how many threads are you going to start with basically the same topic regarding an incomplete product of which you only have seen glimpses yet? Go play your proposed game of 1999 then if you are that unhappy. Nope, I am not a fanboy, actually, I have given up on the game over a year ago, I just dislike m... certain types of people.

I've never paid a penny for a living world episode ever. I get them for free by logging into the game when they're active. There isn't a more generous MMORPG out there, period. Sure it seems bad when you're looking at it from the details but when you look at the big picture it's actually pretty generous.the big picture is irrelavant to a single customer though.

Also, no, you rarely see a "focus" in modern warfare. Might have something to do with mages really being a rarity on today´s battlefields.

This is just so wonderful. You have to actually compromise your time and log into the game to work on it if you ever want it unlocked. You can't just log in, have fun in the game doing events and get it unlocked. You have to go from location to location to unlock collecting stuff to unlock something useful to explore the maps and play events well. When I try to follow comanders using my griffon and they all using their skyscale I stay far behind, I can't keep up with them. So I end up not having fun.
When it is just a few things that you can take a day or 2 and do them, it is great. But you have to put a lot of time and effort into it. It stopped being fun for me who doesn't have that much free time to spare anymore. I want to log in, have fun and eventually get my rewards, mounts, unlocked, by having fun. I can't log into gw2 to have a second job trying to unlock skyscale. I only wanna relax and maybe, make new friends. My opinion, no one has to agree.
It is really pointless to explain this to us, remember, none of us has a job or a life outside of this game.

because while most people would agree it is a stupid business model (and working in a related field, I still have to see some reliable proof of this model performing better than e.g. offering digital items the whole year around and stimulating interest with an actual limited sale of those), you making this about a grande crusade regarding morals and business ethics and "woe is me" is rather off-putting. But one has to be lenient here, I think the general life situation you describe is straining for all of us mentally. So in essence, yes, the business practice is BS, but hardly justifies moral outrage. Or maybe it does, still, you cannot expect everyone to share your particular values.

yeah, but I am not the one argueing from that perspective. Magic did not work that well on historical battlefields either, if that is of any concern here...
