200-500 more ping than usual

Having issues today that seem to be server related - pingplotter shows my local network as fine but an issue with an external node. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Happy to provide traces for troubleshooting purposes.

Encountering similar things from the West Coast, I usually have 50 or less ping but now getting 200+ ping with spikes to 5000 ping and also complete desyncs

And this is only for Guild Wars 2, other online games have perfectly fine ping.

I am experiencing the same just today. My usual ping is 230-260 (I'm from SEA), but today its 360-400+... Hope they are able to fix it asap.

Same in wvw, i get pretty bad ping for some reason but outside wvw its fine. Usual is 250+ but in wvw it spikes from 300 to even 2000

I average around 250 from Australia, today i'm 500 - 700. 

Only thing changed is the new patch to the client this morning that downloaded and installed.

arenanet doesn't run the servers, they're hosted on amazon web services which had major problems today. i wouldn't expect it to be completely fixed for at least a few days.

The aws issue seems to have been resolved, so hopefully it won't be too long for everything to go back to normal.

Edit: Tested it out again and now I'm down to 100 ping without too many spikes and I didn't desync during a strike mission which is better

Thanks for the answers and the info - hopefully AWS will smooth out in the next few days/has already resolved itself. Don't wanna try raiding on 2k ping if I can help it!
