  1. GW2 is a "Medieval Fantasy Only" MMO? hah I didn't see people rage-quitting or trying to cancel Engineers at launch (2012!). xD It's more like a fantasy/steampunk mix. It's also ANET's game designers' prerogative to do whatever they want with THEIR OWN game. 😉
  2. A mount is the MAIN selling point of an expansion? lol You don't like the Turtle, you don't do the achievement, easy! Did you expect a single-user turtle mount that runs faster than a raptor, flies higher than a skyscle and one-shots Champions with its' cannons? xD
  3. I checked with a pre-Halloween video of interacting with the Protocols, before it was LESS than 1 second, NOW it's more like 2-3 seconds PER interaction. Very frustrating and Anti-QoL. 😕
  4. Yeah me too! Maybe they could make the Bot Protocols freeze (timer) and be disabled (greyed out?) inside instances.
  5. Hello, I noticed that after this Halloween patch, the interaction time (animation) with the Jade Tech Defensive/Offensive Protocol items in EoD maps has been severely slowed down. Now it's painfully BORING to reach max timer on both Overcharge "boosts", and since they get wiped out every time you enter a non-open map (any instanced map: home instance, story instance, etc), it's even WORSE. Please REVERT the animation/interaction time to pre-Halloween speed, and maybe make the Overcharge icons and timers FREEZE while staying inside an instance, instead of wiping them out completely.
  6. But those who want to do that specific daily might end up finding themselves in a "buggy" situation anyway. Isn't it better to just make generic dailies and then let devs fix the bugs on their own priority list?
  7. Hello, today I got the PvE daily to complete the Straits of Devastation mini-dung, and of course it was buggy as hell due to the high traffic of players involved. I think mini-dungeons weren't supposed to take that much of traffic anyway. Simple Solution: REPLACE all the specific daily (even weekly) tasks with GENERIC ones: 1) minidungeons -> "Complete a mini-dungeon" any mini-dungeon, anywhere in any map! 2) Activities -> it's time to expand the term "activity" to any trial or mini-adventure in any map (races, etc). So the daily would be "complete an activity" ANYWHERE players like, not only the legacy Lion's Arch ones that are bugged! My two cents.
  8. Since ANET has stated that the development cycle of this new kind of expansions is way shorter, and the repeatedly stated that they wanted to avoid battle-pass-like or FOMO related gameplay, I'm partially optimistic that they are going to fix these issues. Unless it was all just PR bs (claim X, do Y). ANET pleane don't turn into yet another big greedy gaming company, haven't you seen the amount of backlash the "notorious" ones are getting lately? I only play GuildWars 2 online exactly because ANET's philosophy was different and more user-caring than any other mmos.
  9. Also a valid point. Restore the previous number of available daily ToDos and onlt the first 3 completed (plus the initial login one) will give you AA. One thing I like about some of the new dailies is that they removed those annoying "complete (4) events in [low level map]", instead they added some generic ones like "complete a Heart (anywhere)" or "loot 10 mobs (anywhere)".
  10. Maybe it's not random, but it feels kinda weird and confusing.
  11. WvW and PvP potions weren't affected by bonuses and boosts (+x% wvw/pvp Reward track). They increased the base exp, and THAT is affected by boosts! All in all, can't complain. Sure, now you have to PLAY a bit of WvW/PvP instead of semi-afking 😉
  12. Hello, I'm going straight to the point for the negative aspects of the new daily system: 1) randomized dailies for each account = prevents friends and guildmates from playing together (in an MMO!). 2) less choice of daily activities. Old system gave you choices! The new one FORCES you to complete the 3 random ones assigned to you regardless of game type choice, and if you get a bad one that you don't like, it feels more like a chore than gameplay. 3) The daily/weekly choice "gear" option is obnoxious, it forces players to plan ahead for a week ("do I go for PvE only, or PvE+WvW/PvP, or all of them??" ). At first login after the update it wasn't clear what was that for. I thought it was only to highlight my interests, instead I now find myself with PvP weeklies that I personally never enjoyed/done. -------------------------------------------- So, I'm proposing the following improvements and/or upgrades to the current daily system: 1) increase the daily choice from 3 to 5 (or 6 may work better for those who choose all 3 gameplay modes pve+wvw+pvp) 2) Add a simple Tiered achievement so that only the first 3 dailies done contribute to Astral Acclaim rewards. Something like this: Tier 1: login (5 AA) - Tier 2: 1 daily completed (10 AA) - Tier 3: 1 daily completed (10 AA) - Tier 4: 1 daily completed (10 AA) -> final rewards. The achievement resets with the daily, at the usual time. People will get the same amount of daily AA (35) but with the freedom to choose something! Edit: 2.1) OR restore partially the previous system's daily availability, let players choose which ones the like to do in whichever order and grant the standard 10 AA only to the first 3 completed (not counting the automatic login 5 AA). Turn the selection gear (pve/wvw/pvp) into a FILTERING choice. But don't reintroduce map-specific dailies (like the 4 events in low level maps, or bounty (1) in specific PoF map). Keep the dailies as GENERIC as possible, that'll give players a bit more of QoL and freedom. 3) Make so that at least 3 of the 6 dailies are shared among ALL players, the other 3 can be randomized. 4) Optional: to simplify things, remove the awkward selection system (PvE , WvW , PvP ) and just give 5 or 6 dailies for each branch. 3 fixed (rotating daily), 2 (or 3) random ones. Added feedback: 1) The WvW Obsidian Sanctum JP daily is HORRIBLE for WvW purposes, either remove it, or switch it to the PvE section.
