  1. What some people here are obviously not able or willing to understand is that of course there are non-minion builds you can use, and pretty durable ones at that. But that's not the point. The point is that by practically disabling the entire minion build branch they took away a lot of fun and class specific flavour from the necro. Being able to re-summon them on full cooldown after each dismount, especially since pretty much every map since the release of PoF forces you to use mounts (and yes, I also did my first pre-PoF world completion by foot and glider), is a cynical joke I honestly wouldn't have expected from Anet even despite their lack of b2c communication skills. What would "satisfy the folks around here" is Anet being more transparent as to why they deactivated it (not getting into the technical details too deeply of course, but also not giving us some nebulous "it was causing problems") and giving us a realistic estimate on when the minion builds will be playable again, because right now they're not. Period. Necro players have been dealing with disappearing minions since the PoF release until 2020, then came a short time of minion builds being viable again, and now minions are broken - again. But it's the same as always: other people's problems are dismissed as "whining" or ridiculed (at least by some here) as long as the own favourite class isn't affected.
  2. What Anet seem to forget is that specifically the minion builds are not a single build but a whole bunch of build variations that get omitted just like that. And all of these builds are beginner friendly if you take Death Magic as a traitline. And all of that takes away from the Necro flair. And I still am seriously upset about their tweet saying that we can resummon the minions. Either they don't know that this is hardly a viable option for actual gameplay because of the cooldowns and the lengthy summon animations - which means they are simplay incompetent. OR, and that would be even worse, they know exactly about the above mentioned problems with re-summoning the minions every time, then this answer is teeming with ignorance, arrogance and also very revealing concerning Anets thoughts on us as customers. @Vionetta.6039 You can switch to the elite "Chilled to the bone". Chill is a soft CC. I use this build: [&DQgCLTUrIjnBEsESphKmEg8TDxNvAW8BAxMDEwAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=] for overall gameplay as Reaper. Gives plenty of carapace which gives protection and does damage, has a nice chill synergy as well, and the "Rise" shout gives minions "on demand". If you play as a reaper, that is.
  3. According to Anet they disabled the automatic resummon of minions after dismount "due to an issue", telling us that we can resummon them manually. Absolutely intolerable, arrogant and a good example of how not to talk to customers. I'm 49 by now, and I've never received such kind of downtalking from companies I am a customer of. Even the German Telekom treats its customers with more respect. Is that your new way of communication? Back to topic: Full cooldown after dismount, and they are so "generous" as to let us resummon them. Once again, they demonstrate that they don't know a lot about their own game and that a minion necro build is unplayable with this bug. Mounts have become a necessity on most maps, especially the newer ones. Resummoning them every time - after the cooldown of course - is not applicable. Anet, I'm growing sick of being treated like that as someone who pays your bills. The bug was introduced with the mounts, which was with the Path Of Fire release in September 2017. Somewhere in 2020 you fixed that bug finally, it worked for a few months, and now you're re-introducing it on purpose. After the performance issues that you also let sit for months last year (until larger parts of the media got wind of it), the necro bug that you didn't give a toss about (and obviously still don't), and the Ice Brood Saga with its "expansion worthy content" my patience as YOUR customer gets exhausted. With that puposeful re-introduction of that bug you factually destroyed a whole branch possible necro builds. Undo that. If you let that sit again, I will not buy your new addon. But hey, that's just one customer less, isn't it?
  4. The minion bug for the necro is back. When quickly mounting and pounce dismounting, they disappear with full cooldown. After release of PoF the bug appeared, and in 2020 you felt inclined to fix it, which was in and of itself an audacity to let it sit for that long. I seriously hope that you revert whatever changes you made recently to the necro to once and for all get rid of this pesky glitch. After that long time living with that bug that just like that destroys all minion builds by making them unplayable, I lack any understanding for the reappearance of this.
  5. I'm referring to Anets official (1st official, might I add) statement concerning the lags. Find it here:https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/111982/an-update-on-game-performance-issues "We're aware that some players have been impacted by ongoing gameplay performance issues due to latency. We know this makes for a frustrating gameplay experience, and we want to let you know what we're doing to find and mitigate those problems."So you are aware of that and have been silent for months? You know that makes for a frustrating game experience and didn't find it necessary to give us a heads up until now? You tell me how this kind of behaviour is supposed to build trust in you and how you view you customers. "The reality is there's no single sweeping change that can fix latency issues for all players, or even most players."The reality is that the customer wants a product that at least provides minimum functionality. On some maps this isn't the case since months. The exact causes are something that probably will never get revealed by you guys. I may be totally wrong here, but given the fact that these performance issues mostly occur on maps that are (severely) underpopulated it could be that there are also economical reasons for the whole performance problem. But that's a totally uneducated guess on my side - of course. "...members of our Engineering, Infrastructure, Design, QA, and Production teams are working with a group of affected players to help identify underlying causes and find solutions."Since when? If you're already working on this issue for a longer time, then why the heck didn't you let us know? The existence of problems is nothing bad, being silent about them however is. Whoever is responsible for your communication rules with the community actively hurts the customer relationship. "We’ll keep you updated on their progress as we’re able."What could make you unable to keep us updated?
  6. Each morning I farm the three flax seed farm spots Jaka Itzel, Tangled Depths and Draconis Mons with 22 characters. In the morning hours before 7 am performance is usually good on HoT maps, but I can regularly feel the lags significantly increase at around 9 am CET (I'm in Germany). Especially on the Tangled Depths the lag today was hilarious.
  7. It's not lags... it's surprise mechanics. It's just that the surprise is gone, dear people from Anet. If - and that's an assumption on my side - you need the performance for WvW map cap testing and other performance tests, just say so. If it would be too expensive to rent more server capacity from AWS, just say so. I'm quite sure people will understand that WvW needs some attention finally. If only they knew. And people want to know if that whole thing is temporary or permanent. Is that why you keep radio silence about this? That your new policy is cutting less played maps so short on performance that they are unplayable? Are you not afraid that you are literally ruining your reputation by saying nothing?
  8. I'd like an item in the Gem Store that actually lets you change the class of your character without losing the hero points. A kind of "Respec Potion".
  9. Yup, with the latest patch you cannot even manually summon your pet if you do a pounce dismount (skill 1 on mount) on enemies and are in combat mode. So the latest patch does not only disable pet swapping, merging and unmerging in combat, but also makes the pounce dismount unuseable. Things like that happen when a company does not care about bugs that are in the game since the introduction of mounts which was in September 2017. Chapeau! Apart from that this is also a good example why competitive game mode balancing should be strictly separated from PvE/Open World balancing. As far as I am informed, a huge part of the latest patch is done by a former PvP hardcore player. So the person in question probably didn't even know about the mount pounce / dismount bug that despawns minions and pets. So the situation rangers find themselves in now is entirely Anets fault, not the guy who did the balance patch. And it was so foreseeable. That is bugging me the most. And I don't even play ranger as main.
  10. Dear people from Anet, in my humble opinion now is the time to do something about the above mentioned bug concerning the obvious server sync problems when it comes to the mounts in combination with minions and pets. With your latest balance patch the following situation will now occur for many players (as I just experienced it with a soulbeast character): you enter a map, summon your petyou get on your mount and pounce dismount on an enemy or a group of enemies (pouncing is not even necessary, normal dismount also shows this bug)the pet doesn't appearnow, with the latest balance patch, you cannot resummon the pet because your character is in combat modeI see what you tried to achieve by omitting the in combat pet swap and merge/unmerge, at least for competitive modes. And don't want to get more elaborate on the balance patch. But with the patch now being there, it is finally time to address the server issues affecting the mounts in combination with pets and minions that lead to the problems described in this thread. See also my posts above. I see that bugs occur, I really do. It's just how it is. But that problem is going on since PoF release and has a massive negative impact on combat gameplay. And you're literally letting it sit since September 2017. With all politeness I can muster I suggest you finally take care of it. Regards,an annoyed player
  11. EDIT: Forgot another problem: The action cam. Often times when you have an enemy perfectly targeted (i.e. the enemy and his health/break bar appear in the upper middle part of the screen just to be clear) and you perform attacks like Reaper Shroud weapon skill 2 or Ranger (no matter which specialization or just core) dagger 3 orScrapper hammer 3 orRenegade double sword skill 3the attack fails. The reaper bursts right through the enemy or misses completely (though as I said the enemy was properly targeted) or, in case of the renegade, the attack doesn't trigger at all. Dagger 3 for the soul beast has a tendency to completely miss like the Reaper Shroud 2. In short: The action cam does seem to have a huge problem with proper enemy targeting. Normally this cam is designed in a way that you need to face an enemy to target it, but when that doesn't work, a right mouse click can target the enemy manually, but even then the attacks that make the character jump at an enemy in any way often fail.I know that the action cam was a pet project from one of your (former?) devs and he or she made it off the clock, but since I'm not the only one using it, I thought I'd bring this to your attention as well.
  12. Dear people from ArenaNet, there are various (probably server-performance related) issues that I urgently need to bring to your attention, so I'll get straight to the heart of the matter: 1.: Soul Beast: When you perform a mounted pounce attack on an enemy and you had your pet activated before but are not merged with it, sometimes the pet doesn't appear after the mount pounced and you must re-summon it. Very annoying when you are in combat and are not planning on merging with the pet at that stage.2.: Any "minion-intense" necro build, any specialization or just core build: When you mount/dismount your mount (no matter which one) in quick succession, your minions despawn with full cooldown. Problem seems to worsen (i.e. the time you need to wait until you can mount again increases) the more minions you have activated. Server sync issues? Please fix that, it makes minion builds unplayable if you're not playing at snail speed anyway. My internet connection's fine, so is my onboard NIC.3.: Sometimes, especially with the scrapper, the player character gets stuck in combat state after having killed an enemy (no matter which one), though you have no aggro on you from another enemy, no condis are on the character, weapon is sheathed. Sometimes this lasts for minutes if you just wait for it to end. A workaround obviously is to kill a random mob, that refreshes the combat state that then may wear out normally. Or logging out to character selection screen and back in, though both workarounds cannot be a solution to the problem imho. I must admit that I'm baffled that I haven't read about these issues anywhere or seen content creators on Twitch or Youtube talk about that. Also there's sporadic disconnect alert windows popping up without the client actually disconnecting from the server. Means I can close the alert window and all is fine (makes combat even more dynamic... just joking). On the other hand, sometimes there are lags that last for more than 2 seconds (can't activate any skills) that would suggest that the game client disconnected, but after the lag is gone all is fine again and there's no DC windows message popup at all. All of the above seems to worsen over time. I've been watching this since the PoF release, and it's getting worse. Please, please, please do something about it. It makes combat - the part of the game that you want to be dynamic and fluent - less and less fun. Greetings from Germany,Lars
  13. I've upgraded my BIOS and chipset drivers to the latest versions. Was just a wild stab in the dark, but it seemed to have helped. My former BIOS was just 3 months old. The chipset drivers were slightly older. How can that be? Not one piece of software giving me troubnle, neither did the hardware, but just that one game crashed? One community member mentioned a Microsoft update (kb4346084) being responsible in his case for the ctds: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/81246/guild-wars-2-close-itself-randomly-in-2-15-minutes-after-win10-update-kb4346084 This microcode update addresses the Sceptre exploit for mainly Intel CPUs, but Microsoft installs it anyway even if you are on an AMD rig. In the following weeks multiple follow-up updates from MS addressing the same exploit followed - perhaps those contributed to the exacerbation of the game crash issue? Anyway, reading about these MS updates made me look for a new BIOS / new chipset drivers. Which seemed to fix the issue. I'll keep you updated in case you're interested. Perhaps those of you guys who are on a Ryzen sytem should try that as well.
  14. Same here. Now that you mention it, the whole problem started on my side after the latest M$ update as well. Seems to be something bigger going on. Heard complaints about that all over various maps in the chat. My guild mates are also struggling with the CTDs.In case of interest: Therehttps://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/79280/game-keeps-crashing#latestis another thread about that very problem.
  15. Same here. Short freeze, crash to desktop. Completely random. No crash log update. RAM is ok according to memtest. NVidia Graphics driver is updated to the latest version. Game files are repaired. I deleted the game cache, checked temperatures of GPU, CPU core and case - everything ok. No new software installed. Not using any addons (like arcdps) anymore. No problems with ANY other software or game. Just GW 2 crashing. Same happens with some guild mates of mine, complaints about this very issue are in various map chats. Happens across all maps. Anet: Fix this please. We all put up with the - friendly speaking - poor performance of this otherwise good game, but this crash fest reminds me of early Skyrim days.OS: Win10 x64Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, not oc'edRAM: Corsair DDR 4 2 x 8GB, not oc'edGW 2 is running from a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB Please, Anet: COMMUNICATE WITH US!
