  1. Came here to say exactly this! Bladecaller for example is a much cooler name that not only reflects the actual concept and gameplay of the spec but also stays in keeping with 'bladesongs' and the other musical naming conventions (this is not a bard at all!) On the topic of gameplay feedback: I completely agree with the comments about rewarding close range on Mental Focus being very weird. Why does that trait exist when you've given us 1200 range on dagger AND bladesongs AND psionics and a push to keep enemies away? I feel the same way about dagger skill 2 as well. Feels like we should be rewarded for staying at range on a ranged spec that has a little less mobility than other mesmer specs. Bladesongs 1-3 being exactly the same as base shatters feels like a huge missed opportunity. What about a dash/blink that increases in distance with blades? What about blades that hit allies and give them a unique buff of some kind? What about something unique and tradeoff-y like bouncing daggers between allies (soft ccing) and enemies (hard ccing)? Bladesongs having a cast time feels clunky and bad to use - especially considering they've already been given a downside by being projectiles that can miss moving targets and get reflected / blocked by a whole list of things in this game. Psionic skills, on the other hand, feel very fun to use. The animation of Sword of Decimation should be differentiated from Rain of Blades. I think removing the circle glyph thing from Decimation and increasing the visual size of the big sword crashing down would do this and also make it feel like more of a big impact. The elite skill is super slow and hard to hit a lot of the time, even in pve. Increasing the width or the speed of the skill would help a lot. I see no reason the new sword 3 shouldn't just blink you to the target and immobilize on return, keeping in line with the existing skill but removing the clone part (I think this skill would be better working like this in general, blinking first and swapping later) Mirage is already trying and succeeding at being a condition damage spec for mesmer. Why is Virtuoso trying to compete and conflict with that? The bottom trait line should be more mobility or survival or utility focused, instead of trying to do something Mirage already does well. Also now that we have multiple choices and clear condi and power dps specs #buffchronosupport2021 and stop trying to make all the specs do everything (they are called specializations for a reason). I would like to say though, for the record, Virtuoso is my favourite spec of the three we've been shown so far!
  2. I've been saying it basically since HoT and Revenant launched but the class needs a bit of an overhaul tbh, on the level of the mesmer phantasm changes a while back. IMO the core class needs one more legend (to have the same amount of utility skills available as every other class, still excluding racial skills) and another weapon that provides another ranged option and adds some more variable options. My suggestion would be something like a mid-range mainhand dagger. This makes the most sense to me as Revenants tend to use weapons in weird and unique ways (ranged dagger skills = cool as hell) and also these forum pages feature official art that literally shows a Revenant holding a dagger. PS weapon skills shouldn't cost energy
  3. While I understand your thought process here, and it's 100% a fair call, I don't think the new specs have to be related to Cantha just because it's the new area being introduced. Some kind of more subtle shadow magic for these kind of lore reasons would be cool to see though!
  4. I personally really like the idea of an E-spec for necro that's more minion-focused in a different and more interesting way than something like the current necro pets. None of the current specs fill that space and I could definitely see something like a Warlock or Demonologist that summons temporary demons. Maybe summon skills replace shroud but give you different meat shields instead, and the utilities being command skills could add fun and interesting ways to have more control over them, not to mention traits. Add in existing minion master stuff and BAM you have a third new take on necro. MH mace or sword as a new weapon could probably fit that vibe easily. Regardless i'm very excited by all the talk about what's to come and i'm pumped to see what we end up with.
  5. Yeah there really is just very little reason to play chrono atm other than for subjective enjoyment, which is so sad to say. Tbh I would've been ok with the loss of distortion shatter for chrono shatter if the others had remained the same, including the ability to self shatter which used to be a trait way back and was made baseline for a reason.
  6. This is pretty much what I was thinking! I know most people do/would see it as more of a mesmer thing, but turning the thief into a rogueish bard by giving them OH focus and shouts would be SO cool.
