Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure Known Issues: Launch Week

Hello, Tyria, and happy Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure launch day! We are going to be keeping a close eye out for any problems you may run into, and I’ll be tracking them here for the first few days. As always, if you encounter an issue in the game, head to our bug reports subforum to report it. Keep an eye on our game update notes subforum for the latest game updates! 

Known Issues 

• Some players who completed the requirements for legendary weapon achievements are not receiving retroactive credit.  
• The "Escort Lyhr to the Great Hall so he can rebalance himself" event does not always progress correctly.
• Weapon skins obtained from the pre-purchase Eagle Eye Weapon Chest do not count toward the Eagle Eye Weapon Collector Achievement.
• Players are not able to advance the Story of the Expansion as Kamilla does not provide the Motivational Items needed to progress the story.
• The tooltips for essences in the Strength of the Unseen collection incorrectly state that players can purchase the items in the Wizard's Tower. Players can purchase the essences from the associated Faction Provisioner merchants at any bastion in Amnytas. The Essence of the Celestial can be purchased from the Bastion of Strength provisioner. We will correct the tooltip text in a future build. 
• Some players may experience a rare graphics issue in new maps that affects their view of the game world and UI. We are working on a solution for this, but in the meantime, relogging should solve the problem if you experience it. 
• Motivation crafting materials cannot be stored in material storage. We have a fix for this coming in a future build, and in the meantime, they can be stored in your bank. 
• The Astral Ward Cloak cannot be equipped from the player’s inventory. We are working on a fix for this. In the meantime, players can equip the cape by dragging it to the back item slot or by right clicking the back item slot and selecting the cape. 
• Some players will experience a client crash when opening the crafting panel.
  • UPDATE: We have temporarily disabled the crafting improvements UI while we address a crash issue

Resolved Issues

• (Resolved) The skyscale mount does not always unlock for players who completed the A New Friend achievement.
• (Resolved) If a player disconnects while listening to Zizel's call during the Help the Rift Hunter story step, the story step will be blocked when they reconnect.
• (Resolved) The Champion Avatar of Regret is targeting more players than intended with the Crushing Regret skill. 
• (Resolved) Player progress can stall on the story step "Make a plan with Frode, Uenno, Zojja, and Mabon."
• (Resolved) The Dagda strike mission is unlocked per character rather than account-wide.
• (Resolved) If a player purchases either the Sanctified Gloves or the Sanctified Boots from the Wizard's Vault, both items are marked "Sold Out". 
• (Resolved) Refugee Coordinator Zaya will sometimes fail to proceed during the Zaishen Remorse event chain, causing the event to stall. 
• (Resolved) Vhalin will sometimes fail to proceed during the Angry Dwarves event in Skywatch Archipelago, causing the event to stall. 
• (Resolved) Players are able to complete the achievement Temple of Febe, but are not receiving the Relic of Cerus.
• (Resolved) Players who complete the Strength of the Unseen collection do not receive the Relic of Mabon.
• (Resolved) Players are not receiving a Hero's Choice Chest upon completion of the Skywatch Archipelago meta event. 
• (Resolved) Ranged attacks on Fallen Exalted turrets in Skywatch Archipelago show as "Obstructed" even when there is a clear line of sight.
• (Resolved) The Shiver emote incorrectly performs the Bless emote.
• (Resolved) There is a rare crash for necromancer players who open their hero panel while under the effects of the Nayos Auro debuff.
• (Resolved) Galene the Seething can sometimes become untargetable during the Demonic Challenger event in Skywatch Archipelago, preventing players from completing the event.
• (Resolved) We have temporarily disabled the Requisitions Specialist in Gyala Delve while we address an issue.
• (Resolved) Some players are experiencing an issue accessing Mother of Stars. We are working on a fix for this, but in the meantime players who do not have the first waypoint of Skywatch Archipelago unlocked can TTF to someone in their guild or party who is in the map. 
• (Resolved) Players who are defeated during the meta-event in Amnytas while under the effect of Banished may become unable to use several of the special action skills. 
• (Resolved) The Wizard's Vault panel is not loading for some players.
• (Resolved) We are aware of a payment issue causing players to experience an "Error 108" message when making a purchase. We are working to solve this as soon as possible.
• (Resolved) We're currently experiencing an extremely high volume of users on EU worlds. We are working on increasing capacity as soon as possible. Players on EU worlds may experience connectivity issues for a short time. We will update you as soon as we've resolved the issue.
• (Resolved) The reward for completing the Wizard's Vault weekly meta-achievement incorrectly includes 1 gold. Players will still receive 1 gold as a reward each time they complete the daily Wizard's Vault meta-achievement. 
• (Resolved)  In the seventh chapter of the Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure story, Activist Ikur will only interact with one player at a time. 
• (Resolved) Relic of Water has a 30-second cooldown rather than the intended 20-second cooldown in all game modes. 
• (Resolved) If the instance owner leaves the Commander Without A Cause story instance during the first set of dialogue, the rest of the party will be sent to their character select screens.
• (Resolved) Relic of the Unseen Invasion does not provide superspeed in PvP. 
• (Resolved) We have temporarily disabled the effects of the following relics while we address an issue: 
  • Relic of the Adventurer 
  • Relic of the Centaur 
  • Relic of the Pack 
  • Relic of Durability
