I don't think that's feasible for a person or even a group. Or at least not on the duration, the only case of market manipulation done was made by a cheater, so that doesn't really count...

If so, do you have a reason of why they decided to cut their value by more than half during EoD?

Gen 3 legendary weapons taking half the clovers and no huge amounts of straight coins (like the 250 per mystic tribute for gen 2/trinkets) is exactly the reason for that, pre-Wizard's Vault. Now that we have the vault lowering supply input (people that play actively enough to buy all the WV rewards are getting the same number as before, but less active players aren't), the price has gone up again.

So basically you are saying that an external event (from the point of someone who may manipulate the market) is affecting it to the point of cuting in more than half your capital (for the hypothetical market manipulator), and you can't do anything about it?

Well, it's not market manipulation if it's out of your control, that's just basic economy....
