Imminent Threat is the perfect example of the type of change I wanna see in balance patches.

Disclaimer: This is meant of Openworld PvE only.

Imminent Threat.

A skill that so far has only seen two changes in its life.

- A nerf in 2020.

- A second nerf with the Resolution change in 2021.

A skill with some great synergies.

- Might and Quickness from Aggressive Onslaught.

- Stability from Stalwart Strength.

- Might and Fury from the Relic of the midnight king.

- Adrenalin with Merciless Hammer.

- Resolution on its own is pretty much worthless but gives damage reduction via Hardened Armor.

And which Spellbreaker had not the experience of standing in an army of mobs, only for Full Counter to not trigger?

So having a Taunt makes this skill even better.

It even comes with it's own Adrenaline gain.

So, if this skill is so good, why do I not play it?

The cooldown.

Most of the synergies it has is also true for other skills.

- Bulls charge. A amazing skill on it own with a CD of 24s

- Banner of Strength. Dmg, cc, boons, blast finisher. All on a 30s CD.

- Kick. Even that skill serves the purpose of triggering synergies better. On a 20s CD.

Add all the other amazing skill options we don't wanna miss out on like Break Enchantments, the signets and banners.

All Imminent Threat needs is a lower cool down. 20 Seconds would bring it enough in line with all the other options to be a nice option for Openworld builds.

But we all know that changes like these are not an option. As all that matters are benchmark numbers.

It's the perfect example of the type of changes I wanna see.

A skill with lots of flavor and synergies. Forgotten to time.

Which could be fixed with a single small change that would not impact anything in a negative way.

As it won't see play in Strikes/Raids and thanks to the (PVE ONLY) option doesn't effect PvP or WvW.

A single number change. Like Arenanet loves to do.
