Gifting Collection

Hello there, i just wanted to know if you can gift the entire standard collection edition (50$) of the game to someone else and if so, how? Also would you have to pay extra for the game (taxes maybe) if you are from US? Thanks!

Yes, you can either buy via GuildWars2.com or via authorized retailers. In both cases you will receive an CD-key which you can use to upgrade your account or give to someone else to upgrade their account.

 

In case something bad happens to their account, support may require purchase information so the safest option may be to buy it at an authorized retailer and include the invoice with the gift. Or to let the receiver buy it on his/her account with your payment.

I would not recommend letting another purchase the game on his/her account with your payment information.

 

If any falling-out should occur, the payment information is saved (whether one chooses to, or not) and it can be a mess should any Customer Support be needed. 

 

You would get a receipt even if you buy from ArenaNet (that you could pass along, if so desired).

In that case, would paying from ArenaNet and then gifting  the CD-Key provide my friend with my payment information or not? Don't really want my info out there

No, your friend will not get your payment information if you do it the way you described.
