As a Solo Qer I cant beat full stacks of plat players. And thats a problem

Or just fix matchmaking so it isnt as hard focused on mirrioring classes egainst each other. Population isnt really big enough for that. Nothing is more infuriating having a gold mesmer cause thats all the algorithm could find to match vs the plat 2 mesmer

Remove Duo queue past gold 3

I don't believe there's any reason left to to have duo q. The pve kids are all farming obsidian armor and most if not all players left are aware of what can be done with duo q.

yes it is important in any pvp game for the skill ceiling to be set low enough where people can compete against higher tiers. you should never feel powerless

yes, they take that very seriously, even silver players have the chance  to fight top 10 duos, a truly marvelous work

Indeed. It is very empowering for us to witness gold 1 players in the same match as plat 2s and 3s

The algorithm tries to prevent the same profession being on each team, not mirroring. That being said, it’s counter productive to their design philosophy.

a big issue is that the algorithm is all about finding averages within a certain time frame and then adding buffers the longer you wait to increase that range. Unless you have a lot of players with similar stats all playing different professions, you are going to get bad matches.

Plat 2 players wait a long time in solo queue because no one matches their level. Removing duo queue could help  with match equality, but all it will really do is force high ranked players to Smurf.

They will either smurf or try to q dodge the ones in top 10 like a bunch of kitten

Which is fine.  Most of them are only in Plat 2 because power of duo--if you take that away they aren't staying that high.

Even if they smurf, I bet a lot of plat 2 settle to low plat 1 / g3 solo only, whether that's beating everyone until they get to that level or losing until they drop to it.

People have to realize on NA there is zero difference in skill between 1550 and 1450 right now, despite crossing plat/gold threshold.  Realize OP is being facetious / meme'ing but just wanted to throw that out there for anyone who isn't picking up the subtext.

There is a large difference from say 1450 - 1250 though, and that's where I believe a lot of match volatility is coming from due to low population.  It's also why you see people with like 300 games barely hitting 1500 at end of season with a 52% winrate or something...
