One shot deadeye. Making the most out of it?

I looked all over the internet, but could not find anything in specific.

The first website I came across showed a warning on my browser, so I didn't go on it.

So what I'm asking is that people post right here in the official forums the one shot deadeye build please.

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind.

I found something.

Are you talking about this build;

https://snowcrows.com/builds/thief/deadeye/power-deadeye

It seems very effective on a target dummy that doesn't move, use traits/skills to block/invuln/immune to attacks, defend nor attack.👍 Number 1!! 👍

There isn't a 1 shot deadeye build. You need to build up malice which takes a minimum of 3 landed hits to activate maleficent 7 for the stack of 10 power. And using dagger/dagger on deadeye. Really? You have 1 gap closer, heartseeker, 450 range. Dagger/pistol, I'd buy that for a buck. You can easily self cloak (not requiring a target to use cloak and dagger) and shadow shot with 900 range giving you 1350 range in total. Personally I prefer eagle runes over scholar as they aren't reliant on +90% hp for the 6th bonus.

So that's a rubbish build then?

Help me out here friend.

I see dead eyes taking people out with 1 shot in wvw.

I would really like to do the same, or as close to it as possible.

Thief isn't really my speciality.

Rare are the occasions I shine at it.

(I have my moments)

So I really need this.

Guide me through please.

Deadeye, even on full glass berserker gear and build, has mediocre damage compared to other DPS class and still lack cleave (the only cleave attack on rifle 2 reduce DE's DPS by 33% on solo build or 50% on group build).

Bern.9613 is just trolling. Snowcrows is strictly for PvE and specialized for high end PvE content. WvW builds will be much different.

WvW DE builds do not one shot, however with the right setup, the right skill and knowhow you can do a lot of damage in a short period of time. Also it's better to prioritize quickness for DE WvW builds (BQoBK vs MAL7). If you can get attacks out quick, the faster you can generate/use malice.

  1. stats == high risk/high reward for the highest DPS (berserker... I usually run marauders + wvw toughness infusions, but will run full berserker for the lolz sometimes)
  2.  you need to practice queuing attacks (it is good practice to count them, know exactly how many are needed for max malice, and watch if they connect)
  3.  you need to listen to when the max malice pop sounds (be reactive, in case attacks get blocked)
  4. you need to be responsive (this is generic for all classes though)

Well, I don't know how some people can do it, but I have seen them do it.

I don't know what preparation they have done before... but as you said, the might build up max malice.

All I know is that they just appear in a fight from stealth and are able to down other players with ine shot.

This, off course requires a mixture of experience with just plain guessing... as to who is running glass builds; because they usually tend to aim for light armour classes, and occasionally try medium arnour classes.

So I just presume that they are trying to see who is running glass builds and always go for the same target.

I'm also guessing that communication comes at play here; they might ask to a team mate who in the opposition is dying quickly, so they aim for that target.

These factors may play a huge role in the one shot kill, and so it's not all dependant on the Deadeye build itself, but a combination of everything I have mentioned

That is proper sniper play.

I will try those runes of the eagle.

But I don't know which specs I should use.

As I said... thief is not one if my specialities, and it's probably my least played class out of the lot.

So I'm basically between somewhat experienced and not quite specialist; but still a way to go from being an absolute pro.

So, which two specs should I use in combo with Deadeye?

I'm using Acrobatics, and something else I don't remember.

Not on my DE at the moment.

Thanks again.

When you say a "one shot build" you are implying that the first shot on a target will do 100% of their HP. This is just not possible at the beginning of a fight. To me it sounds like you are encountering Death's Judgement with max malice, with boons and the target under attack is most likely is running a glass cannon build.

  • It is quite possible a DE start's a fight in stealth, but it won't be a very large attack, certainly not max HP damage and it cannot be with Death's Judgement.
  • Death's Judgment requires at least F1, plus two attacks before pressing F2 (or stealth) and 1 to trigger the attack. Personally I use F2, 2, 2, F1, 1 and it only takes a very short while if Be Quick or Be Killed is taken a long side Sigil of Rage.

Yeah, it can be a little of this. Usually it takes a little poking. I am sure there are more experienced people who find this a lot quicker. I play all game modes, but have gotten busy IRL so I haven't been on as much.

I would not use Acrobatics if you want a max damage build. It's more for the survivability side of things. Also it's for sword/dagger focused builds, not rifle DE builds. I would recommend Shadow Arts and Trickery. Normally I don't take Shadow Arts with my builds, but for DE it synergizes so well since you want to rinse and repeat Death's Judgement often.

  • This is the build I use [&DQUUKiwnOiUKAQoBNAEvAVcBPgFYAFcBPRY9FgAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=] (paste it into gw2 to see it)
  • Weapons + Armor Stats: Full Marauder or Berserker or a Mix (whatever I feel like) + WvW Toughness infusions. I have max slots for infusions. Note: 2x are power, 1x is condi... don't ask 😂
  • Weapon 1: Rifle (Sigil of Rage: quick on crit 20s CD) x (Sigil of Air: damage on crit 3s CD)
  • Weapon 2: Sword (Sigil of Celerity: quick on disabling foe 20s CD) x Dagger (Sigil of Energy: gain 50% endurance when you swap to this weapon while in combat 9s CD)
  • Armor: Rule of the Scholar (high risk/high reward)

I help lead a all thief community called EcK btw. Also I adopted the toughness infusions on advice from another member who has on a number of times gotten into the top 100-150 in PvP using thief.

Which traits in each spec please?

Cut and paste the build link into guild wars 2 to see.

Edit: it's the [....] part from the last post. Including the brackets. If you paste it into chat a build window I'll pop up.
