Vizer.1085
Hey guys, as the title says, I'm a returning player. The last time I touched this game Path of Fire had just come out. I guess I'm mostly looking for any beginers guides, youtubers, things of that nature I could look to. Any class I should avoid, such as a class that will get auto kicked from a raid or pvp just because I'm that class. And I remember armor and weapons being diferent, something about stats being universal within a rarity, but substats being different based on a prefix or suffix or something? Anyways, appreciate any help, tips, etc you guys have. I remember enjoying this game quite a bit, but when my friend quit shortly after, I got myself so lost I just dropped this game. Which really wasn't fair, I remember this game being quite fun, even if I didn't really know what I was doing. I think one of the first things you might want to do is drop this worry about playing a class that nobody wants in their group. Instead, the mindset should be more like "how do I play this class in a way that helps my group?" While every class can do something useful for a raid or fractal group, it's often specific builds or roles within that class that people are looking for. So in other words, it's not really about your class, but how you build/play that specific class. That said, some classes are much easier to make useful for almost any group. Guardian in particular comes to mind, especially in the firebrand specialization (which you have access to, thanks to PoF). Condition damage firebrand does excellent damage without requiring complex keyboard piano style play, and variious support firebrands can really carry a group with blocks, heals, and other boons. In fact, smart use of F2 abilities on a condition firebrand can help heal up your group a good amount even if you're not running a healing build specifically.

I'm mostly just worried about not being given a chance. While a rarity, it has happened to me before, and it really feels bad. This game has had time to settle into a meta, so I just want to give myself the opportunity to slip in seamlessly. I do have access to my level 80 Mesmer (HoT Boost), but I don't really want to touch him until I know what I'm doing. Lest I accidently screw something up, or use up a rare item or something. Appreciate the advice. I'll definitely look in to the Guardian. Edited May 6, 2021 by Vizer.1085
