I live in Alaska, and am curious if any NA world selection has any effect in any game mode in regards to ping. I know how it affects my WvW team. From what I read, Anet hosts all servers through amazon somewhere in Virginia. Does this mean essentially everyone is forced to connect to the east coast? Even if it is just a WvW team thing, how can I know which timezone each world is, so I can sync my playtime better with others? I can try to guest, but it's once a week and doesn't affect WvW, so kind of pointless. I don't know how to gather data. SoftFootpaws.9134 Posted September 21, 2023 Share Posted September 21, 2023 (edited) the short answer is no, the game runs pve on many different servers all appearing as one large megaserver. your ping will be map-specific, but on average its going to be the same as it is to any other amazon datacenter, since aws runs the services.
