which is better

so just returned after years away and have to restart as my old account is nolonger showing up..

so i used to play Engineer and Mesmer. im seeing lots changed, so how are these two doing now.

Engineer doing great, Mesmer not so great.

There's a lot of problems with Mesmer that were never fixed, and it got nerfed a lot, but if you enjoyed playing mesmer before, you'll still enjoy it today, it's not unplayable. It's just that stuff happened to it like, in PvP and WvW, Mirage now only has 1 dodge, no more boonshare chrono, nerfs to damage, etc.

However, i don't play Engi, and don't know if it's the same or not, someone else correct me if Engi is bad or whatever... But from what i've seen, in WvW, Scrappers are amazing, and Holosmith is great burst so...

thanks i used to love engi

atm i got both to 20 engi is proving fun just for kits allowing massive change to playstyle.. i used to love mesmer for dropping domes on idiots shooting gates, but think i left just as conditions were being nerfed

If you just come back why only level 20 or did you delete all your characters when you left?

basicaly lost my account.. was sure it was linked to my gw1 and still have emails, but they say this account only had beta (i left just after the karka event.

as i cant find my old account, i just paid for a new one, as mate bought it too and couldnt be bothered to go in circles with support.

tbf as so much changed, restarting fresh isnt so bad, but damn i miss my crafting and bags.

nope. i think my gw2 account must be linked to an email i nolonger have, its been long time

If you left a couple of months after launch, then much MUCH has changed.
Be sure to pay attention to the Level-up tutorial/tips, and reference the Wiki (link above) when in doubt.

Engi is great in all game modes and very fun/versatile! I main it in all content (pvp, wvw, fractals, raids) and top dps/near top always.

im enjoying engi again. flamethrower makes tagging event (hearts) easy and an asura with a bomb or flamethrower is fun to look at.

going to look at crafting andd try remember how to make bags

silly question, but didnt engineer used to get little backpacks for each toolkit?

Yes, but the animations were reworked, the engi now carries the items (like a bag of grenades or a big bomb) in the hands.Think it was changend because people wanted to see their normal backback while using kits.
