'll even take a losing gamble of maybe a new class or race, but if it just the spears then, I'll take that too. Hopefully there's range and melee variants depending on the class.

People do it mostly for memesakes. If you want more grounded while touching on fantasy elements, I ironically recommend FF14. I found "grounded" present there quite a lot despite the anime. The only "hyper flashy" I've seen there have been artifact weapons (and the game spell effects-- LOOKING AT YOU RED MAGE LIMIT BREAK, but I digress).
As for the flashiness... It really depends who's perspective you look at it from. I enjoy the accessibility of the obnoxious to more subtle preferences, for those who want to go ham and be a giant walking meme (there's a lot of those people, and more power to em), but I personally spend a lot of time intricately crafting characters for RP sakes who have a certain theme with flair. Got my firebrand themed after a phoenix as an example, or my Spectre loaded with night/astral themes. GW2 is the only MMO I've actually been able to pull similar themes from has been WoW and Destiny. It's a balancing act and depending on your tastes it could be good or bad, otherwise the high fantasy elements are still very much present in this game and many others aesthetically.

Can I ask what timer is talked about?
It's less a timer and more an animation lock in a sense after you open the box. Takes a bit to wear off before you can do anything.

Making annoying mechanics to then "reduce the annoyance" isn't masterful at all, is in fact, just horrible game design.
Honestly this was my thought as well. I saw this mastery and immediately thought to myself "why wasn't this just baked into the initial release?" Catch up mechanics aside for the armor, the reduced amount of times you press the button to open the arcane chests really should have just been there from the get go.
Except every time I do open a box now I have to wait for the long animation lock to end before I can mount again. Drudge.

Sorry but after my experience with WoW's budget BR and Mists of Pandaria remix, and the disaster that has been, I don't want to see any new modes in this game for a developer that already struggles for budget as it is. It won't be implemented well, neither will most of these other "I want x modes in GW2" that can't support it. I'd rather do what Anet can do best with the resources they have and give quality content we're more or less familiar with than trying to break the mould with expectations as if they're triple A when they're anything but.

Spoiler
ANET gave us THREE fights with Eparch. In the story, in the meta, and in a fractal. That's.... something.
I can finally bust out the "how many times do we need to teach you this lesson, old man?!" meme!- 2

The inconsistency is kinda baffling not gonna lie.
They gave an achi prior to the finale of EoD to do the meta before the story instance, but then they forgot about it with Soto? And here I was expecting this to become the norm after dragon's end. /sarcasm.

y'all need a chill pill, eesh. Cringe.
Its not about DPS. OP was talking about the inconvenience of getting back to the boss and y'all derailed it to it being a "sounds like a you problem" argument. Get back on topic; who's ego is bigger isn't the problem here.
And I agree. Getting back to Eparch is a bit of a doozy. Portals need fixing and a clearer path needs to be set for people.

People who are coming in here spitting the contrarian tryhard "it sounds like a you problem" attitude are the ones getting lucky. Some of us aren't. I've done this at least 5 times and every single time its failed. I recognise the issues, (being that people are still learning; it's only week 1) but everyone's experiences are different. Soo-won had this same problem and now its easier once everyone got a hang of what to do.

It doesn't do damage by your standards but it does *some* damage, minimal as it may be. Its not nothing diddly squat at all. Yes autoing is higher in damage I concede but its still something. The scaling is annoying but its more annoying when people are just standing there, having tagged once and choose to die/not WP.

Duress has this as well. I had to look up when SOTO was released and its almost been a full year; 1337 is the change with the new year if I understand how the journal dates work. Its a reflection of change in time from irl.
I think.

The skyscale and turtle don't do any damage compared to if someone was simply autoattacking a boss so it's always annoying to see someone just on their skyscale tossing fireballs while I'm doing all the work.
This is a double edged sword. On one hand I tell people to get off their Skyscales because I too value teamwork, but on the other: my friend's counter argument is at least they're not just *standing there* and doing nothing at all. Which happened (happens?) a lot on Drakkar. I don't like it either but its a nuanced thing.

This may be unpopular, but an easy Skyscale mount?

Not willing to put in the effort, you don't deserve it.
I hate this mentality of people needing instant gratification for everything they do these days. Doing SOTO for the Skyscale is not that hard: toughen up and go do it, or don't play this game and find something more befitting to you instead of spending your days whining on the forums about no insta-dragon (or any other mounts for that matter).
Someone might think I'm gatekeeping, and sure, I am what you say I am, but its the way of life.
