In GMT +2 (which covers germany, I think) the stream starts at 1800 hours (or 6pm) on a friday. So, I mean, it's not the worst time in the world if you exclude personal circumstance.

In NA its straight up work school time.

    Indeed.

I will be missing the "live" stream since I am volunteering at my sons school so no chance for me either.

That's nice but when you go to support/purchase support there's nothing about this which is where this should be otherwise 75% of the people going there will not find it.

It should be right in here:

    https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/categories/200110178-Purchase-Support-Payment-Methods-Upgrades-and-Products

Nor is it mentioned under the "problems when purchasing gems" result when searching for "can't buy gems"..

At the moment I am directly connected to the Comcast modem via ethernet and the crashes have stopped in the past 24 hours. Anet says I should play another day to see if a crash can still happen. If it is the router, I will set it to factory default, otherwise gonna buy a new one.

Yeah for peeps in the future if you are on wireless always try a wired ethernet connection as drops like this leading to crashes in gaming happen often enough that it should be the first thing to check out

  4. Had a problem not long ago and was able to fix it by doing this, pasted this from another thread I mention this in. It may solve the issue for some of you, if not you will need to contact support.

Bought the unbreakable tools at 50% off then went to buy them for my better half and bam Unfortunately an error has occurred. Please try again later! so I guessed the game doesn't want married couples using the same payment source or something so she tried using her paypal but bam the same error again.

I did some searching and digging around and found a solution for those with this error that worked for my wife.

You need to go to c\user\"yourusername"\appdata\local\temp and do a search for gw2cache delete this file and voila gem store purchase worked.

The file you want to delete should look like this but may have different numbers after gw2cache.

    gw2cache-{xxx9786F-27D6-xxxx-6C78-E9BAxxxxxxx23}

My wife was able to buy gems via paypal and get the unbreakable tool all without having to wait on support. This should really be something Anet has in tier support section so people can try this before contacting support.

  5. Still no expansion sale... eh really need a good sale to be able to buy the expansions and living world seasons x3. Can wait on the seasons but the expansion simply have too much important stuff locked behind them to play as core or f2p long term. At this rate gw2 will turn into a log in, do dailies, log out game.

Guess will just have to hope the expansion themselves, not the upgrades, will come on sale with the announcement on the 30th...

Actually it is Anet problem. They decided not to comply with Belgian laws and simply decided its easier to remove service from belgian players.

Anet had the option - comply with the law or dont do business in the jurisdiction. They chose the latter since its easier.

If anything rest of us outside of belgium should fight that this becomes legal standard so companies cant just go "lol dont care, we have other markets"

Also, same industries across the world usually have similar regulation or regulation based on same core principles.Arguments about negative effects of legal particularism dont really work any more in 21century.

This is purely a matter of convinence and size of market. If US had the same laws or there were regulations on EU level, gaming companies would comply the very same moment

No this is where it's a poor decision to involve government. Players are already empowered to support this type of business by not buying these items if they don't like the process. Lack of sales will drive changes in how/what can be acquired. We don't need government for this and when you do involve them you run into what the OP is facing. And sorry OP but as stated above you should be writing to your government to get this changed. Again if this was a drug company that is purposely increasing prices on drugs people need to be able to live that's quite different. These are optional cosmetic items that before some players were blocked by laws their government put into place people could acquire from ingame currency. We don't need government for that, sorry.

I am writing my government to say stay out of this, focus on things we need government for like clean air and water topics that affect millions of people. If you are getting to these laws while people are dying because of drug companies they had better start to look for new employment now before the elections.

No, that's an overly simplistic view of things. It's like saying beer, drugs and prostitution should not have any laws to regulate or make it illegal cause people can "police" themselves just fine. History has shown again and again that simply isn't the case.

Please don't try to make it a case of the government trying to be our nannies or taking our freedoms away cause it's not that at all.

You just made my point. I never said anything about not needing regulation on beer, drugs and prostitution, especially since I wouldn't put these in the same category. If anything we need more regulation on drug companies and their practices or alternative government solutions to skyrocketing drug prices that were on the markets for decades before one company bought the rights that another had. Not all things are the same here. Government has a limited amount of time to engage in things. Meaning for each thing that is being done something else is not. So if they are focusing on gaming over other things then to me they are not getting issues addressed that people can not do for themselves that require government. So no I wouldn't want my representatives working on something like this when there are so many other issues not getting done already.

Again a simplistic view. You do not ignore other important issues simply because they are not the most pressing issues you as an elected official have to deal/talk/work on. This is about gambling in games and why should games companies get a free hand so to speak when other casino's and other gambling site have strict rules they must follow.

Obviously there have been more pressing issues which is why we are lagging behind on this digital front on this issues in particular though there are others like paying taxes on online purchases etc etc. That doesn't mean you just ignore this issue or give in to it.

No I think you just think rng gambling boxes should be allowed and we should decide to buy them or not and that there shouldn't be any kind of laws on it, like there is on other gambling sites.

These "lootboxes" should have never been allowed in our games period IMO and please don't cry to me about how the poor poor companies like Anet would go belly up without them as that's a huge fallacy as I have ever heard. lol

At least that's my take on this and it's okay if you don't agree with it. Not something I like to keep going on about as it just becomes circular arguments that go no where productive.

  8. The problem with RNG boxes is that the decent stuff always has a 0.000001% chance to drop. I mean I look at it as an extra chance at loot if you happen to be doing a champ but I will not hold my breath for anything good to come of it and as such look at the event in the same light.

Companies use these RNG to bank on the addictive nature of these RNG boxes which they hope will lead to people buying their gambling aka lootboxes or their keys. It easier to give in to something if it's familiar aye ;)

No this is a gaming industry problem. The fight should be to get all the countries around the world to follow Belgium's example to force game companies to stop promoting gambling in game, and it doesn't matter if they try to conceal the gambling nature of it by calling it "surprise mechanics".

All this could be very simple to avoid if the RNG boxes would just die off already. If they wanna sell rare items then just sell them instead of making people "gamble" for them.

@Rasimir.6239 said:... They removed party leadership for good reasons, since people used it for all kinds of troll behaviour.

I am curious: what troll behaviours there was befone?

    There were also non-troll reasons.

If the leader disconnected for whatever reason the instance would close. If the leader wasn't aware that they were the ones holding the instance open and they got their rewards first and then immediately left, others who had not gotten their rewards lost out on them because they didn't have time to loot.

It's a case of which is the lesser of two evils and I'd take what we have now over what we had.

    This.

Having an instance close near the end because the party leader DCd was awful. The loot issue as well.

That's due to backwards coding..... an instance should stay open until everyone in it is gone. I mean even DDO got that right.

  11. I don't use the LFG very much but this seems like a silly system designed to troll far far more than a traditional system with one party leader that is in control. I mean you put up a LFM it should be yours...others can join or not as they choose, I don't see how anyone can troll that. People can choose or not to join your party according to what you want to run and how you will run it.

If anyone doesn't like the shape or form etc etc pf your party they are free not to join it and make their own. The current system however you have zero control as even if you politely try to make you own group according to your own wishes anyone can come in and just troll the kitten out of it.

In this system looks like you just want to stick to "private" groups and not rely on the LFG tool period.

  12. @"HnRkLnXqZ.1870" said:The vendors are a bit overwhelming and underwhelming at the same point. You do not really know where to start or what would be worth to spend. At the Festival of the Four Winds, you can gain two different pieces of currency.

There are a couple of LS1 items at the vendors, which can be obtained at two different vendors at the moment. You can purchase them for Tokens and 1 Laurel OR for 25 Laurels and 15 gold (each) at a Laurel Merchant. If you compare those two, you quickly realize: If you want any of those items, obtaining them during the Festival of the Four Winds is cheaper. Laurels have a high value in the endgame, so it is good not to waste them early. You cannot really farm them, except for Login-Rewards and Achievement Chests.Laurel: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/LaurelLaurel Merchant: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Laurel_Merchant

    Home Instance Nodes

Gift of Quartz - 400 TokensThis results in a personal Quartz Crystal Formation for your home instance (gathering/mining). There are a couple of places in the game where you can mine Quartz Crystal: Glint's Legacy in the Crystal Oasis (PoF), Drytop (Core Tyria) and of course Labyrinthine Cliffs during Bazaar/Festival of the Four Winds. All these nodes have one thing in common, they only loot regular Quartz Crystal (the blue one). Blue ones can also be purchased from TP. The special part about the Gift of Quartz, it has a chance to loot Charged Quartz Crystal. You can obtain 1 Charged Quartz Crystal per day, per Account if you fuse 25 regular Quartz at a "place of power" (= glowing floating orb, Hero Challenge, touch). To fuse them, you just need to have 25 or more in your inventory. Charged Quartz is used for a couple of annoying crafting-products. Most of them are trade-able and quite expensive, because the Charged Quartz is time-gated. Example: Piece of Skyscale FoodQuartz Crystal Formation: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quartz_Crystal_FormationQuartz Crystal: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quartz_CrystalCharged Quartz Crystal: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Charged_Quartz_CrystalPiece of Skyscale Food: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Piece_of_Skyscale_Food

Gift of Sprockets - 400 TokensThis results in a personal Sprocket Generator Node for your home instance (gathering/mining). Mining the Generator loots Watchwork Sprockets and Blade Shards. Watchwork Sprockets can be sold on TP, but are also ingredient for a couple of interesting recipes, which gain more money. The Blade Shards are a core-ingredient for the Spinal Blades Backpack. This is a special backpack that was introduced during the Escape from Lion's Arch and Battle for Lion's Arch (Living World Season 1), it has 5 tiers, where you constantly upgrade the current version until you end up with an Ascended Backpiece with selectable stats, that can be dyed (once per item).

There also exists a recipe that helps creating Blade Shards with Watchwork Sprockets, to speed the crafting-process up. The skins are nice, as you can see in the links below.Sprocket Generator Node: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sprocket_GeneratorWatchwork Sprockets: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Watchwork_SprocketBlade Shard: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blade_ShardSpinal Blades Backpack: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spinal_BladesEscape from Lion's Arch: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Escape_from_Lion%27s_ArchBattle for Lion's Arch: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Battle_for_Lion%27s_Arch

Krait Obelisk Shard - 400 TokensThis results in a personal Krait Obelisk Shard (hero challenge), which grants every character 1 Hero Point (touch). It counts as one of the above mentioned "places of power," which means you can also fuse 25 Quratz Crystals into 1 Charged Quartz Crystal there. That is all. Of all the three nodes, this one is really just optional. Can be unlocked once you have unlocked everything you really wanted. The access for the place of power is quite convenient though. A lot of players just grab 25 Quartz Crystals before they farm their home-instance and charge the Crystal on the go.Krait Obelisk Shard (hero challenge): https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Krait_Obelisk_Shard_(hero_challenge)Hero Point: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hero_point

    Skins

Fervid Censer - 400 TokensThe Fervid Censer is a yellow rose back-piece (rare) with a Settler's stats. It spawns particles around the flower and is the counter-part of the Desert Rose Skin you can buy on TP. It suits to a lot of different armor- and dye-combinations, especially those where no other backpiece really fits (imho).Fervid Censer: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fervid_CenserSettler's stats: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Attribute_combinations#Three_attributesDesert Rose Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Desert_Rose_Skin

Fused Gauntlet Ticket - 1,600 Tokens & 1 LaurelThis is a 3in1 unlock, that means you unlock the Fused Gauntlet Skin on all three weights (heavy, medium & light). The tooltip appears to be a little strange, but it is pretty much exactly what you get. Upon using the Fused Gauntlet Ticket, you spawn a Vigil Requisitioner, who will exchange your Fused Gauntlet Ticket for any of the three weights, exotic item (Sentinel's stats). In addition the purchase unlocks the skins for the two remaining weights.Fused Gauntlet Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/a/aa/Medium_Fused_Gauntlets.jpg/220px-Medium_Fused_Gauntlets.jpgFused Gauntlet Ticket: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fused_Gauntlet_TicketVigil Requisitioner: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vigil_RequisitionerSentinel's stats: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Attribute_combinations#Three_attributes

Gas Mask Skin - 1,600 Tokens & 1 LaurelOnce again a 3in1 unlock, depending on how you dye the Gas Mask Skin, it can look rather scary or scientific. Sadly there is no skin for an Aqua Breather.Gas Mask Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gas_Mask_Skin

Mask of the Night Skin - 400 TokensAlthough this is also a 3in1 unlock, the Maks of the Night Skin is rather cheap. It does not look very spectacular. Still, it fits to almost every Mesmer and a couple of other magic designs.Mask of the Night Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mask_of_the_Night_Skin

Twisted Watchwork Shoulder Scrap - 10 = 64 Tokens (1,600 Tokens in total)Long story short, you need 250 Twisted Watchwork Shoulder Scraps to unlock the Twisted Watchwork Shoulder Skin. The Scraps and the Fused Gauntlet Ticket are the result of what happens if you turn a meta-achievement/collection reward into a purchasable item. The old Living World was a bit weird in general. Sadly it is only one shoulder-piece and there is not much variety throughout the races and genders. Look at the link, if you don't like the skin, skip it till "later."Twisted Watchwork Shoulder Scrap: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Twisted_Watchwork_Shoulder_ScrapTwisted Watchwork Shoulder Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Twisted_Watchwork_Shoulders

Horns of the Dragon Helm Set - 400 TokensThe Horns of the Dragon Helm Set was introduced during the first Dragon Bash we had in GW2. It is another 3in1 unlock, for the Horns of the Dragon skin. You have seen it in the Loading Screen of the recent Dragon Bash in Hoelbrak, worn by a choya. Although it looks quite impressive, it only has 1 dye-channel.Horns of the Dragon Helm Set: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Horns_of_the_Dragon_Helm_SetHorns of the Dragon skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Horns_of_the_DragonLoading Screen: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/3/30/Dragon_Bash_loading.jpg/800px-Dragon_Bash_loading.jpg

Slickpack - 1,600 Tokens & 1 LaurelThe Slick Pack was introduced in the Twilight Assault, Twilight Arbor Aetherpath release. Since the Engineer profession has lost the backpacks of the kits, this is a good looking alternative for both Flamethrower and Elixir Gun users. It also fits to other classes.Slick Pack: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/SlickpackTwilight Assault: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Twilight_Assaultbackpack: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Elixir_Pack_render.jpg

Sclerite Karka Shell - 1,600 Tokens & 1 LaurelThe Sclerite Karka Shell is a weird backpiece with 8 tentacles coming from The Secret of Southsun. It is an exotic item with Settler's stats again. There are not many looks this piece suits to, at least it is unique.Sclerite Karka Shell: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sclerite_Karka_ShellThe Secret of Southsun: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Secret_of_Southsun

Zephyrite Sun Helm Skin - 800 TokensZephyrite Wind Helm Skin - 800 TokensZephyrite Lightning Helm Skin - 800 TokensThose also count as 3in1 unlocks, so you only have to purchase one of each type (Sun, Wind & Lightning) to unlock the skins for all three weights. The wind skin fits quite well to the radiant armor set from achievement-chests.Zephyrite Sun Helm Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/b/be/Zephyrite_Sun_Helm.jpg/241px-Zephyrite_Sun_Helm.jpgZephyrite Wind Helm Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/e/ef/Zephyrite_Wind_Helm.jpg/256px-Zephyrite_Wind_Helm.jpgZephyrite Lightning Helm Skin: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Zephyrite_Lightning_Helm.jpg

    Novelties

Zephyr Sanctum ModelThis is probably the most entertaining Gizmo in the game. It is a small model of the old Zephyr Sanctum. It can be placed on the ground. People who interact with it can see the cutscene of the Sanctum. The real sanctum does no longer exist in Tyria. Its old location was, where Ellen Kiel's Phoenix Dawn is currently docked at the Labyrinthine Cliffs (south of the Skydock Waypoint).Zephyr Sanctum Model: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Zephyr_Sanctum_Modelcutscene:

The other Novelties and Minis are also interesting. But if you are looking for worthy investments, I would start with those listed above. I explained what they are and how they can be useful. Again, you can also purchase each of them for 25 Laurels + 15 gold. In my opinion, the Festival Tokens are cheaper. It is just a personal recommendation.

I am still busy with unlocking those. Once I am done with them, I'll go for the other vendors and skins. Since the Festival Tokens are a currency now, you are also not forced to spend them right now. Especially the Sovereign Weapons and Divine Sovereign Weapons cost a lot of gold in addition to the Favors of the Festival. I simply store the Favors in my bank and purchase the weapon-skins when I have enough gold.Sovereign Weapons: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sovereign_weapon_skinsDivine Sovereign Weapons: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Divine_Sovereign_weapons

As our forum still breaks links, I used another format. Every blue object is listed below the paragraph with the suitable link. Just copy/paste it into your URL bar. Sorry for the inconvenience. @ forum-team: This-Is-Tedious-And-Takes-Ages!

You forgot one home node but is only available at festival vendor in hooligans area in Lions Arch.

  15. I was able to use my palpal to buyb gems to get the unbreakable tools which is scurrently at 50% off and before that the copper salvage o matic. My wife tried to buy gems using my paypal but received this error message, btw they make that flash by way way too quick on the screen.

We assume it because this game doesn't want two people thus two different accounts using the same payment method? I mean she my wife and we use the same paypal but she does have her own which is used less often and mostly for odd cases like this so i sent her the money required from my paypal to hers. Once she had it in her paypal she tried to purchase gems again but still getting the same darn error.

I can get them blocking it the first time for "security" reasons but you should be able to switch payment methods without your account getting locked down like this.

The stupid thing about this whole thing is I can buy gems on my account but I can't buy the unbreakable tools for her and gift them to her as I can't get them twice at the 50% off sale price....lol

I suppose there is no safe online stores you can buy gem cards (and receive the code via email) from either?

Also remember that not everyone was playing when these bundles were out previously. So if people like the bundles and don't have too much of the contents (such as permanent gathering tools) then these are sweet deals for them. Deals for those of us who have these things already are yet to come, I'm sure. It might not be until the very end though.

The problem with the PoF bundle is those of us that don't have the tools likely don't have the expansions yet and are waiting on a decent sale for them which mean we can't buy the PoF prep pack. Anet decided f2p player's were not allowed to and also decided that people that bought core accounts are f2p....at least when it comes to this pack. It's more than odd considering I can buy those items individually .....
