  1. Great idea moving the beta starting location to Kessex from LA, but even better would be a level 80 map like Orr. The mobs are closer in difficulty to the xpac and LW maps where players will be most of the time. Plus there's more focus on combat in those maps, and most of these beta's are looking into that side of the game.
  2. @Josh Davis.7865I think this missing the overview/exec summary concept behind some of these changes. I know you've said that is also coming, but as an immediate first impression feedback I think these kinda notes should always reference/remind us of those goals. My understanding of the notes and the patches is you have a couple of larger goals. You do not want one class/profession to be able to provide max stacks or uptime of any buff, you want the 5-man to get there or close to there. I think a statement of what you'd want the ideal profile to look like would be good; do you want a max stack/max uptime party to even be possible? You're simplifying the variations in buffs to be a core set, both the banners and spirits added more tiny icons that a newer player might not understand, making them provide a consistent 'orange shield icon' makes more sense. I think this does need to go further, the 'self' buffs/effects should all be that white on light blue. I think we can give up that bit of design flair in the icons for a clearer set, red = bad, blue = just you, orange = others. Not sure if there's a technical impact to the simplification too, I remember it being mentioned before that the mechanics of tracking all this was an issue a while back. Hopefully that does match your intent, otherwise more explanation needed 🙂 Some other feedback, I know you'll have tons of stats/graphs etc around these things, and I know that for some reason game devs rarely share that kind of insider information, but I do think it would really help. Not to justify as such (there needs to be space for game devs to be game devs!), but at least to backup your explanations/reasonings. Players will always be basing their view on their perceptions, and those will always be limited, raw figures help balance that. One last thing, regarding Ele, it seems like you want its dmg/support potential to be the same as other professions. But ele is by far the hardest class to play, shouldn't that reward players if they do master it? Or would you rather change ele to be easier to play? But being hard to play and just being equal to the others, doesn't seem right, just the fantasy isn't enough.

Since last patch I think, I've started getting massive failures when loading into areas. https://imgur.com/a/tnkkeqD The skybox is just a checkbox cube, lots of geo is invisible, odd bits of weapon bar icons aren't there etc, loading time is also a lot longer than the typical <1m Never seems to happen on first load, but maybe on subsequent alt switches. But switching again doesn't seem to fix. Latest GPU drivers, but am on DX11, so gonna try without that now. Any other ideas?

First time into this story step I couldn't complete the Feed Aurene Fish step as every time I fished it just went to my inventory (which I'm guessing is the normal way), after restarting the mission I caught one fish and it went into the 'carry object' state properly. So did my daily easily:) but probably not what you intended!
  5. When replying to a thread, the forum gives no indication that its successfully posted your reply. It doesn't even change to the last page. Could it not change the last page to show your new post at least? Or some UI to state its posted ok? Or some automagic deletion of dupe posts?
  6. DX12 was a much bigger architectural change than 9, 10 and 11 were, so they would have to do a lot more digging in the guts of GW2 code to get it to fit and work. It's similar as to why 11 and not Vulcan, in fact I'd hazard a guess that DX12 and Vulcan would be almost the same amount of impact to the existing code, with Vulcan just adding even more terminology and conceptual differences to the mix. They'd need to have some massive pluses to justify such an undertaking, and 'largest number', 'raytracing' or 'linux support' aren't those pluses. Also to echo others, it was a really interesting post, that don't often see, so thanks for that Arenanet.

I think the elixirs on harbringer needs more variation, maybe a throwable or something, as right now they're all a bit samey, give a boon, give blight and something, (ignoring its actual gameplay impact which could be fine). Love the quieting effect in harbringer shroud, and assuming the sounds are placeholders as you really need different pistol sounds from the thief. Virtuoso has great effects and skills, and was easy to pick up. Willbender was understandable enough, but tougher to get used to play style (or at least wasn't as easy as the others) Oh and the free rune box forgets about the water breather (just like everyone else!), as you just get 12 of each.
  8. Really need to be able to link the build and equipments so they can switch together, the 'can't use this equipment' message grates very quickly! An option in the settings that says something like "link equipment and build slot switching". i.e. picking build 1, also picks equipment 1. I think for a majority that would be enough.
