Watchwork Wings Backpack - Why not dyable?

The [Watchwork Wings Package] comes with the [Watchwork Wings Backpack] and [Watchwork Wings Glider].  The Glider skin is dyable, but the Backpack skin is not. Why?  It makes it pretty much useless to actually dye the glider, since they'll no longer match.  Seems like an oversight/mistake.

Because the backpack was introduced before the tech to make backpacks dyable got into the game.

They said when the tech to dye backpacks got into the game it would not be backwards compatible hence not even legendary backpacks can be dyed.

And the reason for that was they would have to remake each backpack from the ground up and they would rather make new backpacks they can sell I would guess.

Would be nice if they could go back and add dye palettes to older stuff or make new versions of them if it's not possible.

Like; I love the shape of the  "Scaled Dragon Wings" but never bought them solely because I couldn't dye them to match my character. Went with the Draconic Wings instead because they could be dyed even though I'd of preferred the smaller agile looking Scaled type more.
