  1. all skills, mechanics and weapons have been removed everybody get's to only autoattack using a stick as a weapon
  2. It's also possible that her rapid growth came at a cost, and she's sterile. Very true. 1) to humans? Sylvari drop out of pods fully grown. That's creepy too.2) and Vlast did not. Crystal dragons apparently need a trigger to hatch. The several hundred years was because that trigger came late.3) yes? But not really relevant to whether she can or not. She could always have eggs that are destroyed. let me put it this way: possible in lore with the info we currently have? yes. possible anet will take the story in a direction resembling this? not in this quadrant of the multiverse I will rephrase to be more family friendly.Creepiness is what you make it. School children watch butterflies hatch from pupa, lay eggs, and die. you're a genuine sociopath if you think that
  3. Aurene is a new type of dragon. She may be much more efficient at being pregnant. Maybe she is a marsupial. All snark aside, I would love to see dragon-kind return to Tyria. I just don't see how that is possible without making them unable to consume as much magic as they can now or giving them homogenized and pathological personalities. All dragons would have to be good or unable. I would prefer dragons have agency and less power. Aurene could still be a mother but that would be part of her breaking the hold dragons and Elder dragons have on the All. Imagine her giving up her status as Elder dragon as part of transforming dragon-kind into a stable species that couldn't be an existential threat; giving her a people where she could find love as any Quaggon or Human may. see my first point again, secondly aurene has multiple siblings hidden somewhere and besides who says that a ED replacement has to be a dragon from birth I was being facetious with the more efficient pregnancy and possibly marsupial comment. I think solving the stability of the All problem by making Aurene a mother would be creepy, lazy and unfulfilling. We don't know what the requirements are for replacing an Elder dragon except that you need to be a dragon though. Is there any evidence that the job could be done by non Elder dragons without re-engineering the structure of the All? That is where I think the story is going. The current representation of the All with six balancing spheres is only one possible configuration for a stable All. Tyria's configuration is the unique result of its history and ecology that can be altered. I think the question is whether Aurene ends up being the solely responsible for the integrity of the All (which would be very dangerous since there is a single point of failure) or if the structure becomes more complex with more and smaller spheres representing things such as the races of Tyria, a stable but messy configuration.i was more insinuating that becoming an ED turns whatever it is that replaces one into a dragon but doesn't need to be a dragon prior to "ascending". (like a benevolent fafnir)

  6. 1) that'd be creepy 2) aurene took several hundred years to hatch 3) that'd be seen by many as a cop out
  7. while i like the idea of a lesser form of stealth (or cloak) i think the suggested implementation is just bad. (the perception idea is just bad)
  8. Revealed is supposed to be a counter to stealth, however it is poorly implemented. They should really just get rid of Revealed. I once suggested a counterplay to give Thieves, and only Thieves, the ability to detect all things hidden - stealth players, traps, preparations, etc. Since the Thief is proficient in Shadow Arts, they should have the innate ability to detect anything hidden. The stealth player will appear as smokey figure lurking around that can be targeted by the Thief. The range of this ability will be 600, so any stealth player who enters within 600 range of the Thief will appear as a targetable smokey figure. In addition, the Thief will also be able to target traps/preparation and attack it to disarm it. The traps will appears as a targetable smokey camp fire. This will make Thief a good roaming buddy. This is pretty kitten cool. So basically permastealth thieves are countered by less stealth centered thieves, but less stealth centered thieves have a harder time against other classes. I wonder what the result would be from this. Also, the result if this was true for all currently stealthed playersthief countering thief will just end with everybody playing thief so not much would change
  9. See, you already made the mistake of explaining the word's definition through the filter of what you - us - mean by natural and naturalism. To us, natural can be simultaneous with physical. In Tyria, however, where magic is real, gods are literal beings and afterlife is an actual place, one could argue that the word should incorporate all those things, as well. So, if we accept that, a ranger's summon spirits are very much part of the natural order in Tyria. At least, that's how I interpret it. Oo good point! I like this explanation. But why would they use naturalist which is to differentiate from supernatural? What would be considered supernatural in Tyria then?it's probably so that common conceptions see spirits, magic, etc. as supernatural while rangers see them more as part of nature's bigger picture. it's a matter of perspective
  10. GW2 do have something to counter that.Thief is limited by initiative when other classes have cooldowns. This make thief bursty, but then he's starved. So it's a matter of surviving the initial burst.By having defensive cooldowns and stunbreak/stability, you can handle the initial burst. i love how your answer didn't even mention stealth like "yeah stealth has no counter play but you can survive burst damage." The counter to stealth is seeing the thief approaching by not showing your back and waiting. how would i see the thief coming when he's perma-stealthed. As said, by having him in detection range i'm not talking about your post, i'm talking about OPs Well, the OP is talking about looking for ways to implement it, and one step to doing so is finding some way of making it fair. Permanent stealth while out of combat, using the existing stealth mechanics, would be unfair.yes, thank you for agreeing with me because that's what i was saying from the start.
  11. sounds easily abusable. just have them spawn in a lava pit or something. The editor interface wouldn't be that dumb, disallowing putting mob in poison cloud, lava or void, plus if the foe suicide itself I don't think you earn the reward :/ppl always find a work around. always
  12. these things require the game to be build around it which gw2 isn't. (or it needs the complexity of an NES game which gw2 isn't either)
