It already exists in GW2, just in a bastardized version, which is why they can't figure out balance. Even the armor weights are based on the trinity, which is also making balance that much harder to maintain. So we kind of only have 2 routes to go, make all skills self only or go all in and restore the trinity. Until then, we are stuck in limbo.

You are actually correct.

Ill be honest - I would be in favor of a trinity since its far easier to balance then this bastardized version we have now.

The trinity is better for PVE rather than PvP, for more defined roles of specs for group content. WoW's pvp is a example of this, and why it feels like utter garbage to play. You're basically hitting a regenerating wall unless you're one of the good classes like mage or warlock that have stupid damage to kill healers. Factor in GW2 action combat and baseline dodges, a traditional trinity will only push it further into the territory of snooze fest . Not only that you'd also cement healers being a requirement for winning anything, Which kinda sounds like a replay of HoT bunker meta but worse.

While that may be your opinion ~ lets examine a more realistic viewpoint.

Wows arena is an actual competitive and supported esport

Wow pvp community is staggeringly larger then gw2s pvp community. They have and always had a much larger, and active pvp community.

Wows arena has continued to have actual updates which tend to give better balance results.

This is from a trinity game style.

Whether you like to admit it or not ~ GW2 has had a loose bastardized trinity and has always had one.

That is a large reason why this game and mode has been impossible to balance as we have seen.

Move closer to the trinity and watch balance improve - move further and you continue to get what we see now.

You sure about that? Sounds like you haven't touched WoW in a while or ever? I spent time in WoW for about a year now and played it myself, and everyone in that community says WoW's PvP has been awful/a joke as of late/ BFA as a whole is awful, not including the fact corruptions completely botched whatever sort of idea of "Balance" you thought that game has and i call bull on the better balance part. The most they'll patch and balance is the dumb things like random proc one shots from infinite stars or Versatile corruption stacking. They're almost as bad as Anet when it comes to balancing anything and the pace of it. Lets not forget WoW's staple of gear treadmill is also a factor here that makes you relevant or not in a PvP scene and trinkets such as the Drestagath trinket, and specifically tailored PVP/Warmode skills. You think it's also good pvp if you need 3rd party addons to be good and tell you when people use their trinket/medallion(CC break)/defensives? Sure buddy.

Being a Esport =/= being a better pvp game, just means Blizzard has more money to support that since they make a event out of pretty much everything, Mythic + dungeon running(MDI), World first raiding, etc. Gw2 was a Esport for a time, until Anet dropped the dream and focused on PVE full steam instead. Where we are currently isn't new, and has been for the case for years, it isn't because we lack a trinity, it's because of developer neglect and unwillingness to make the right decisions. This game had all the potential to be the best PvP/WvW game on the MMO market but it's all squandered because they don't care for it, just more story content/open world PVE, and gemstore updates. Your realist point of view isn't realist, it's uninformed lazy dribble. Trying to purpose for a trinity for balance isn't going to solve the issues of Spvp, the game doesn't need a hard trinity, it needs some good proper attention and support, and developers that actually have a good understanding of the classes they're balancing if you want good balance.

lolThe #1 complaint about arenas is that games last to 85% dampening and are boring to watch, and the first 5 minutes literally doesn't matter due to healers being overpowered. It's an esport due to money, not because it's actually fun or a good game.
