  1. Hello, My name is Henry. I started playing back in early 2012. I only get on now for fractal daily due to lack of players in WvW and No Balance PvP. For a long time, I wondered when dungeon and fractals would be updated to offer new stats. DUNGEON In my opinion an excellent place for new players to learn the ropes. New players will experience their first challenge and use common sense and a practical build. It was once a great place to make gold and materials for craft until 2015, when Arenanet ruined the game. The players feared the nerf would destroy the dungeon community back in 2015, and it sure happened that way. FRACTAL Fractals are fun. Some challenging more than others, and rewards are a bit of RNG. You can earn a solid 10g on a good day in about 15 minutes of play. This content should come after new players master the dungeons story and explore paths. A collection achieve to access fractal. FLASHPOINTS Play style restrictions set by players will limit your access. There is small room for mistake against bosses with huge health pools. The content should be available after a player has mastered all 100 fractals via collection achievement. RAIDS People won't have access to raids unless they sit on the LFG chat all day and happen to catch a public group willing to make mistakes and learn together because actual pre-made groups will kick you out if you don't know what you are doing. You will rely on discord groups or buying access via gold or materials of equivalent value requested by the groups. World vs World A great place for open land combat, be it solo roam, team, squad, raid, or blob. You must be creative to enjoy this mode or be in a highly active server. I joined many servers with no commanders or enough people to defend bases. It makes it harder to obtain tickets for legendary. Player vs Player A fun mode to play when you have a good squad but completely one-sided 98% of the time. You will experience grief, 20 losses in a row, broken trap builds, spam builds, and overpowered condition builds. The bracket bar is a joke, no real reason to play the mode other than wanting to fight against other players that afk or bot every match. LIST OF ISSUES Dungeons: Outdated Armor - The merchants offer 4 to 12 different stats for the same armor pieces with irrelevant stats. Dungeons aren't rewarding - Loot is 99% junk No incentive to run through dungeon paths 1,2,3 - The cutscenes are fun to watch the first time, but the rest of the time skipped. There is no reason to save the 150 token select box. Not Much Material - The materials gained from the instances are not worth much if they aren't t6 for personal crafting. Not Much Gold - The gold payout for dungeon is low. Completing paths should be a steady five gold each or more. Wait times are too long to find people - Dungeons are dead, and veteran players only join to help new players on occasions when bored. Fractals: Outdated Armor - The same issue as dungeons pointless selections of exotic armor and trinkets when all you need is one of each armor type. Legendary Armor & Legendary Trinket: The 77 clovers is a bit too excessive. Due to dead servers in wvw, raids, and pvp can we discuss how everything should be 15-44 clovers? Legendary armor conversion is decent at 15 clovers. Aurene at 44 is okay, but everything else is 77 clovers is overkill! How about giving the option to buy clovers with money gem conversion. Perhaps a weekly amount. Are clovers the only incentive to log in and play? Are clovers the end game for legendary crafting. Fashion meta was a lie. *We need a method to make fractal and dungeon legendary armor conversion.* SOLUTION: Merchants should only have one of each exotic armor type piece with a one time stat selection. The six armor pieces (head to toe) for light, medium, heavy, and one of each trinket (ring, amulet, accessory). It means there will no longer be 30 variants of stats no one will ever use. It will free up resources; the slots can be for new designs, have the artist work together with the community to promote a healthy amount of ideas and concept designs for cool skins. It will motivate people to get right back into dungeons to get those new cool skins to wear over their exotic, ascended or legendary armor. Yes, people that purchased armor from the merchant with stat selection before an expansion would have to upgrade their armor via mystic forge by grinding new meta events for a specific new expansion token. This way, we commit to the current expansion in order to upgrade armor. To add to the idea, how about requiring crafting to play a part in the stat upgrade selection. Have it where you can craft the components you turn into the new expansion merchant for a mystic forge token combined with armor, ectoplasm, and mystic coins. See, this way crafting skill now has some use. As far as the player base goes, the steam players raised the population slightly and will play each content available. What about once they awakene to what Guild Wars 2 really is? Only time will tell. I'm still waiting on GW2 to be available on the Nintendo Switch, and mobile cell phones with controller support. I'd say there are roughly 7,000 players on a good day still actively playing Guild Wars 2 before and after the steam peak.
  2. I don't know where to start. I started playing GW2 around beta time and stuck around off and on since then. I've seen the rise and the downfall of the game; from the time it was nearly shut down to the studio falling apart due to layoff to people signing papers behind closed doors to say nothing. BIRTHDAYS: Poor rewards. A back item no one cares for and dye no one needs, karma and experience that is wasted. The rewards should've been bound precursor, a legendary choice of armor piece or weapon or trinket. Don't say but that will take away from playing the game or revenue because are you telling me that's the only reason to play? To make cosmetic gear that offers no real value and spend money on gems to convert to gold at a loss of 50 to 100 gold of tax? Don't tell me "What other game does birthdays" because if you can't give anything good don't give anything all. THIS GAME SUFFERS from balance issues in competitive modes, and more than half of the playing community will agree in saying that Arenanet and NCsoft members clearly don't play their own game. I'm trying to figure out if overpowered elite specialization is the tactic at work, so people willingly spend money for the new expansion. The game died what back in 2013? mega servers? no more tournament? Maintenance Mode? WvW: is beyond fixing. That mode is so poorly managed. I used to see Staff members play wvw all day now they stick to pve. This mode has had players crying for help since game release. ORB was removed. Forced to play for legendary. PvE: full of outdated gear, cosmetics, and low amounts of gold to be made. Raids: Full of people that remove you from groups, paid services, illegal monetization, and money laundering pvp: Full of AFK, bots, and broken builds. Crafting skins was removed and vendors. Forced to play for legendary gear. Fractals: dead and pointless unless you want clovers x10 every Monday. outdated gear Dungeon: Dead, no one plays the content after Arenanet ruined the mode and lowered the gold reward and difficulty and hasn't updated the gear stats. Core GW2: Nothing much to do especially after 10 years. I mean i felt this way after my two world completes. Heart of thorn: a great place to learn how to play your class path of fire: dead, no reason to play other than to explore or help out someone new. End of Dragons: content and events that no one plays unless it's your first time or you are working on the aurene legendries. Truth be told. There is no reason to play the game after 1st world completion for core and expansions. If you reach 80 you finished the game. It goes as following: 1. Reach 80 - can be done before you even hit the second or third zone. 2. Wear Exotic armor and trinkets - you want to max stats? wear ascended. You can craft it but it is a common drop. 3. Game Over You want to min max stats? 4. full ascended armor - buy or craft foods. now what? back to square one. Nothing to do. You take a break and come back to see the new changes only to find out it's the same state game. You literally don't need legendary, dungeon, fractal, wvw, pvp, raid, or to even explore. Heck you can reach 80 and never finish story. It's almost like playing just for fun because that's about it and that new feeling only last about an hour if you are a veteran and a week if you are new to the game. You can probably watch the full story on YouTube and never buy or play the game. PVP: WARRIOR - Bladesworn The blade sword can outmaneuver any class, shrugging off all damage while applying a serious amount of damage. Balde sword - charge up ability BLADE TRIGGER combined with things that make you immune to all sources of damage leads to an unstoppable one-shot ability that penetrates your block, shield, evades, and defenses. In the hands of an experienced players, it gets even more Over-Powered because the person can use it to apply serious damage to you while moving around the map like a thief spamming evades. Unsheathe Saber - provides pressure from skills you can spam Sheathe Saber - Swaps back to your primary where you can spam another 6 skills all while reducing charge on swaps from sources and swap. 18 skills to spam in case you failed to one-shot your foe not including utilities. REVENANT - Vindicator The revenant does a serious amount of damage practically a berserker bunker easily able to 1 v 3. Why? because greatsword provides some serious trouble when combined with a staff which already has a cleans and crowd control. 10 utilities to potential swap to that provide an insane amount of evades, cleanse, and all while hitting like a freight train ENGINEER - Mechanist The Rifle spamming griefer or the infinite hammer stun spammer? The rifle provides a knockback (overcharged shot) and a (jump shot) ability that lets you down a person potentially in one hit. Thats not the issue... the culprits are people abusing Rifle + Quickness enabling players to auto spam attack. The engineer has great utilities, gap closers and emergency get out of trouble abilities so for someone to be able to nuke you while you are stun/dazed on the ground unable to escape is a bad experience. GUARDIAN Condition 3 second burner or sword spam bully trapper? The guardian which people know for Anet's favorite child offers a playstyle of all kinds, but the severely abused is longbow/sword guardian. The instant crit gap closer with crowd control traps will leave you useless as you die quickly. RANGER - Trapper troll soulbeast or Trapper / Hammer infinite knockdown and 1 hour long entangle duration? The ranger can use a shortbow to stun and apply an insane amount of pressure with bow. If you need to escape traps will give INSANE! conditions and knock down your opponent, swap to hammer for more control rinse repeat. I won't get into conditions too much because we all know this game has poor condition control. NO balance but I won't talk about that right now. ELEMENTALIST- Bunker or Auora Cleanse Abuser? The Ele is the most bunker class in the game. While being such a force it still applies damage stacks. The new elite catalyst takes this to a whole new level. Insane pressure on the field, spam, evades and cleanse on command as a bunker. Before someone says " but bunker was removed you can't make it like that" please play the game before you speak. There should be no healers in pvp or heal stat. --- "Arenanet" addressed the nerf trapper stealth rune for obvious reasons. Gave thief a reveal cooldown which decimated the entire profession. Removed many runes and sigils after what? about 5 years of players quitting and crying online for a fix. So where is the fix now for the issues we have? Do you also want steam players to quit because the game is in a rubbish maintenance mode state purely focused on gem store. The second and third gen professions are still broken to this day and see no fix any time soon.
  3. I'm glad I haven't played competitively since, like 2014. It's all the crying that ruined the game and why many veterans left. I can understand if someone doesn't build correctly for every encounter, but don't blame a class for lack of skill. I am in no way exceptional at the PVP anymore, but if there needs to be a nerf, it is for condition necro and revenant. Unless you've played since 2012 you won't know what a true OP Thief is, Perma trapper stealth was the only great thing thiefs had back then, followed by teleport stack heart seek, and backstab nuke thief. Thief needs to be left alone the class is practically useless at this point
  4. I would rather have greatsword for professions that can't wield it, such as Revenant, Thief, Engineer, and Elementalist.
  5. I am all for changes that can or will bring positive vibes to the game, but history has shown that Guild Wars 2 has undergone many undesired phases in search of its image. From lore search for traits, costly resets, dungeon nerfs, and unwanted ability changes to professions. Only us 7th birthday characters will know what the game has gone through. I could see the game going for tactical decision-based combat, and that might work in PVP. Let's be honest though, frames per second and ping play a significant role in who is victorious. Timing is an issue in large scale battles, and the increase to cooldowns and weakened damage won't fix that. Arenanet, are you trying to make the game solely auto-attack focused like a few years ago? Because I can assure you, you would only be decreasing the current population of players. Sure, there is a skill gap in competitiveness, but most of it is who has the better key-bind and ping. Either you guys are preparing to unveil new specializations or appeal to non-skilled players, but what happened to make World vs. World better again? I hope you guys aren't trying to make the game so reliant on groups and that soloing content isn't a thing anymore. Please, for the love of the community, don't do that look around you; there aren't enough people to group up with for content, let alone old content, especially when it's unrewarding. It'll be the biggest mistake on your end, and history shows you love to make mistakes, but please don't ruin PvE.
