Got it in one. Unfortunately those of us that realize it (and refuse to participate in something meant to trap gambling addicts) are effectively blocked from whatever they have as gambling-only.

Yes but these things are made for people who not realize it and whales. Even if it's minority, they get enough money to use gambling as their main revenue source.
