  1. Legendary Weapons - Need 1 WvW reward track completed for Gift of Battle which is approx. 8.5 hrs of gameplay in WvW (assuming no Reward Track boosts) . It's tedious, but not horrible to get. That, and it's fairly easy to get Ascended Weapons with the Elite Spec. collections, that you often don't really need Legendary Weapons for the Stat Swap. Legendary Armour is obtainable for PvE, WvW, & PvP without needing to set foot outside each of those modes, with different gates (both time and skill)PvE - Raids, requiring wing/boss completions, a collection, and cost of Materials. I think it was approx 10 weeks for your first set, and 21 weeks for ever set thereafter.PvP - PvP League Completions for Ascended & regular Shards, and cost of Materials. Low end can get 1 Legendary/season, regularly can get 2 Legendary Pieces per Season, but you can then grind for Ascended Shards to stock up for subsequent seasons. (My personal favourite way, despite the name-calling in PvP)WvW - Approx. 1 Legendary/4 Weeks of completing Skirmish Track, and cost of Materials. If you enjoy WvW, this is for you, as you get it passively just by running around whacking things. If you are just starting WvW, Completed Wood Division in prior week, and your server has the lowest war score, it works out to approx. 4.3 hrs of gameplay in WvW per day to max out your Skirmish track. On average, you're looking at about 3 hrs/day, less if you manage to get Outnumbered for a long while. (WvW takes a while though as it's not the most material lucrative method). WvW=fancy name for pvp, I'll never set foot on any pvp map, since 2020 is the year to ditch pvp luckly I've found a new game 100% pvp free not even duel is avaiable.
  2. Will only be worth doing any legendary stuff if you 100% untie from PVP content. I will not humor this type of event and the game should be fair for all types of gameplay, if you like to do pvp you should be able to do anything you want without leaving pvp / wvw arena, same to pve, I shouldn't even fathom to enter these areas just to have a fraction of what I need, spend hours of undesired gameplay for the amusement of others. Unless legendary gear is obtainable from pve side, is not even worth to play GW2 anymore.
  3. After spending years on stupid mmos developed from short sighted programmers, I finally found GW2, where I will never need to be forced into undesired PvP ever again. Nowadays the concept of harassing other players, have become a common idiocracy on Asian game market.
  4. Oh, in addition to that, could you please disable cutscenes of Silverwastes? Is really annoying when your fighting a bunch of mobs and those get in the way.

  6. Well, I'm relativelly new to the game, can't tell the difference between pvp or WvW, don't really care either since I'll never be setting foot on those. The proposal was to make the item avaiable in pve content and not escalate to a discussion if some is that or not.Few things got me upset on this quest1-even if I coud finish the sword I have other toons that uses Greatsword Build, I would never be able to do it again because one iten is locked on the achievement of the light capture thing.2-the jp part that some times I needed to do, one of the most anoying features of GW2. Sometimes I was lucky and found some kind mesmer that had a toon on the spot, for this I admit I'm too clunsy3-hours of grinding, farming, giving away stuff for npcs and I can't even profit from it, since essence of illumination is locked due reason #14-I have an axe and a longbow on early stages, I will forfit them since they're also locked the same way of the others Pretty sure the upcoming legendary runes might be limited as well, so no a game to everyone. Saying as a player and former Ragnarok scripter, no game should ever lock gear / weapons / mounts to specific game mode, for example:-why warclaw can't be summoned in open world? Is it afraid? I read a lot of complains prior to warclaw mount of people of WvW that didn't want a mount in there I do believe leg gear should be hard to craft but the only requirement should be dedication (or gold for the richies).
  7. Thank you all, most of you gave me good insights about the theme, so let's clarify some points:-forced. No poor choice of words, I meant I was "given no choice" to aquire the item, that's why I tried to get a shortcut on the words and "forced" came up. So I would have a choice if I could get the item from PVP, WvW and PVE, so devs aren giving me a choice, to aquire the final product I must force myself to a game mode I don't like.-TP: I saw the sunrise on tp, but what sense of acomplishment that will give me? I could do as I saw on few areas put a toon with pets / summons and make gold. Or I could craft tons of "Dawn" and sell if another required iten wasn't locked by a reward track. The essence of ilumination can only be aquired once from Hobbs, so I busted my ass to get the recipes and cannot craft one for any other toon I have on same account.-I'm mostly a solo player, even this is an MMO and intentions are interact with othe people, on overall scenario I do all my stuff alone, if I liked pvp I would stayed in the previous games I quoted in the beggining, because they don't require to buy expansions to play the content I like or dislike. As for cosmetics I don't care either, the fact I'm going to the legendary gear is simply adapt to different situations like make all in one toon that can handle most of the stuff I do. GW2 is an awesome game, but it lacks open minded management to be fit for everone's play style. I'm not a single guy that want one change, I'm sure that there are lots of people wandering why this or that coudn't be this way or that way, but don't step up to ask for it.   8. I just don't understand this need to force people into situations that they're not confortable with. Are devs or pvp players afraid that if they don't get a forced reason those maps get deserted? Because back in the days of Ragnarok that was what happened, on pvp maps there were the same 10-12 all day, then all of a sudden devs felt this need to force people on this. These changes are not game breaking, there will always have people interested on this style of gameplay, regardless beeing easy or not to get the item as most said, the slight possibility of pvp prevents me to even entering the map if there are safe zones. I even created my own guild just to stop beeing invited to guilds that do that type of content.And to the guy that said I don't want to put effort, well I can proudly say I reached "Dawn" with 100% gathered materials and events without recurring to trade post. Is not an effort thing is sort of way of life, or like asking a skeptic to believe in god or a religious person to deny it, don't get things wrong, I don't want you to change your gameplay / style / daily routine, I just want to have some sort of equality on my own "efforts" without relying on types of game I don't like.
  9. So... All you about to read here is from a PvP hater perspective. All comments, suggestions and requests are not intended to offend or diminish in any aspect this type of game. I recently completed one whole year in 2 of my toons. Played learned a lot and yes, enjoying the game much more than I expected. I came from 2 different MMOs that had some sort of forced pvp wich I hated, not a single chance to avoid confrontation, to stay on your own corner minding your own business. Then I've found GW2, that was perfect, lots of content, story telling in every single corner, with pvp but, in it's sepparated area for those who enjoy the type of game, no open world bullies.Also recently I have reached some level of my very first legendary weapon, that would be "Sunrise". I was able to get to "Dawn" just to realise that I would never be able to complete the sword, because devs decided to put one of the final material in some sort of PvP game that is WvW. After reading, researching everything that is avaiable on the matter and the only way tho get the "Gift Of Battle", is through WvW reward track. So I did the math, if I want to get one full set weapon + secondary weapon + 6 pieces of gear = countless hours of boredoooommm on a type of game I really can't stress this out, I don't want have nothing to do. That's the one and only reason that I bought HoT and PoF, to have a game that I don't have to deal with pvp. On the character sellection screen where it says WvW invader 1, I wish it was 0. Anyway...Heading to the point of interest, me and other players that don't like / care for any sort of pvp / competition game would really appreciate if it was possible for us to have our legendary gear without setting foot on pvp maps. I have few suggestions for that:-make the item sellable from / to players-make the item craftable-we all fight huge bosses, make the item dropable, since is also a battle-make the item an npc item so it can be bought without any pvp currency, doesn't matter as long is a pve currency.
