  1. We all know it's borderline insane just how bad the spells clutter an area, right? Its top-tier insanity and I can't believe it's still a thing. For the love of Balthazar fix this... When you have to design fights for people to just zerg mindlessly instead of creating fights with proper mechanics because you know players can't see anything but flashy rainbows you have yourself the worst kind of game, one that people have to pretend they're playing. That's what world content feels like. This isn't "GW2 is too casual" this is, GW2 is too flashy. Which leaves it more "follow the light" than anything that requires player interaction. It's really sad to see this still a problem because there's so much potential in the content they give us. One of the few games that offers world content, like a MMO should. The hint of mechanics with every fight held back because it's dependent on you wearing a blindfold to (pretend to) play. It's like if somebody shined a flashlight in your face while you're trying to play. This is the first game I've ever experienced with this problem on this level, and we all know how flashy mobile/korean MMOs are, right?
  2. Yeaaah, I don't count leveling. It's just a tutorial system and repair costs usually account for the progression. Damage wouldn't matter there either like you explained. The cost of repair doesn't have to be irrelevant though, especially in a game where it matters how you spend your gold. Gear taking damage is a traditional consequence to dying, for games that have no other means of enforcing a consequence beyond restarting that one fight or not beating a clock.
  3. You want your kid to learn how to ride a bike and take care of that bike. He falls down, the bike is scuffed a bit. Kid is new, it'll happen. Do you:1) Employ magic that'll never let his feelings or imaginary bike get hurt ever again!2) Check if he's okay then teach him how to maintain the bike in a good working condition for next time. (Otherwise that bike may eventually be unusable.)
  4. Oh no, I'm not so harsh I would want it to account for legendaries. lol Knowing it'll never happen I didn't get too specific. Fair point, unless being revived didn't make any difference to damaged gear. >=D
  5. In the grand scheme of things I wouldn't have the cost be too great but not forget-about-it-minor like Waypoints and typically they account for low-level vs high-level players anyway. Quality of gear makes sense too. I get the whole "game for casuals" for open world content but the fact they want to encourage more to raid and don't know why people don't seems to me they don't know the type of game they made. "either that, or remove ALL the anvils across the game lol." Ooh, I thought I was the devious one here. xD
  6. To be fair any gold sink isn't a problem for vets and yet they add some more anyway. lol New players would learn how to adapt once they got used to it, like all the other small fees that add up over time. That's not a bad idea but wouldn't effect all content in the same punishing way. I always thought one waypoint would be enough per zone. lol
  7. Sure to carry weight but I think in those cases it would just be too inconvenient. They didn't add all those anvils for nothing... or did they? xD
  8. That would be a nice touch assuming it's not on the first death but if repairs are still free it would still be ever so insignificant.
  9. Instant repair kits are practically useless, they shouldn't be afraid to remove such a thing if they were to go that route. I'd prefer they improve the armor damage/repair system though instead or remove it. The game would still play pretty darn casual but with a subtle reminder for people to die less (I hope).
  10. Please bring back the consequence of death, repair costs. It doesn't have to be incredibly expensive but it should not be too cheap either. There shouldn't even be damage to gear without it costing us to repair otherwise it's just there for show. As it stands players can die repeatedly without a care in the world, just run back and be as reckless as before. (Extra thought: If GW2 wasn't trying to be a mobile game I'd dare say it should even require you to completely replace broken gear. That would certainly light a fire under butts to be more cautious in combat, not to mention add a reason for us to (maybe sometimes) use all that gear in the game after actually setting up a set.)
  11. I think what would help people get into raiding is reducing the visual clutter... When you can't see what to dodge, you don't dodge. At least have an optional setting ._.
  12. I'd say don't give them anymore ideas for the cash shop but I'm sure they thought of everything already. Just taking their sweet time with it all...Actually that reminds me I thought they should have an in-game calendar for organized events. If there was an option to open invitations to the public as well not just being limited to guilds that could work too. Could possibly have an alarm system tied to chat and an app.
  13. For search I actually think a highlighter could make things a lot easier just for knowing what players are actively doing. Highlighting the category and subsection for any with a party/squad.
  14. The problem: Looking at categories to find no-one. It's a little tedious to check each tab, zone, and/or instance just to find an active group that may or may not be there. Solution: Highlight all the categories and subsections with a listed group, so people know immediately where other players are waiting upon opening LFG. Clutter-free. (If Icon, not unlike the blue one leading you to "Your Group".) I don't think a list of all the listed groups in one section would be as ideal. Creating a clutter while making categories only necessary to narrow things down if used at all.
