Scrapper Suggestion

I was thinking since scrapper was already dabbling with barrier, can we expand on that a bit?

Function gyroWhile function gyro is not in use, you gain a charge when hit. At 25 charges, you gain barrier.

OR

While function gyro is not in use, you gain stacks that add toughness, max 5 stacks (similar to old adaptive armor).

Final SalvoSwap grant superspeed when gyros get destroyed to grant barrier to you and allies around the gyros when it gets destroyed. In addition to it's current effects.

Bulwark Gyrocan it grant flat damage reduction like rite of the great dwarf without dying?

Rapid RegenerationSince superspeed will be swapped out for barrier, regenerate health while under the effects of stability.

Shocking SpeedGain shocking aura(also allies?) when using a leap or blast finisher in a lightning field.More expert extermination synergy ;)

also you've turned function gyro into a signet which is probably the most boring and uninteresting solution, besides the biggest problem of function gyro is more that it's useless in pve rather then wvw and pvp.

gonna elaborate a bit more on the function gyro suggestions: barrier is pointless if you can't time it. it either procs way too often or it will Always proc when you don't need it.

a passsive toughness buff will cause issues in raids: it either is too low to be of any use or it's so high that you will be forced to be the tank in which case using it to rez allies becomes a burden because of the toughness loss

Yes that's the goal! because the ai is clunky might aswell incentivize it's death and strengthen scrapper's role as damage mitigation.

scrapper already has an identity in wvw it just gets overshadowed by chrono and FB, this wouldn't fix that, not even close.also just because scrapper doesn't see use in pve isn't an excuse to kill it harder, if anything it should be insentive to make it better.

A permanent superspeed buff or maxing the base movement speed on the gyros might be starting point. The pathing is what is awful about gyros it's not really an AI issue (i.e. can't/won't find targets, use skills, etc.). Perhaps if they were able to move extremely quickly after each pathing update/iteration, it might look a bit weird visually, but it would potentially makeup for the lost time determining the pathing.

It'd be great to see Anet regroup and give scrapper a meaningful update. Scrapper has been pushed pretty far from it's initial release state; so far in fact that there really isn't much in the way of easy fixes (i.e. tweak this value, or duration, etc without changing functionality) that can help the spec unfortunately.

Scrapper already has an identity. Gaining stacks from each kill is not an identity. You can't defend your mechanical ideas on the grounds that it gives an identity. You're not addressing the actual critique offered.

but its not, its current identity in wvw is as the best class for giving out super speed, so stripping all of the super speed from it would actually remove its identity
