Remembering Darcy/Jakket/Whaff. Let's Immortalize Her!

For those of you who don't know, GW2 community lost a dazzling soul very recently. To some of you she was known as Darcy, to some as Jakket, and to others as Whaff. She was a 72 years young Asura and 11 years veteran of GW games. She was a Maguuma Server commander, commanding karka trains and Teq runs. But you probably know her best as a Teq commander. She helped everyone, from veterans to new players, to successfully run Teq. She's the type of players who help you on map chat and in whispers. She's the type of players who helped to realize such a nice and compassionate GW community. I never knew the lady personally, but I've been on the receiving end of many wonderful map chat replies and brilliant whispers, and I'd like to believe some of those were from her.

In honor of her memories, people tagged up on her Blue commander tag when Teq showed up today. I learned that from a GW2 facebook group today. There's also a forum post, celebrating the deeds of the genius Asura.

What we, all the GW2 players, want to suggest is to name an NPC after the beloved commander. Let's have an NPC named after her, running around Teq and giving instructions to players. Or any other type of NPC near Teq, which will remind us of her lovely presence and help dispel the shadow of Teq. There's also a reddit post asking the same thing just like here.

You can craft monuments for your Guild Hall, they are personilisable too, you can place any message on them. I can’t imagine naming an NPC after every lost dedicated player though, it wouldn’t be fair if some got that memorial and others didn’t.I’m sorry for your loss, it’s never easy losing someone.

Every year we get several of these requests to immortalize a player that has died. ANet can’t possibly put in NPC’s for all of these people and it’s not fair to put a personal Monument for some but not others. Hundreds/thousands die each year and are also deeply missed by loved ones. I suggest you immortalize her in your guild hall since y’all are the ones that knew her and miss her.
