I didn't know this was a bug - I figured it was intentional - and I really really loved it, I thought that's what made them cute, very different from other backpacks, and quite unique. I rarely come to the forums or read patch notes unrelated to WvW so I a) didn't know it was a bug and b) didn't know it had been "fixed" - I admit I haven't really zoomed in to that character to admire it in the past few weeks as I've not played it too much. 

I say "fixed" because, for me, they're broken, boring, and blah. There's nothing at all interesting about them now, and I'm super sad they changed. :(
