I bought the Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic mostly for this purpose, but it's not salvaging any at all. I use it on rare gear lvl 60 or above, as indicated, but nothing. I tried other salvage kits to no avail. Funny thing is that in the past months I was getting them by the loads, and now I want them and can't get them. Help please. Using a Master's Salvage Kit, the estimated average is ~0.5 globs per exotic for exotic gear level 68 or better.[1] Using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, the estimated average is ~1 glob per exotic for exotic gear level 68 or higher.[2] Could it be that the problem is because you tried to savage the globs from gear under level 68? I did read the wiki, but somehow your reply, even though quoted from wiki, seems neater, and easier to understand. The problem is that I was trying on rare not exotic. It reminded me why I got a load of them... because I went through a fase of deleting many of my characters to start fresh, and thus salvaging their soulbound exotics. Having said that, a problem still remains... I need at least one more stack of this material, and it's going to cost a fortune, buying exotics, in order to try salvaging a whole stack out of it. My goodness; ANet surely doesn't make it any easier, do they? It's not like you can sell the stuff. Edit: I salvaged 5 exotics this morning and didn't get a single glob of dark matter. The specific weapon I wanna craft requires that specific material. So will have to buy exotic gear on top of all the costs already... materials to craft... I'll have to do that, thanks.
