Nauda.3678
There currently is a bug where a large amount of "fake queue" persists on a map where you can have something like 40-50 queue and suddenly after 5-10 minutes of waiting in queue you suddenly jump ~30 spots in front for example, without any group/big amounts of players leaving that map. Bug is happening for a few weeks at this point and is pretty annoying Edited August 2, 2022 by Nauda.3678 1
Xenesis.6389
Dunno if that's a bug or not, cause you can't be entirely sure of how many actually leave a map, not unless you had them all personally whisper you that they did. But I think the fake queues are around because the auto resolve is longer to process. Like if you have a full map with a queue of 50, if a zerg of 20 people leave to another map, the first 20 will be asked to enter, if they don't answer because they're afk it takes a long while for the timer to run out and give their spot to next in line while auto punting them to the back of the line. This could have happened to you jumping 30 spots where people either left the queue or it auto resolved the spot. Or maybe an entire zerg was waiting in queue and then they decided to drop queue and go to another map instantly freeing up the queue spots they had. If you're entering maps with a queue still up it just means those people in queue are waiting to resolve and there's probably more space than them on the map.
Nauda.3678
I can exclude the possibility that there was another group on that map since we had a 60+ zerg so there is no way there were another 30 people on that map. Also there was no other group active from our server or our link who could try to join our map. Edited August 2, 2022 by Nauda.3678

Ok so did you have a fake queue as in anyone was still entering the map? or was the map actually queued and you just dropped instantly in queue spots? If that's the case it would just mean people who were waiting on that queue just left the queue then, had nothing to do with people leaving the map, just that people left the queue to play on another map. Nauda.3678
The map had a visible queue of 50 but after 5-10 min of waiting people always moved 30 spots ahead all of a sudden to position 20 and the "real" queue started. So the real queue was 20 but it showed 50 but the 30 "fake" positions still took quite some time to get through. neven.3785
its tradition for some guilds to queue EBG despite no intention of entering it, so if and entire guild of players does this somewhat at the same time when they start their raid, their chunk of 20-30 queue slots will cycle through quickly
